The beds are heaven! And the staff are angels, every person we interacted with, especially Colin and Janice at the front desk, and our lovely server at our pool cabana on the 7th. Do you need something? Just ask, and it will arrive with a genuine smile. The building is lovely in a playful way - it appealed to my luxury-loving sister, my design-queen self, and my playful 6yo niece. And the view from our 22nd floor room was amazeballs! We were grateful during a rainy week that there were so many different food options both in-room and on the property.

Our only disappointment - only one! - was that when we stayed late one day and called housekeeping to do a cleaning/towel trade, even though we cleared our "privacy please" doorknob sign, the message we left with the automated assistant didn't lead to a cleaning. Towels arrived when we called after we came back that evening.

I was there for SXSW so there was very little time spent in the hotel. However I found it to be very quiet, with incredible rooms, great views and excellent cleanliness.

I think there is a daily charge for use of some services, regardless if you even use them or not. Maybe $35 a night but I can't remember. For this fee you apparently get to spend $15 on food or drink or something. However I was never given ANY details about this whatsoever, so I essentially paid $35 a night and received nothing in return. Furthermore, the WIFI is sketchy. They try to get you to pay for it by the day. I had to ask at the front desk for a password free of charge because I was not going to pay for Wifi. On the morning of check out, at 6am no less, they cut off my Wifi while I was in the middle of a work meeting zoom, utterly bizarre. It's a great hotel but keep an eye on these things because it feels really strange.

Nice facility, easy access to self covered parking. Room felt like it was for a taller person. I am 5’2”. I could not come close to adjusting shower head. The makeup mirror was too high for me to use. I actually struggled to climb into tall bed.

The concierge sent us to a restaurant that had a minimal happy hour menu available. We specifically requested a restaurant with full menu. He knew when we were going and should never have recommended it. We were told places were an easy 10 minute walk. Took us 30 minutes without stopping. Worst concierge I’ve seen in a long time. Large conference there, so elevator stopped at multiple flors every time.

Pool is fantastic. Although it would be good if the pool bar stayed open later. It does on Fridays, but when you are there on holiday - every day is a Friday! EDIT - Oct 21, 2024. Just wanted to say that I did hear from the wonderful staff on this issue, and was able to discuss the concerns outlined below. Can forgive the oversight, given how incredibly hectic and crazy that day was with the burst main. Have discussed with them, and am happy with the resolution that was offered, which is more than fair. Fairmont will be the hotel I choose next time I'm in Ausin!

There was a burst water main in the building on the last day we were there. It flooded the lifts, and shorted the Air-Con, so our last night was spent in, what I can only describe as a Sauna. I complained to staff upon checking out, and they assured me a manager would be in touch. It's been 7 weeks, and I'm still waiting. I get it wasn't their fault, and these things happen - but I also don't expect to pay full price to stay in a room that is 100 degrees. Would have been nice for them to reach out and discuss my concerns.

The hotel is lovely. Accommodations are immaculate, LeLabo products were most impressive! Bed, pillows, are extremely comfortable, fine linens. Great night sleep due to its comfort. There are several great restaurants to choose from and a nice lounge area. The staff is pristine. Raphael, Jousef, Liz, Israel, to name a few were top notch. All the staff we encountered were very professional and welcoming. The pool bar was really nice and staff was very friendly. This is a wonderful hotel and I highly recommend Fairmont Austin! Very impressive and would stay again and again!

Loved everything!

Nice clean hotel in safe area. Bar was nice with live music with a lunch menu until 5 and bar bites after 5. Small coffee and gift shop a life saver when you can't find anything else to eat. Rooms big and spacious with comfortable beds. Pool is really nice except for staff hard to get attention to bring drinks. Need more waiters. Private cabanas are available for a big price. Get there early for open chairs at no cost. Bar open there also with food. Spa nice with great amenities, just very pricey. Tiki Bar fun on 7th floor near pool also. The front desk is mostly very helpful. Revue/Garrison restaurant food is just okay and very overpriced. Overall, it's still the best hotel downtown with awesome air conditioning!!

Ability to find places to eat in a hotel. There were long lines and wait times but there was a large convention and big wedding going on. Pool staff could be better attentive to patrons. Spa needs to indicate they will be adding 20% tip no matter how the service was. The walkway to the convention center is sketchy, not enclosed. If you're afraid of heights, don't walk on this! Construction is very annoying outside the hotel under the walkway. The front desk needs to give better directions on finding room (2 sets of elevators) and how to pay for parking. Just my opinion.

Location

House car never available Shower heads need to be changed as the current ones are generic and don’t give a luxury shower experience . Also bottles of shampoo-conditioner and body wash are cumbersome. They need to be attached to the wall and pump would be easier. No television for the entire night on first day of arrival . Said the network down but inconvenience to us as that’s not our issue and we’re never told we would be comped for inconvenience.

An absolutely beautiful hotel. Great staff and great layout of the lobby, bar and restaurant. The pool was beautiful and a great place to go and meet new people. My wife and I had an amazing time there and would definitely be going back. Also, the parking garage was perfect, with an elevator on every floor that was fast and only went up to the lobby.

There was a lot of traffic pulling into the parking lot. It was a little confusing because the traffic went around the corner and it could have been avoided if there was signage letting us know that the right is Valet parking and the left is self parking. Everyone was waiting on the Valet line not knowing.

Gorgeous hotel, beautiful room, the pool was amazing, room services were so quick and staff was professional and friendly.

The pool staff seemed a little less friendly and attentive - but maybe they were new and nervous. It was insanely hot out and our umbrella blew over because it needed to be tightened in the base but instead of tightening they just took it away and didn’t replace it - leaving us to roast. We would have loved to get a replacement to stay up there longer.

Other than the pool guards, everything was great!

I travel with a service dog and they were not going to let me go into the pool area until I said that was unlawful to even suggest I wasn't allowed. I understand rules and no dogs in the actual pool, which I told him was fine. But this is also a pet friendly hotel, which I always choose for convenience reasons, and she wears an id harness that indicates a service dog. She sat under my seat the entire time and the other guests had no problem with it.
