We had a memorable stay at Shirley’s Bed & Breakfast. Our suite, The Lavista, was very large with lovely decor, a very comfortable king sized poster bed and a beautifully appointed bathroom. The views from the window of this lovely property were very nice and we enjoyed the heated in-ground pool. The hosts, Jeff & Cheryl, were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Cheryl’s delicious breakfast choices and homemade bread items were a real treat. Full time availability of tea, coffee, wine, beer, water and snacks was an appreciated plus. Jeff’s collection of interesting cars was a treat for my car-loving husband.

Absolutely amazing place. The loveliest owners, and just stunning. The rooms were huge, beds super comfy and breakfast was brilliant. We stayed here on a roadtrip of the US and were gutted we didn't have more time to spend there. Will be sure to stay again in the future for a longer period of time and really get to enjoy it to it's fullest. Thanks so much guys x

It was a delightful weekend! Everything was perfect: the room, the bed, the pool and the breakfast! What a breakfast! Everything fresh and full of flavor! I have celiac and Shirley made me a delicious gluten free pecan bread that I even got the receipt. Thank you for making our weekend in Roanoke unforgettable!

This B&B was one of the best ones I’ve ever been to. Jeff was very helpful when we arrived, Cheryl’s breakfast was awesome, the property was beautiful and as described. We also had to change the date of our stay due to an issue with our motorcycle and needing to get it repaired before continuing on our trip. They were very accommodating and had no issues with switching the date to the following night since we were stuck .

Great but short stay at Shirley's B&B! Not too far out of Roanoke, but quiet and peaceful. Amazing log home with plenty of space to be on your own or among the other guests. We only stayed one night but would highly recommend for longer stays. Lovely outdoor space including a heated pool! Our Inn-sitter Gail was wonderful and very helpful and welcoming. An amazing breakfast and lots of extras (wine, beer, snacks!) Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Lovely hosts who were very welcoming. The room was huge and the furnishings were unique. Breakfast was cooked to order and accommodated any specific requirements. Extremely relaxing and a great stopping point for a journey along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Incredible stay at Shirleys. Such a beautiful house and so comfortable. Felt so welcome and hosts are amazing and we didn't want to leave. Breakfast was so delicious 😋 Best stay we have had! Would love to come back in the summer.

The owners made us feel so welcome. They were very prompt when we called making a request. The conversation was wonderful with the owners and other guests. The place was beautifully decorated. We had our own entrance and exit if we wanted. There was plenty of porch to sit outside and enjoy the view from. It was overall jsut what we wanted!

Shirley's B&B was a pleasant surprise, only a few miles away from 81, but nestled in a very lush, quiet mountainside. We've stayed in many B&B's over the years, but my husband and I agree that Shirley's was by far the best experience we've had in one! The home is a pristine, beautifully kept log cabin, with wide open concepts and lovely, large rooms. We didn't want for snacks or drinks---my husband was even offered a beer when we arrived! We woke up the next morning to total peace, with an irresistible aroma of freshly baked pecan cake wafting up to our room from the open kitchen downstairs. We shared our breakfast with the other guests in a familial, easy atmosphere, ending with a bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace from one of our fellow guests. We hope to repeat the experience next time we are in Roanoke!

Cheryl and Jeff are consummate hosts, and wonderful company. From booking to check-in/check-out, everything was handled perfectly. Breakfast was a highlight, and the company was so enjoyable. We especially appreciated the mini bagpipe concert given by Don, (one of the other guests). That on a mountaintop setting transported us. The property is lovely. The two room suite was immaculate, and the bed so comfortable that we wished we could have slept later. The pillows were a dream, so so comfortable. We loved the patio just outside the suite's sitting room area, that overlooks the pool and the forest behind. Unfortunately, we were only able to stay the one night, but look forward to a time when we might stay a few days or more, to experience all that the Roanoke area has to offer. Finally, we want to thank you both, Cheryl and Jeff, for making us feel as welcome as family, and sharing your beautiful property.

There was not a single thing that did not like. Everything was beyond our expectations.
