Breakfast buffet was wonderful, staff attentive and accommodating. All areas of the hotel inside and outside were very clean. The entire atmosphere of the hotel was one of peaceful calm. It was evident that all staff were trained to give excellent customer service, as they were very polite, kind, and helpful. The central location allowed for easy walking to your pick of cafes, restaurants, and bars. We did not rent a car and we love to walk distances, so we even trekked up to the Blanton Art Museum, the U. of Texas campus, the TX State House and Capital Mall, as well as the beautiful Austin Public Library, the Austin Visitor's Center, the Oh Henry House and the Ann and Roy Butler Trail along Lady Bird Lake. On the few days that it was too hot to walk all the way back, we took an Uber or Lyft. Front desk staff were very patient with questions and helpful with advice about places to go and things to do in the area. We were VERY pleased with our stay. Our 7th floor room was quiet and we loved the view.

Easy to check in, staff was friendly. Bed was comfortable. Price was reasonable. Included breakfast was one of the better hotel buffets I’ve had.

Parking was over $50 and honestly excessive for a paying guest. Its downtown and the homeless problem is out of control. There was a homeless man that smelled strongly of urine standing directly in front of and staring at a family that was waiting for the valet to bring their car. No staff or security was around to shoo him away and the family was getting nervous.

The room was spacious for 2 adults and 3 children. The breakfast was great and had a lot of options that changed each day, which was great for all of us, too. The location was nice and easy to access downtown attractions and cross over to South Congress. Also, our kids loved the business center in the lobby and its a nice spot to take a family photo. We ordered Uber Eats a few nights and were able to easily eat in the lobby.

The sofa bed was stiff and uncomfortable, we didn't end up using it after the 1st night. The pool was also sub-par. I also would have liked some healthier snack option in the lobby (the market across the street wasn't that healthy either).

Great walkable location, good complimentary breakfast, overall nice clean hotel

Our disappointments concerned miscommunications about the hotel. I was not made aware that the only parking option was valet parking at $57 per night plus tips. We were also excited about the indoor pool, which the receptionist told us was open until 11pm, but when we got there at 9:35 pm the card reader wouldn't unlock for us even though the sign said it closed at 10pm, so we're still not sure when the pool actually closed. Furthermore, Booking.com advertised the pool as heated, but when we finally entered the pool the next day the pool water was ice cold and the room itself was cool as well, so the pool wasn't comfortable enough for use.

Room was great and well-kept. Glad there was a mini fridge so we could store our own drinks. Built in Chromecast in the TV was also a huge plus so we could stream whatever we liked. Air conditioning was also working awesome which was a plus while it was 90+ outside.

Only major complaint was if you weren't downstairs at the breakfast buffet right when it opened in the morning it was a bit of a madhouse to get anything. Some food items would be out and as soon as they were refilled by staff people would borderline shove you out of the way for them. Not sure if there's a way to better organize a line to force people through the buffet in a more orderly fashion.

The front desk staff provided exceptional service from the moment I arrived, handling my early luggage storage and post-checkout bags seamlessly, securely, and free of charge. Their accommodating attitude and helpfulness with information about the hotel and area were much appreciated. The elevators were prompt and not crowded, while the breakfast offered a great variety of hot and cold food, with fresh coffee and ample seating. Overall, everything was clean and well-maintained, leaving a strong impression and ensuring I will stay again.

I encountered two minor issues: the stairs open to the front street, which isn’t ideal in the rain, and the water in my room took a quite while to warm up and didn't get very hot, but it was still comfortable for a shower.

Hyatt Place Austin was a good hotel with all the basics you need. Staff was friendly, bed was comfortable.

I was thinking I was booking the "fancy" Hyatt - but realise this is a basic Hyatt package. The room they gave me was lower down and looked out on a car park building. Room was very dark. Though comfortable, it just wasn't a space that felt comfortable to relax in. Perhaps my perspective was all just lack of expectation management. Otherwise, hotel was good with friendly staff in a good location.

The breakfast food was good quality (steel cut oatmeal, whole grain bread, freshly cut fruit.) But exactly the same stuff every day. We were there for 6 days. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was cleaned well daily. The location is excellent within walking distance of many restaurants, music venues, and funky places. The capitol bridge with the roosting bats is only 3 blocks away.

Decided not to rent a car since overnight parking is exorbitant. Public transportation in Austin sucks. Busses were like unicorns, there is a light rail but I couldn't tell where it went and why. Had to Uber to anywhere further than 1.5 miles.

The breakfast was fresh, plentiful and provided a lot of options, The location was great and within walking distance of most attractions. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

The overall cleanliness of the hotel is perfect. It could be due to lack of staffing but housekeeping would arrive at our room each day as we were showering and getting ready to go out for dinner. Usually between 5-6 pm. The housekeeping cart was on our floor when we left in the morning and we typically were out for the day so not sure why we were prioritized at the end of the day. This left our room without being cleaned for 4 days. We were able to get fresh towels. It seemed very unconventional. We did let the front desk know.

The location of the hotel was very close to the convention center. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean, daily cleaning was good. My room was at 17th floor with a beautiful city view.

There was no complimentary coffee throughout the day, since the hotel was selling starbucks coffee. There was no water refill center, you have to ask the bar personel every time so that they will fill up your water bottle. The breakfast was ok.
