Staying at the Athens Hotel in Houston, Texas was a delightful experience. The location is fantastic, close to key attractions and vibrant downtown areas. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and well-appointed with all necessary amenities. The breakfast was a treat, featuring a variety of delicious options, both continental and local. What truly stood out was the incredibly friendly and kind staff who made us feel right at home. Their warm hospitality and helpfulness added a personal touch to our stay. Do not judge the building! The customer service and location was great! It was just what we needed. George was amazing when we checked in! We planned on walking down the block to the Toyota center for our event but it was pouring rain and George offered us ponchos to have just in case because we called for a Lyft ride. In the morning John and Victor were great! They helped with taking our luggage to the car. Everyone was so nice and rooms were nice as well.

No elevator, but not a big deal because everything was great

Loved everything, property was clean and bed was so comfortable. Victor Mendoza was an awesome guest host. He made sure we had everything we needed and welcomed us for our stay. My kids loved it and wanted to stay longer just because of Victor and how welcoming he was. We only stayed one day but it was a great one day thanks to Victor.

Downtown Houston 10 minutes from the George R Brown Convention Center which was our destination. Room was clean and well maintained. We were given bottles of water on check in. The manager was so sweet, carried my bag up the stairs for me, explained entry of door,

No elevator. That would be the biggest complaint of all. Cars used the street in front of the hotel as a racetrack. After all traffic settled, the rest of the night was peaceful and great. Shower was clean, hot water plentiful.

Don’t let the outside fool you . Inside is very clean and comfortable suit . Very nice kitchen and beds were clean so was restroom . You can tell they are short staff but when I tell you they treat you like family they do ! They try their best to make you feel so welcomed!! I will be going back ! Wish they had a pool for the kids

The staff was great. Really friendly people and made us feel welcome. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to our show at the House of Blues and feel safe. This was my first hotel stay since before Covid and it was fine. I would stay here again just for the staff and the location.

The added fees were somewhat surprising. I expected a few taxes but online my $124 room jumped up to $181. When we got there more fees were added by the facility. $32 more in fees which made it now $213 paid for a $124 room. The charge that did really bother me was the $15 dollar (which I was told they discounted) for parking. It was a two block walk from the parking lot to the hotel in over 100 degree heat. My friend and I are in pretty good shape so we were up to it, but anyone older or needing some assistance would find this unacceptable.

The room cute. Nice, clean,working appliances. VERY HOMEY. The mirror in the bathroom was high tech, too. My favorite was the pillow… the best pillow I ever had. Also, this hotel is like hidden. You wouldn’t notice that it was a hotel until you peek through the door.

Location is prime for downtown venue convenience. Room was comfortable and small kitchenette would have been used to our convenience had we stayed more than 2 days. We flew in, but parking right across the street ( meter parking).

The hotel does not offer breakfast as advertised. But the location was convenient for me. The fridges in the room very helpful but the stoves need to be cleaned inorder to be used. They smoked too much upon turning on. Last but not least there are cockroaches. Otherwise the staff is great and housekeeping is good. The carpets in future might need an upgrade.

Fine location near the convention center. Actually very quiet compared to a major chain hotel nearby. Very relaxing sleeping environment . Fully equipped kitchen, bring your own “groceries”. Clean, no bugs. A/C, ceiling fan, nice TV, WI-FI Access , all pluses.

I was prepared to check out at 7:30 AM but the office does not open until 8:00 AM so I sat in the lobby for 30 minutes. Only a minor irritation as I was in no hurry. Wish there was a soft drink machine in the lobby.
