My mind was blown away when my husband and I entered our room. It was very spacious and exceptionally clean. We had 2 balconies. The one in the back overlooks a babbling brook which was very relaxing. From the very comfortable bed, to the coffee maker, refrigerator (and freezer) to the very spacious bathroom with hair dryer, to the iron and ironing board- we didn’t need anything! In the morning, they provide a very nice breakfast for only $5! The parking lot is huge! They had a play area with a very nice outdoor pool! There is laundry facilities and a workout room. For this price- we will be back.
The bathroom lighting is dim, so ladies- bring a lighted mirror to put your makeup on. This is the only reason I gave them a 9/10.

I love this place!! Location, river & usually the rooms.
As much as I love this place I think it’s time to change the carpets & paint all the moldings & spruce it up a bit! Love the rustic vibe & time to get new pillows & linens. Luckily we bought our own pillows & extra blankets! …… I’m sure the lower levels are used more ( for maid reasons) We’ve always stayed on higher levels. I send A lot of guest there & it’s still our favorite & pool in the summer……. I’m sure this can can be addressed…… Original Gatlinburg Finest ❤️

The creek in the back was fabulous. Being able to sit outside and just listen to it was so relaxing. The bed was very comfortable. The room was spacious and decorated nicely. Off the beaten path of the Parkway
We had the honeymoon suite. The door to the balcony did not lock. We kept a chair in front of the door. The lighting in the room is not great for putting makeup on. The bathtub has a BIG step up into it. It was difficult for us in our late 50’s. The lodge itself is not very lit up when you pull in. We almost missed it every time. The nightlights along the outside always only worked one night.

Charming even in an outdated way. Sure, maybe the bathroom door could be replaced, but the wooden log cabin-like furniture, and even the paneling on the wall made for a pleasant and charming room. I had a room with a fireplace and a balcony in the back which overlooks a fast moving large brook.Trolley stop right at the street is convenient. Staff is super friendly.
I thought a room with a fireplace would include the wood. Surprised that I had to pay extra. However, no big deal. Not too expensive for the convenience of chopped wood ready to burn.

Charming hotel with rooms that have balconies overlooking a babbling brook, fireplaces, mini-kitchen with sink, fridge, microwave. Clean, comfortable room. Friendly staff with a goody bag upon check in. Very reasonable rate. Quiet. Within walking distance of several restaurants -- try the Thai! Grocery store (Food City) short drive away.
The included breakfast was high on carbs -- pancakes, bagels, biscuits & gravy, 3 types of cereal. The only protein was milk & yogurt. Whole apples were the only fruit -- it would have been nice to have maybe bananas and easy-peel tangerines as well. OJ, milk, water, and coffee for beverages -- but no decaf.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. The balconies are private and directly over the river. The bathrooms were clean enough (no soap scum or pink mold on drains or surfaces) the beds were alright, though one of the ones in our room should definitely be replaced - it's got a huge dent in it (we didn't complain because our toddler didn't mind lol). But they were reasonably comfortable and not noisy. The pillows were wonderfully fluffy, and the sheets were decent. The extra blankets were the perfect weight for sleeping in a cool room next to the river. It was wonderfully peaceful until more guests showed up Friday night, at that point you become very aware you're in a hotel in a busy city, not a cabin tucked far away somewhere. The building is clearly aged, and has some issues you would expect. You can tell they service the rooms between guests - but the room we were in (and presumably the others as well) need a true cleanjng. There are various smudges on the walls and noticeable grime build up on the doors and places where people touch. All normal stuff and nothing that caused us any real displeasure, we've definitely stayed in worse. We will definitely be booking again, hopefully very soon.
