We have stayed here before and knew going in that breakfast was not hot. But, as always, it was delicious and adequate. We had muffins, bagels, toast, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, etc.
There was nothing we didn't like. The Black Hills motels/hotels have gone way up in costs over the past few years. The Town Hall Inn is still very reasonably priced with large rooms, excellent king size beds. antique decor to match the early years of its existence. We stay there every year when we travel to the Black Hills.

Breakfast was very small but good. Happy that we had a microwave in our room so we could make tea later in the evening. Liked the fan in the room for white noise at night. Hotel was quiet but street noise from passing vehicles sometimes intruded. Attractive building, rooms had very high ceilings. Old radiators kept the room nice and warm.
Front steps were a bit steep, but we're older. Need a grab bar in tub. Tub walls were kinda slick. Chair height toilet would have been nice.

Exceptionally clean, room was spacious, loved the high ceilings and the door locks (no key, but a simple push button code) door trim was beautiful, great microwave and small refrigerator (retro style, clean and cool) Location was excellent in the center of town, across the street from a small park and the gold mine pit. Plenty of wild deer wandering through the park. Breakfast was better than most with fruit, juice, yogurt, bagels, and large banana nut muffins! We were in room 203. No elevator but 32 steps to the 2nd floor. Beautifully appointed!
Not a complaint, but it would have been neat to have a ceiling fan. The AC in the window was a bit noisy

We stayed in the Judge's Chamber. It was a beautiful room! I loved the high ceilings and the furnishings. It was nice having a refrigerator and microwave too--it was really a mini-kitchen. It was very clean too....something I always notice.
Having to park in the back. I only say this because it was cold, windy, and raining when we came back in the evening. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been bad. It was good to have the loading area up front. There were beetles in the room. Must be a continuing problem since there was a fly swatter. Climbing the stairs might be difficult in a few more years, but I considered it good exercise!

Loved that I never had to interact with anyone face to face. All communication, check-in/out are done via text. You get codes for the front door and for your room. Then you just leave your room door propped open to indicate that you left. The room was adorable (love the old furnishings), the bed and linens were comfortable and smelled freshly laundered. Breakfast was adequate.
I think they're having a battle with whatever bug is local here. I'm sure people native to the area know what it is. looks like a skinny stink bug. we had about half dozen of them in the room

The total stay. Loved the historical feel, great breakfast choices, clean rooms and other areas, period decorations... all worth the stay. Would love to stay again!! The manager was so understanding when we had to reschedule due to a flight cancellation. That was greatly appreciated! The employee who checked us out was so nice and friendly. I enjoyed talking to her.
Would love to have seen historical pictures in the bedroom....and the fact we couldn't have stayed longer!!!

Perfect location for the fire work display.
There are spots "reserved" for the guests, but there were none available for me on the 4th, when I got there. Also I had a trailer for my side by side there was absolutely nowhere any where near the fire works I could park. I had to leave my truck and trailer at the lodge in deadwood then drive my side by side down to lead.

What a unique inn! It was definitely a break from a regular hotel. We loved the history of the building. The staff was amazing, and the room was CLEAN. We even received a text telling us that our room was ready if we'd like to check in early...than you, Sue! Not far from Deadwood, and close to highway. We would definitely stay here again!

I liked the property. Very cool and historic. We stayed in the room that had an old safe door in it! Ceilings were very tall and grand. The kitchenette was nice even though we didn't use it. It was close to everything in town, we just walked around to various business and restaurants nearby.
The bed was a bit old an dated. The bathroom also felt a bit dingy. Could use an update. The room can get very hot in the summer there is no central AC although they did have a small window unit that helped a bit.

Breakfast was good. There was a variety of foods including fruit, hard boiled eggs, and muffins. Also juice and coffee were available. The building had such old world charm that was really endearing. The rooms were a page right out of a history book! The windows were huge and beautiful, the beds were very comfortable. Hotel was clean, neat and tidy.
Something hot for breakfast would have been nice like a waffle maker but honestly there were plenty of things to choose from for breakfast.
