The location is really perfect for an Ashland overnighter. We had a pet friendly room, everything was clean and comfortable, for the most part in a pet friendly room. The continental breakfast had more options than most hotels which is always a bonus.
I really wish hotels allowed the pet friendly rooms to be just as nice as the non-pet friendly rooms. Because you're bringing a pet, that means you usually get the very basic room, with no carpet/or extra cozy furnishings. I stayed here for work in the past and remembered this place because it was really nice and comfortable. It still was comfortable and convenient on our road trip, but it really does bum me out when the pet friendly rooms just seem more sub-par even when you have to pay extra. Other than that, it was still very nice.

This is a good solid motel in the heart of Ashland. It's an older facility, but they're doing a great job upgrading the rooms. It's quiet even when they are full with guests; always clean; the bathtubs are clean and inviting so I know when I book I will be able to relax in a hot bath; the staff are always friendly and helpful and the beds are clean and comfortable. I travel a lot for work and stay in Ashland hotels and motels a lot for business trips, and I can say that you can pay more for "luxury" hotels in Ashland, but in reality their basic rooms aren't any nicer and for the price and conveneince, you are way better off staying here at the Flagship Inn!
So far I have no complaints about this motel- they know their business and do it well!

I've stayed here many times over the years. It is the best bargain in Ashland. The motel is old but well maintained. The room and furnishings are super clean and comfortable. Some quirks that come with old places exist, like shower temperature fluctuates a little and the heater/air conditioner is noisy but the room is still very comfortable. The bed is great and covered with a luxurious comforter. BTW: the motel is 1.2 miles from the Shakespeare Festival box office and theaters.

I stayed 2x in one week. First stay was in a double queen with a friend. Room was great. The owners are wonderful and breakfast was fine for me👍 The pool area was really nice, lots of tables and new looking. I d DEFINATELY recommend the double queen room though and not the single
My 2nd visit I was by myself and was in a single bed room downstairs on the end. The shower was VERY small. If I were any bigger, ( I m 5 5 150) I would have had trouble turning around in it. It was that small. And because of the location of the room, I could hear the voice on the crossing lights directing people when it was safe to cross. Everything else was fine. But if you stay in another part of the hotel and in a bigger room, you will be very happy.

The price was very reasonable, and it is a pet friendly Inn. Those things are important to us, so we are fine with the fact that some things could have been cleaner. We left a tip for the housekeeper anyway. They are never paid well enough.
It was really fine. This is our 2nd year of staying there. The reception staff was terrific, and so were the warm chocolate chip cookies in the reception area. The bathroom was extremely small, especially when it was a pet friendly room and if we are away from the room, we like to keep our pet in the bathroom. That was tough on her because of limited space.

The staff here are always friendly and accommodating. They always take care of any special needs I may have. The price is economical and always have something to grab for breakfast. Parking is easy although the street isn't the most accessible, but it's not the hotel's fault. I make frequent trips up I-5 and this hotel is at a good location for me to stop. Close enough to downtown and places to eat. I almost always stay here when passing through the area.
Street access to I-5 is a little inconvenient, but I've been there enough to know I just need to go one street over to hit a light.

The location was excellent, and my room was extremely private and quiet. It was also extremely clean. The desk staff in the morning were exceptionally friendly and fun. The price was great.
The check-in guy didn't seem to care at all about the guests. The sheet fabric was worn and pilly and the bed was very hard, but I travel with a cushion so I was ok.

Good location close to but not in downtown. Convenient on site parking, easy check in and out. Well appointed rooms with comfortable bed ample linen & towels
Breakfast room a bit cramped & unappealing w limited & not tasty pastry selection. Coffee machine could also use an upgrade. For such a large facility should have on site laundry Price ok but not the greatest value

The hotel is conveniently located near the university, restaurants and a very good area to walk around. The property is very clean with plenty of parking. Lots of large parking spaces.
I didn’t find anything to complain about this hotel. My husband and stayed here for the first time 3 months prior, and we decided to stay there again when our next trip took us to Ashland. We even asked for the same room. We liked it that much. Staff was very accommodating.

Super friendly staff and owner. The location is unbeatable; within walking distance to the Ashland Food Coop, great coffee shops, and an extraordinary Indian restaurant/bar.
The breakfast room could use a bit of an up-do. A few machines seemed to be broken & the coffee machine wasn't the best. Wouldn't it be better to have great tea and coffee options, without the hypertech machines? Just hot water and tea bags? No one can control wildfires....but when I was there there was Ash falling on Ashland due to the fires in Northern Callie. Rather apocalyptic.
