Perfect stay at an off-season budget rate the Bassett Motel was everything we hoped it would be for our one night in Williamsburg. City Bar-B-Que was right next door, for easy dining selection. Food Lion was a short walk away for grocery pick-up, and the facility was quiet for the over-night. Rooms have direct parking lot entry, all on ground level. We arrived by bicycle, and we're a little early, yet we're accommodated with immediate check-in. No issues on our stay, and all amenities were working in our room. I would stay again.

The shower hot water could have been a little warmer. No cold water was used.

Location was excellent! Only a few miles from Busch Gardens, which was nice when we spent 2 days there. Room was very quiet and away from road noise - even the train wasn't too bad, once we realized the tracks were across the road. Wifi was good and TV worked great.

Booked the two queens - my daughter's was softer and more comfortable. Mine was a bit too firm for me and my bad hip. Would have liked more than two large towels and wash cloths, especially as we did not have daily housekeeping.

For being an excellent economic option, we went for the December holiday and burning lights. We went walking with my wife from Colonial Street at 8pm and everything was fine. Perfect to spend one or two nights, easy access, soap is needed in the bathroom but everything else is fine. The TV and everything Excellent . If you are from 5-star places and someone picky you may see something else .. to pass the time good option

There was no soap to bathe,

It was everything we needed. Clean and tidy, with no odors. Nice hot shower. Comfortable beds. Safe area. Quiet. Good air conditioning. Sure, some things were a little out of date, but everything we needed was on point.

The deadbolt chain wasn't functional (room 14) but it really wasn't an issue. We felt very safe.

For a low cost option in Williamsburg, this is the best one I've found so far: very clean, safe and comfortable. I took a queen room based on the reviews (very positive for queen; iffy for double) and was very pleasantly surprised. It is a two star and low cost so don't expect breakfast or new furnishings, but it has everything you need and is pleasant.

This is a no-frills motel that seems to be family-owned, and it looks like they take great pride in it as the rooms are always comfy and clean, and I suspect they may have even renovated recently a little bit. The staff is friendly, and they have plenty of flyers in the front desk advertising coupons and things to do in the area. It’s very close to colonial Williamsburg, William and Mary, Busch Gardens, and Water Country.

They just seemed a little confused about whether or not, I had paid for the room already, but that was sorted out easily with a quick phone call. Also, I didn’t really like the way the toiletries that they provided smelled, but that is literally such a minor detail. Other than that, I didn’t really have any complaints.

This is an older motel, with some wear and tear, not a big fancy chain motel. We have no issue with that and usually prefer older establishments. We need clean and comfortable, at a moderate price. It was in a perfect location, adjacent to stores, restaurants and tourist attractions but on a quiet main road which was nice. The lady who checked us in was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable, so much so that I didn't want to get up in the morning! It had the basic amenities...tv, ac/heating unit, microwave, fridge, shampoo and soap. The price was excellent. We wanted a decent, clean and comfortable place to rest our heads for the night and this was a great choice. We would stay here again!

Nothing! It is not the Ritz Carlton, but it met our needs and was comfortable. We used the extra money we saved to enjoy a local seafood buffet!

For the price you really can't beat it. Everything was neat, tidy, clean, and easy. I had no problems and everything worked well.

For me, the bed was waaaaaaaaaaay too soft, but that's pretty much any place I go to. The toilet was also on the small side for a compact bathroom, so heavier-set people may not like it so much.

Looked a bit sketchy from the outside, but the room was comfortable and very clean. Good wifi connection, and I appreciated the refrigerator and microwave. Staff members were very helpful. Location is very convenient for getting to Jamestown or Yorktown. Price was great.

Wish there had been coffee.

It was very close to Busch Gardens less than 10 minutes. Although it doesn't look like much it was very clean and the area was nice and quiet.

I wish it had more than one trash can per room.
