Amazing pool and all the green scenery in the surroundings. It’s cool that they organize something every night and that music shuts down at 22 for people who want to sleep. Overall is great to sleep here for a couple of nights, especially if you want to have parties and care less about sleeping.

There is little control over the respect of silence time( e.g. after the pub crawl). Some people (not everyone luckily) from the staff are not very attentive and polite (this is referred to when people make orders at the pool bar). Also, I understand that in Vietnam English is not so spread but hoi an is pretty touristic, so I expect the staff to be able to have a basic conversation if I ask a question.

The dorm rooms are gigantic! I love the storage space under the bed, you can lock up your entire suitcase. The restaurant and bar downstairs makes a great space to meet people. They also have games and their pool is amazing. They also provide laundry service on site, which was fabulous! The cons: there’s no aircon or fan in the unisex bathrooms and showers. This makes it a bit uncomfortable in, coming out of the shower, still in the hot hair. They also don’t allow outside food - that’s a downside for us since we love local food and their menu is mostly catered to westerners (we’re Vietnamese).

No circulating air in the bathrooms/toilets. However, there’s always staff cleaning so it is a super clean space. Did not like their “no outside food/drinks” policy

Very social hostel. Free breakfast was egg on toast or pancakes or fruit and was decent. We stayed here over Christmas and paid for the Christmas Day deal where we got a 3 course dinner, music and free drinks for 2hr and it was definitely worth it. The food was great! It was quiet after 11:30pm ish which was nice. Recommend the cooking class & coconut boat tour too.

Our room wasn’t cleaned for 3 days when we were there despite leaving the room at 9am every day

definitely a great party & social hostel and everybody’s just so nice, the host is also very friendly & always helpful, tons of activities they arrange for you. met some amazing people too. the private room is so lovely tho on the first night we got the room with connecting door so it’s a bit noisy.

place is a bit far from center but they provided you with shuttle bus, the dorm is not very comfortable and 0 privacy, so i upgraded to private rooms which cost 10x more (not even exaggarating), it is quite “euroupean” cause im pretty sure i was the only asian traveler at during my time which isnt a bad thing but it does make you feel like youre in a “bubble”. the host and nice and friendly, but not the staff who works on the ground floor. it is a social hostel but you gotta put a lot of effort socializing since most people already know each other and already have their own groups of friends.

Loved it here in mad monkey! Me and my boyfriend did a private room but loved the hostel vibe as we got to meet people. We met loads and took part in activities such as the pub crawl the music bingo ans the karaoke and was great fun! They also helped with anything we needed like laundry or taxis go airport etc, the staff so nice and friendly and the food is lovely too and happy hour cocktails

Can be a small bit of noise a4 night but thays to he expected!

Very social, the atmosphere, staff and organisation makes it very easy to meet other people. Clean rooms, very spacious with loads of room for bags. Friendly, welcoming staff who are very knowledgeable on the local area. The staff are very good at getting to know guests and helping them to feel comfortable, especially Matt & Alyssa! Serve a very good variety of food and drinks at fair prices. Food is always fresh and tasty, cooked by locals.

Only minor thing is the location as this is slightly out of town, however the hostel cater for this very well by providing various forms of transport (shuffle buses, bike rental, moped rental)

Very social and lots of activities available. Staff were super friendly. Rooms were clean and spacious with storage underneath. Toilets very clean!

The location was just that bit too far from the old town and beach to walk so we used grab to get around

Great craic at this hostel, real good events and vibes. Pub crawl is good and staff are lovely. Room was fab, clean, bright on the 4th floor looking over the rice fields and pool. Most evenings everyone leaves around 11pm so if you want a quiet night it’s also an option. Private rooms come with use of a free push bike if you want to explore without a scooter.

Food wasn’t great in comparison to other mad monkeys. A lot of the food was fried in what we think was butter. Breakfast and coffee were excellent.

Location, staff .

If I stay 4 days here , I pay advance charge , I pay deposit for key and they need extra deposit for bicycle charge that is I'm not like it because my belonging my passport everything is there and I need ready for payment day charge of bicycle. Why you need extra deposit who stays in your hostel . I totally agree same maybe don't agree my statement but I travel lot I never see like this for every think you have to deposit advance. Rest of think good .

This place is like a jungle of mad monkeys! It makes you comfortable immediately when you enter, has a great vibe and the atmosphere is so lively. The poolside is awesome for playing, chilling or sipping your favourite drink. The events are quite fun. Shoutout to the staff for maintaining such a happy place!
