Brilliant hostel, I stayed for a few nights visiting hostel and came back again when I was passing. Both times the hosts were super helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to make my time in Houston amazing. The rooms are clean, and the double beds are comfortable. I was in a male dorm of six and everything was clean, room and ensuite. They provide breakfast (toast and cereal) which is a real treat and free tea and coffee. The communal areas feel like home with an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room. It makes it a great place to relax or meet other guests. The security is really great, code locks on all doors. I loved the location, free street parking in a safe and pretty area. It is mostly residential but there are some lovely parks, cafes and restaurants near by. So most places require a walk, bus, Uber or handy if you have a car. But I think everything in Houston requires a ride because it is so spread out. I used the transit tram and busses super cheap, but not many people use them, not many Texans. I would highly recommend this hostel, thanks so much for everything.

Amazing hosts: The owners of the property are extremely helpful, clear in their communication, and take great care of the place. They are a couple who inspire trust and warmth — I loved meeting them and felt very welcomed. Impeccable cleanliness and well-defined rules: The accommodation is spotless, and the rules are clear and necessary. They ensure comfort for those who value a well-organized, peaceful, and well-maintained environment. This is an important factor in maintaining the quality of the experience and keeping away guests who don’t respect the space. Excellent location: The property is very well located, with easy access to public transportation, pharmacies, supermarkets, and other essential services. This made day-to-day life during the stay much easier.

I loved the area, it is a residential area, very quiet and peaceful, the place is really nice and well taken care of, I think it is the kind of place you’d like to come back to rest.

The only not that positive is the number of bathrooms in comparison to the number of guests, the first days it was not a problem because there were not many people but the third and fourth day it started to become a little issue, the waiting to have the bathroom available, also the fact that the bathrooms are shared between man and woman which I personally don’t like, and on previous hostels I’ve been, usually this is not the case.

The hostel truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the host provided clear details on how to checkin as I arrived really late and they were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and always ready to offer great tips about the area. The hostel itself is impeccably clean and well-maintained, with a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds and secure lockers for personal belongings. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail—everything from fresh linens to thoughtful touches like reading lights and charging ports by each bed. The communal areas were fantastic for relaxing or meeting other travelers. The shared kitchen was fully equipped and spotless, while the lounge had a great vibe for unwinding after a day of exploring. The property also had a beautiful outdoor area that was perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or a casual evening chat. What truly set this hostel apart was the small but meaningful extras—like free Wi-Fi that worked flawlessly, suggestions for tours and activities, and even a free breakfast. Located in a convenient spot, it was easy to explore nearby attractions and access public transportation. Whether you're traveling solo or with a group, MyCrib Houston is the perfect place to stay. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Houston!

MyCrib was, without a doubt, one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The bed and bathroom were great - spacious, always clean, and quiet. The common space felt like a real home. The kitchen was always clean and well-equipped, and Harold and Cathy offered free food for breakfast (all day). You could also find a place to work if you needed it. Great location. Just a 30-minute walk to Downtown, and public transport is super convenient too. The hosts were friendly. To be honest, I felt at home all the time, like I'd rented a house and not just a bed in a hostel. Harold and Cathy were great - super welcoming and helpful with great tips. Highly recommended!

This place really makes you feel at home! The cozy living room and the modern and well-equipped kitchen doesn’t make you feel the need to go out. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Lockers are fairly big (although my very big luggage didn’t fit..). The code-protected access (front gate, front door and room door) makes you feel safe. Hosts are super nice and available for a chat whenever they’re there! The area is central and nice, I felt safe leaving my car parked in the street at night. Great value for money!

Nothing wrong!

It has been the best hostel I ever stayed. A very clean, cozy, quiet place, comfortable beds with bed lamps and sockets. The staff was nice and helpful, unfortunately, I didn't see them because of my late check-in and short stay, but they always were in contact by phone and left me instructions for self check-in. The breakfast was good and enough for me: bread, butter, preserves, Nutella, cereals, 24/7 coffee and quite big choice of tea. Location, neighborhood is nice and safe, close to my bus stop to Austin. I really felt like at home, besides, we were just 3 guests in the whole hostel.

it was nothing I didn't like. Just called to the staff when we couldn't adjust the right temperature in our room and and about bright light outside the house.

MyCrib Houston Hostel is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood close to public transport (1 min walk to nearest bus stop and 12 min to the more frequent light rail). It is a rather small hostel with just three dorms/bedrooms, but what rooms they are! Mine offered full sized bunkbeds with nice bedding, electronic safes, and a huge, upscale bathroom with large shower and separate toilet, everything with tile or hardwood flooring. The common area is spacious, with a large flat screen tv offering Netflix and a full kitchen with a large refrigerator and all required equipment. The hosts, Harold and Cathy, are able to make this place feel like a bed and breakfast by keeping the pantry stocked with basics and really connecting with their guests, offering useful hints and tips aplenty. Besides the other great things Houston has to offer (Museum of Natural Science, Museum of Fine Arts, Rodeo...) MyCrib made my 4-night-stay truly memorable. I have done my fair share of hosteling in both Europe and the United States, but hardly ever like this. I highly recommend this place.

Nothing really.

The hostel was simply amazing. I think I have never been in such a comfortable hostel. It is basically a family house so there is a huge living room with a kitchen that even includes snacks, tee and breakfast. The beds in the dorms are super comfortable and double bed size. Also the bathroom was super nice, big and clean. The neighbourhood is more residential but well connected by bus to other areas like downtown and had some cool bars and restaurants still in walking distance. Last but definitely not least, the hosts Cathy and Harold are super accommodating and gave me some recommendations for things to see.
