Exceptional experience! It was our wedding anniversary and the staff did their best for us during our stay to celebrate this day - like giving us flowers, box of heart shaped chocolate and a very cute hand written card. Also our room was upgraded to a better one, which was also very nice. The breakfast was amazing - lots of food to choose from and also the place where it is served is very beautiful. The room was always super clean, the staff attentive and friendly. So definitely can recommend for anyone coming to Hanoi to enjoy some peace and quiet in the bustling town. Also it was interesting to participate in the tour of the hotel and to see the history behind this building. Would love to come back here again! Definitely a great value and a real five star experience.

The room was a little bit too small, basically just bed and a small table and chair. But since it’s a historic building in the city center it’s understandable. Also our windows were overlooking the street and it could get a little noisy sometimes. For example there were some celebrations on the street and the music could be heard until 11pm or so, and early in the morning (6-7am) we could hear the music from the small park nearby where they do tai chi. So maybe if you want a quiet night it’s better to ask for the inner garden view. However these small things didn’t influence our overall experience and all in all it was an amazing and memorable stay.

From the moment of arrival you receive the most personalised and professional service. The building and facilities are oppulent. The rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean. The hotel has managed to keep old world charm while giving an over the top comfortable and relaxing stay. The gym is modern and well equipped. The pool and bar area is stunning and supported by the most wonderful, courteous and helpful staff. The hotel offers numerous high class dining opportunities. 10/10 Is not enough for this hotel. Will return for a 4th stay next year.

This historical hotel is beautiful and it feels so special to be a guest here. It’s the second time we have stayed at Metropole and it won’t be the last! Their club lounge is one of the best we have experienced. We highly recommend it. With breakfast, afternoon tea and food with drinks during “happy hour” such as champagne, cocktails, choice of good wines etc we couldn’t ask for more. Their service is five star. The rooms are luxurious and all have the charm of a bygone era. Located close to the lake and easy to walk to restaurants and shops. They invite you to a guided tour at the heritage part of the hotel explaining it’s part during the Vietnam war. There is even a hidden bunker to step down into.

Upon arrival, the hotel kindly upgraded our rooms and offered us a very generous voucher to use in the hotel facilities. We used this voucher for airport transfer for me and my four friends, We rarely see in most hotels.

The hotel is excellent and beautiful, with a great location. Everything was very good overall. However, I have a few general comments that I hope can be improved: • The check-in and check-out were slow. Unfortunately, there was only one staff member handling this process during both our arrival and departure, which took around 15 to 25 minutes just to check in. • The next morning, the Guitar music was extremely loud and woke me up, but once I contacted the reception, they immediately turned it off. Overall, the hotel is truly beautiful, and I highly recommend staying here.

Property is stunning and the staff & service was incredible. The perfect hotel in terms of culture, architecture and overall heritage and design. A sanctuary in the middle of Hanoi. We loved the pool and the level of service from the moment you lay down to relax - with water, towels, fruit & snacks given complimentary each time. We used several of the restaurants including the cocktail bar, and we also used the spa (x2 massages) and the gym - all were 10/10. We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a birthday trip, and the team went above and beyond - providing a complimentary upgrade, birthday cake in the room, birthday card etc….. thank you so much 🙏 Staying here made our whole travel experience in Hanoi unforgettable. We will certainly return next time we visit Hanoi and will recommend this hotel to our family and friends. Thank you to the Sofitel team & management for an incredible stay & experience.

My recent stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable—attentive, warm, and genuinely thoughtful. The room was stunning, blending timeless elegance with modern comforts, making it a luxurious retreat after exploring the city. The hotel offers a variety of beautiful dining and bar options, each with its own unique ambiance and exquisite cuisine. The gym was well-equipped and maintained, perfect for staying active during my stay. The concierge service truly elevated my experience by seamlessly arranging a personalized tour, making my visit to Hanoi smooth and stress-free.

Beautiful comfort in the rooms, and the staff were fantastic. Quiet but central location.

The prices for food and beverage - absolutely ridiculous compared to surrounding establishments. We only had drinks/snacks around the pool, and a little room service. The quality was fine ( nothing special) but the prices were exorbitant ( and I live in Hong Kong!) Also, the pool is much smaller than it appears in the photos and there are far too few sun loungers. People would claim them, then disappear for hours.

This is a very good hotel and was once considered the best hotel in Hanoi.The hotel is elegantly decorated and has several excellent restaurants and bars. Prices are on the higher side, but the food is delicious. The entire staff is professional and welcoming.

Our key card coulodn't work in the elevator.As someone who is almost 60, it was embarrassing to be ridiculed by a twentysomething passenger in the elevator as if we don't know how to use the elevator.For a hotel of this caliber, such a mistake is outrageous.

As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I was overwhelmed by the old -fashioned charm of the over 100 year old hotel. I was glad to be chosen as the guest of the day and received a lovely bouquet of roses and was able to enjoy the complimentary afternoon tea and bar drinks. The room condition was fantastic and very comfortable. Also, highly recommend everyone to try the authentic egg coffee!

One small thing was that some of the lamps in the room kept flickering which was a bit annoying. Some areas in the hotel was old but was all understandable.
