Old school architecture that takes you back to an earlier time. If you want to be able to somewhat experience what it would have been like to travel in the early half of the 20th century, you can get a sense of it here. I love the complementary hot breakfast and the staff is amazing. The location couldn’t be better.

Not a negative but travelers should be aware that this is an old hotel that has creaky and uneven floors in places. In window air conditioners and lacks fans in the bathrooms. I think it’s nostalgic, but others may not.

Breakfast room and location is wonderful, food is about standard for a hotel breakfast, staff is very attentive. Beautiful rooms and architecture, great history through out the building, photos and paintings - a real sense of being somewhere historic.

Beds had no headboard which is odd and uncomfortable. Pillows could be a little better- they were on the small side. Rooms are a little cramped but that's to be expected for this era of hotels and when it was built. Bathroom accessories did not meet the pricing of the hotel room - would expect this kind of hotel to be about $25-30 cheaper per night, it's not a 4 star and I paid 4 star prices.

The hotel is very charming because it is historic. The main lobby and downstairs dining room and bar are great. There is also a nice outdoor spot to enjoy dinner and drinks. The parking lot is easy to get to and spacious. The room was very quiet.

The room was very small, which I guess should be expected because it is historic, but there was not a lot of room to put luggage, move or sit, other than the bed.

Perfect location. Very pretty old hotel. The lobby and lounge are beautiful. Nice room with old hotel charm. It was a lovely visit and I hope to visit again.

Not many "hotel" amenities. An offering of bottled water somewhere would be nice, stocked in room fridge or in lobby, or even a bottle filling machine in lobby. Breakfast was basic but good. Was hoping to get the yummy muffins the reviews of Penn Lodge spoke of since the facilities are related.

We were looking for a downtown location that had most everything within walking distance and the hotel did have all that we needed. The beds were an okay size for the size of the room and age of the facility; we wanted historic, and we got that. Additional items needed were brought up quickly, service was good. The lobby was a fun place to have coffee and hang out.

The cold breakfast was very limited but good, the location of the swimming pool, and optional hot breakfast was located in another lodge about a block away, not a real big deal just different but they worked together and so all that was listed was offered. The only thing missing for us was a coffee maker in the room, but they provided coffee and tea starting at 6 AM so that worked well too.

The quaintness of the hotel. Very interesting. Also, the French onion soup in the lounge was excellent.

Ordered a shrimp quesadilla in the lounge, and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. It's put me off quesadillas for the foreseeable future. I also wish there was a bit more variety at breakfast. For four days, it was scrambled eggs and sausage. It was good the first two days, but got tiring.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great lobby and dining areas. Too bad lounge was closed. Breakfast was good but could have used more variety day to day.

Didn’t expect small size of room (305), furnishings were comfortable, a little worn but clean and serviceable. Could use more shelving in bathroom and a lounge type chair in room. A little disappointed that room was not styled as in 1930-40s similar to downstairs.

The historical aspect of it is amazing. It was really cool to see older stuff and introduce our 9 yr old to this kind of history. The location was also great. Easy drive to the Pa Grand Canyon and within walking distance to shops, restaurant, and grocery store.

The pool was located a block and a half away, in the lodge, but it was free for us to use.

Cheerful, fast reception desk. Early cold breakfast for those of us who had to leave before hot breakfast. (Liked the 40's Big Band music in the dining room). Outdoor lounge was a good place for dinner and drinks. Staff was uniformly congenial and helpful. Good parking. Classic old hotel which I prefer over cookie cutter chains.

I liked it all.

I love this historic place. I come to Wellsboro just to stay here. The breakfast is A+. The lobby is always stunning, and the rooms are just fine. It was hot and I had some trouble getting the room cool, but it got there. The age of the building and the rooms give it character. I'll take this place over a Holiday Inn any day.
