The staff is very friendly and service oriented. They go overboard to please. The location is excellent, within a 10 minute walk to restaurants, shopping and the Elizabethan theaters. Breakfast was the same daily: steel cut oatmeal, dry cereals, toast, yogurt and boiled egg. Booking tip: ground floor rooms are below street grade (basement) on the city side. 2nd floor rooms on the city side are street level. Recommend 3rd floor if available. Great effort goes into cleaning and maintenance. The price was excellent.

We like historic hotels. This one though not "historic" has been around for quite awhile without a full infrastructure upgrade. Effort could be given to modernizing lavatories and fixtures though flooring and bath/shower were modern and bath had good water pressure.

We liked the third floor room with the view of the tree over the back parking lot and watching the sunset and sunrise in the morning. It was incredibly hot. So, a quick dip in the pool was refreshing. The staff were kind and efficient. The breakfast was right up our alley. Seal, cut oats, lots of fresh fruit and nuts and seeds. Hard-boiled eggs and bagels and tea and coffee and juice. The room was clean and worn. The location is right along a major Street at so having a room at the back was quieter. Since we just stayed a night and weren't planning on going into town, it was fine and Safeway was right next door to pick up some things we needed. We chose to drive into downtown and lithia Park and take a walk. Overall, a good experience. Just surprises us these days. How much basic good accommodations like these cost.

The location was ideal, a few blocks from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Oregon Cabret Theater, next to a big Safeway and half a mile from the Southern Oregon University campus. Our car stayed parked almost the entire time we were in town, The room, facing south away from the street and toward the mountains, was quiet, well-equipped and comfortable, and breakfast had plenty of fresh and healthy options. Best of all was the friendly and attentive staff. At first the water in the bathroom sink, tub and shower got only lukewarm, that was fixed the day we mentioned it. Ditto for a slow-draining sink.

No complaints.

Cindy from breakfast 5/26 was so so kind and helped me & my boyfriend figure out the breakfast bar situation and made us fresh oats since the pot was empty and sent us with some food for the road! The night shift front desk worker was wonderful as well and was very informed about the building and where everything was and was kind enough to let us order a door dash to the building even though it was late, this is my second time here and I always feel safe and comfortable here!! Thank you all for being so kind- can’t wait to come back:)

To be honest the coffee kind of tasted like an old cigarette, but i love everything else about the place

Breakfast: The available foods for the breakfast buffet were excellent! Perfect for me, and my 13-year-old niece, both of us picky eaters. They also provided Iced Coffee on those 101 degrees days! Whew! SOOO very needed! Front Desk staff: So very friendly and helpful. My niece didn't have her iPhone charger, so they looked through their Lost & Found box & gave her one. Also - when another guest made an online Booking.com reservation at the same time as I did for the last room, the reservation person, Gaia, called me right away and rearranged the room choice.

I didn't understand the TV, but we were there for the OSF productions so that's not a big deal.

The room and beds were comfortable, with an easy to manage heating system. The location was convenient to both downtown and our son's house. Hot tub nice and hot, staff very friendly and accommodating, and surprisingly affordable.

One way I judge a hotel room is whether it has Kleenex (facial tissue) in addition to toilet paper. You made the grade, except that the tissue was very thin. More plies! I might suggest that someday you install a card system to replace the old-fashioned keys -- one advantage would be after-breakfast use of the door from Siskiyou Boulevard.

The breakfast options included yogurt and steel cut oats with multiple toppings, a variety of breads with butter or cream cheese, coffee, a variety of teas, juices, and dried cereals and fruits. The staff was exceptionally warm and friendly. The rooms are inspected after cleaning. The grand room has many sitting areas and is available for gathering to play a game or bring in food for your guests. The pool and hot tub were well cared for. Safeway is right across the street. The price was very reasonable.

I honestly have no complaints.

Very welcoming, helpful staff. Steel cut oatmeal for breakfast, and several other healthy choices (yogurt, hard boiled eggs, granola, wheat bran cereal). Took advantage of the indoor hot tub (open late, thankfully), great way to relax after driving all day and it's saline, so no awful chlorine fumes! Handy to have mini-fridge and microwave in room, and refillable toiletries in bathroom (no disposable single-use containers, yay!). Nice that I could bring my dog. Safeway across the street was useful when we needed to buy some things. Easy 5 minute walk to city center for restaurants, etc.

Didn't realize when I reserved this pet-friendly motel that there was an additional fee for a pet (probably overlooked on my part), but it was not unreasonable.

Big comfy easy chair for reading by the window with a view of Mt Ashland. Down comforter on the bed. Awesome breakfast with lots of toppings for the oatmeal and Greek yogurt, yummm. Air filter in the room. Perfect ambient temperature for me - I didn't get too hot while sleeping. Just a few blocks to the shops and theaters. This place has a great OSF vibe with posters from over the years in the stairwells and it's clear that they have a long history of providing solid hospitality. It just feels good to stay here.

Only thing was that the sink in the bathroom was slow to drain.

The room was clean, spacious, and quiet despite there being at least a couple of boisterous groups on the same floor with us, but the surprise was breakfast. The Stratford Inn has a continental breakfast buffet that we really enjoyed. I had granola with additional walnuts, vanilla yogurt, and FRESH BLUEBERRIES (where did they get those in November?). We didn't use the pool or the Wifi, but what we experienced was all good.

Okay, I'm stretching here, but the TV channel choices, as with most places we've stayed, were numerous but unimaginative and disappointing, Happily, the bed was very comfortable (who needs TV?).
