Location was excellent, walking distance to everything I planned to do while in Milwaukee, so I parked my car in the hotel parking when we arrived and left it there until it was time to go home again. Being able to bring our puppy with us was a huge bonus, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches of providing pet bowls and extra poo bags in the room in addition to the regular human supplies/toiletries. Day before check in we got a message with the door code to get in the building and our room and general information on what to expect, then the day of we got a payment link for the added cost to the room besides what we had already paid thru Booking (the pet fee and the parking charge). The building is evidently monitored since I got a welcome message right after we got in, but we didn't really need any help so we never saw anyone besides other guests, and apart from daytime construction on the next block the area was pretty quiet. The Dubbel Dutch building is super cool with lots of original features- woodwork, stair railings and paneling, tile work at the entrance, etc. The layout is definitely adapted from the period construction with both front and back staircases for each side of the double house, but easy enough to navigate with signage. The room was nice and clean, and the newer fixtures and finishes all complemented the Historic character nicely. The A/C was effective and kept us comfortable.

The ceiling panel in the room that was added to hide electrical and sprinkler lines could use a cosmetic touch up to blend in a bit better. Also it would have been cool to stay when the cafe space on the first floor was operating but I guess we will just have to come back :)

Big comfortable bed, room is well dressed.

The bathroom mirror is set so far back it's impossible to do your makeup. Then the standing mirror is by a window so you can do one side of your face. The TV is app based so you have to make a decision, no flipping. The coffee machine is pods, so wasteful. I like the concept of self check-in and minimal staff but I don't need multiple emails and text messages. Then the instructions are only partially tailored to the guest, so there's a full set of details not relevant and just make it harder to figure out what you have to do.

I loved the building and amenities. The hotel is a "silent service" type, so there is no on-site staff, but the communication is very detailed and thorough. It allows for a more intimate experience, especially if you are staying as a couple and prefer privacy and quiet. The hotel was also only minutes from all the places that we had planned on going to during our stay.

I was a little bummed that the bar was closed because it would have been nice to have a little night cap to enjoy the beautiful community area but we were informed that it would be closed so we will just have to come back another time! Didn't ruin our overall experience by any means though.

Everything was wonderful except the 2 flights of stairs and we knew there was no elevator. Next time we will get a 1st floor We met Rachael when we arrived a few minutes early and she was very accommodating, helping my husband with his suitcase and our cooler and also let us in 5 minutes early. She answered a lot of our questions, she was great!

This place was so unique and beautiful inside and out. The location was walking distance to everything, but especially the Art Museum. We had 6 rooms booked and they were all unique.

I wish the bar would not have been closed for private events. It looked quite nice

Location was great, near Lake Michigan abc close to Veterans Park. Lots of good bars and restaurants nearby.

No one is onsite but a text message with a question was answered very promptly.

It very nice older building but just a little loud. Stairs and floors make noise when walking around and you can hear others fairly easily talking in other rooms

Property was charming and had so much character. Loved that there were seating areas that our group could gather at instead of being crammed in a small room.

3 of the 4 rooms we booked the air conditioning didn’t work. It was over 75 degrees the entire time which was awful.

The hotel was clean, comfy, and safe. There was great communication with the staff even though it was an invisible service hotel. Plus, the location was perfect and it was well priced. Highly recommend!

Location, quiet, clean and beautiful building

The shades didn’t block out the significant light streaming in from nearby construction and parking garage lights. Curtains are needed.
