Great location--close to the free Milwaukee streetcar ("The Hop") and/or walkable to a lot of things. If you don't want to walk Uber was usually less than $10. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Full kitchen including full-sized fridge. I didn't cook (just used microwave and toaster) but could have--dishes and cookware were included. Grocery store nearby. Window air conditioner and ceiling fan were excellent--the room was always as cool as I wanted it to be. Water pressure in the shower was really good.

Cafe is busy on the weekends so I had about a 30 minute wait for brunch on Sunday. They don't provide housekeeping regularly--I was staying for 9 nights so I got housekeeping once (I could pick the day but it could only be certain days.) I think that's a common thing now with most hotels since the pandemic.

Locatiion was great, we walked to reatuarants and to riverside walk only 11 mins walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The other guests were noisy on occasion. Room next to us held a bridal shower (?) At 7.30 am with ladies screaming in excitement on entering waking us up. Next day guest for same room arrived middle of night around 1.30am with other members of group knocking on door and chatting in outside voices several times uptil 3.30am. This not hotels fault this is ignorant people not observing the late or early time and speaking in hushed tones so not to disturb other guests. Maybe signs up to remind people to respect others by being quiet during sleeping hours like they do in "Sleep Inn" hotels. Also no lift and we had large cases which was difficult to get upstairs.

I loved my stay at The Plaza! The refurbished room was large, with a kitchen (full oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, Keurig coffee maker). Nice bathroom, soft towels, comfy bed, and the inclusion of a bathrobe and slippers was wonderful! The location was great! Close to several restaurants (the Indian directly behind the hotel - called The Turmeric Cafe, I believe - was particularly good!). The Plaza Cafe inside the hotel was also awesome, and I had a delicious brunch there. Parking directly behind the hotel was convenient and affordable ($15 a day).

Nothing. The stairs may be an issue for some - so be aware there is no elevator. However, this was not a problem for me at all.

The queen suite was well equipped with a very comfortable mattress and pillows, air conditioning that was not too freezing, a good ceiling fan, excellent overhead lighting in the room and bathroom, black-out shades, space to open up three suitcases, a very large safe that fit two laptops and camera equipment, a yoga mat, umbrella, big drawers, and a fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge, stove, oven, microwave and Keurig coffee maker. Parking was convenient and inexpensive ($15/day), and the staff at the front desk were always pleasant and helpful. We didn't have the chance to try the café, but we have heard it's fantastic.

The kitchen area was sparsely equipped (only two of each item - glasses, plates, silverware...). No toaster. No armchair, although there was a small sofa and coffee table. Toiletry items were not replaced each day, and one tiny bottle of shower gel for two people and three nights just isn't enough. There was also a very funky smell in the corridors, I'm sure due to the age of the hotel and the carpeting, but it did not affect the rooms in any way.

We had a room 136 it had a kitchenette - basic but great. The bedding and cleanliness was amazing. The Hotel is over 100 years old, so while there are updates there are still some very unique elements. Parking was great and we had in and out privileges. Location is really great. They are right next to Metro Market too if you are staying for a period of time. The Hop is down the street as well as the Bus routes. We didn't visit the Cafe but it looked wonderful.

Our only issue was the radiator heating, aside from noise bc that's what radiators do, it was very HOT in our room. I don't really know where the controller was, we think we lowered it but it was so hot no matter what we did.

The room was spacious and clean—everything looked updated. The pictures on this site don’t fully do it justice. It was a very nice updated spacious room. More like a studio apartment than a hotel room. The cafe downstairs had a great breakfast. Coffee and water always available in the lobby.

The shower didn’t drain on our first morning—but we spoke with the front desk on our way out and it was taken care of immediately.

we love this hotel! we have stayed here many times for Summerfest. it’s about a 20 minute walk to the festival grounds. The area is nice & quiet, but you can easily walk to Brady St., the Third Ward, & the lake shore. The rooms are very nice. We don’t cook, but we like having a fridge. the restaurant is very good.

Our room was directly up the stairs from the cafe/restaurant. We had a screaming child and servers scrapping dishes that echoed up the stairs waking us up at 7:30 am after a long day/evening celebrating our sons college graduation. For the price of the room I should not be awoken very loud.

Well located property - the room was beautiful with windows all around and a fully equipped kitchen and large fridge which was very useful. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Probably an oversight but our toilet hasn’t been cleaned. The main building is old and has a strange smell (can’t be smelt from the room though) - and no elevator which we were informed about beforehand- so no complaint there
