The hotel is beautiful, staff was so friendly, food and drinks were delicious and we were so glad we could bring our dog. The rooftop bar is amazing and the hotel is centrally located making it an easy walk to the river front and other bars and restaurants. I love not being dependent on our car on vacation!

I feel like other hotels of this caliber and price point we have stayed at have had a few more amenities like robes and mini bars in the rooms. We ordered room service on our last morning and it was late and the fruit plate cover wouldn't come off, which wasn't the greatest note to end on. But overall it was a nice stay!

We stopped in LaCrosse on our way to Minneapolis on a Sunday evening. We were given a room upgrade to a suite for 50% off given the time of year. We enjoyed the giant claw foot tub and the rain shower. The king-size bed was lovely and our balcony had nice views of the Mississippi. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, it was exceptional and both times our server was funny and attentive! Oh, and the chocolates we received at check-in were amazing.

Not a thing -- it was perfect!

The entire hotel has an ambiance that captures you as first walk in. From the "candy store counter" at the front desk to the original building's wood plank floors, one knows they have entered a historical site. The old brick and hewn timbers seem to take one back in time, yet you feel the great comfort of a five star hotel. The bed was very comfortable giving a great night's restful sleep. The dining was excellent in both your restaurant and lounge ./ bar area. I would gladly stay at the Charmant again. My two day stay was delightful.

Perhaps the elevator not working, but things like this happen. Your concierge put me on the second floor which was helpful for me. Thank you!

Did not eat breakfast. Liked the ambiance, the decor, the room space, Ethan at the front desk, chocolates given at check-in, and coffee in the morning.

Shower…lovely space, but no anti-slip flooring, no grab bars in shower (only had inside handle to shower door that would move if you grabbed to prevent a fall). ALL rooms should have this in their bathrooms, not just accessible. And, did not like the shower door near the water so you could not get correct temperature without getting cold water on them.

We’ve stayed here on a number of occasions and this visit wasn’t the usual friendly, go-out-of-their-way staff. It was bare bones with no valet when we arrived or when we went out at night. Just in general only front desk. It felt like no manager on duty all weekend and the kids were on their own. Not bad but not really present either

Love the location and roof top bar. Love the vibe at this hotel.

The care of the room was not what it has been in the past. Body wash and hair conditioner were very low/empty and not refilled. Ran out of tp and had to request from front desk. Room service menu was not replaced after using it the night before in order for us to place another order for the next morning. Did not refill the fridge with two more waters as they have in the past. Slow to refresh room. Left for a few hours and returned to the room to find it still not cleaned and because of our schedule being in the room on and off for the rest of the afternoon, it was not refreshed that day.

It is a beautiful property with a great location.

The rooftop bar staff was horrible. We waited for a long time for a drink and ended up leaving. The bar manger was sitting at the bar and knew we were there. He got behind the bar to help and waited on people that customers that came immediately a great deal after us. He knew we had been waiting. No one acknowledged that they would be with us shortly or apologized for the wait.

The staff were great. I loved how they kept the old quaint touches from the chocolate factory days and combined it with the new. Getting chocolate was a plus! Breakfast was very good except for fresh fruit which was a bit spoiled.

Breakfast was delicious and priced very reasonably. The rooftop bar was fun and a perfect end to a nice summer day. The coffee bar was excellent. Overall, we walked everywhere and attended everything from park events, shops, bars and restaurants. Wonderful location!

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like during our stay.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The architecture throughout the building was amazing. I really liked the old style elevator floor indicator! I had a mocha in the morning in the coffee at The Parlour and it was excellent!

I thought that pricing for food and beverages was more in line with what I would expect to pay in a larger market like Milwaukee, but other than that there were no major drawbacks.
