The hotel's location was perfect; it was close to some of the most important landmarks and easy to walk to, with a good variety of places to eat around the hotel. The size of the room was perfect, and everything was spotless. The bathroom is a little old compared to the rest of the hotel, but it has nice sheets and pillows, and the view from the room is lovely. The window through which natural light comes in is small, so the room was dark.

Expensive for the size of the room. No breakfast is available within the hotel. They charge me for receiving an amazon package, first time ever and I travel a lot.

It was a little pricey. Felt nickel and dimed with destination fees. We also had an emergency evacuation occur at 1:30am. I only saw about two staff members downstairs after the fire department said we can go back inside. My family evacuated out the side of the building from the third floor to the street across from the plaza. It looked like more people were directly outside the front of the building. That may be where the staff were located? It looks like the fire alarm was a false alarm but we were not given any information.

You are paying for location here. Hotel is positioned close to Smithsonian and White House. Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms are smaller than they appear online but are comfortable and clean.

You pay for EVERYTHING. Parking our car for 3 days was over $200 and is NOT included in hotel fee. There is a $32 destination fee for each night. They offer to compensate that by using it towards room service or tickets to other attractions. Our trip was booked up in terms of tours so we had no use for the extra attractions. $5 charge for room service. No free breakfast. It started at $27 per person. Also, TV doesn’t have very many channels unless you are a sports fan. No premium channels at all. After a day packed with sightseeing, would have been nice to have more viewing options to relax to at night. Only other negative was the bath robe and towels were hard and stiff. Not a pleasure to wear or use. Beds and sheets however were very comfy.

Upon booking, we asked for a room on the upper levels and away from the elevator since we were traveling with our 7 month old baby. The hotel was able to accommodate and it was pleasantly quiet. I loved the elevator system. You put in the floor you want to go to, and the system tells you which elevator to wait for.

(1) Upon booking, we asked for a crib for our room. We got an email confirming that they can provide us a pack n play. But upon check in, we were informed that they had already given out all of their pack n plays. (2) The phone tree is annoying AF. I just want to speak to a representative!! (3) The bathroom door is frosted glass so it’s impossible to have the bathroom light on without flooding the room with light. (4) The shower water pressure was terrible (but not surprising given how big the hotel is). (5) The app they encourage you to download and use was worthless. I couldn’t connect my account and the reservation for some reason.

Location is fantastic, close to the main places we have planned to visit. Rooms were at a decent size, organized and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Elevators are very easy to use and efficient.

Water pressure on shower is low / or.. it could be a bit higher for a better comfort. Cost for parking is just too high. Receipt given at the check out process is too confusing and very hard to understand.

We had a second floor room. It was comfortable though the desk chair was a bit hard with sitting down and trying to plan out our ventures for the day. The concierge was very helpful in helping book a tour as well a location to eat.

The elevators were a little different at fist and took a few times to understand. The parking was expensive, was nice to be able to park the car and just walk but at $150 for 2 nights seems a lot.

Location was fantastic. Hotel is very beautiful.

My only complaint is that our room smelled. Our arrival on our first night, the smell was so bad that we asked for another room. Hotel staff wouldn't come up to the room to investigate. They said that they would look at other options. The smell persisted during our entire stay. I am not sure if it was the cleaning supplies that were used, but every time we opened the room door, we were hit with this awful smell. We became accustomed with the smell after the first day, but it was still strong when we returned to the room at the end of the day.

Very excited to be in this location. I'd been to DC before but everthing I wanted to see this time, JW was the perfect location. First night was on the first floor and I really wanted something higher up. The manager was very accomodating and was willing to move us the next day up to the 7th floor and it was perfect. Even on the first floor, you're one story up so honestly, we could have stayed there had there been no availability to move. We were right along 14th and I thought we'd hear traffic all night long. It was so quiet! Couldn't hear a thing from outside.

the staff was great from start to finish. they had to fix my reservation at check-in due to Booking.com error. they mailed my postcard for me and it arrived in Alabama in just a few days. the food was good in the restaurant. and a flower for my wife on Mother's Day.

The staff was SO curteous and helpful. We really appreciated that! The hotel is very centrally located, right by the White House. The entire place was very clean, and the bar has a really great cocktail menu! There is a resort/amenity fee that is charged for each room, but the value for that was pretty great! We got credit to spend at the bar and two tickets for the moonlight trolley tour around DC.

The "Monument View" from some of the rooms that offer that as an upgrade is more of a partial view, because the rooms face West and the monument is South. Very minor issue though. Not enough to detract from all of the things we liked.
