If, like me, you have read hundreds of hotel reviews, checked Google maps, read more reviews and still don’t know whether to book, I hope this helps! I booked Palm Garden and was still worrying right up until the day we arrived. However the minute we checked in I was instantly reassured that I’d made the right choice. The location of the hotel is fantastic. Right on the beach, 12 mins approx to Hoi An old town by taxi ( approx €1.50 in a grab taxi - definitely download the app) and its in a small village with restaurants & little bars 30 seconds walk away. The local restaurants also provide same day laundry service ( we got laundry done a few times and it worked out approx €6 for two big bags each time) The grounds of the hotel itself are really beautiful. Immaculately maintained and so clean. The pool area is better than I expected -really good size and the lifeguards, particularly Vu are excellent and so friendly. The beach is stunning. We stayed in a beach view bungalow and it was incredible to wake up to the amazing sunrises, listen to the sound of the waves and jump in for an early morning swim just a few steps away from your bed! There are also tennis courts, a small games room with a table tennis table, billiards table and darts, a gym and a little kids area with soft play- perfect places to escape the sun and heat with little ones. The website photos don’t do the place justice. I had been worried about building work that people had mentioned and there is a large hotel to the right as you’re looking at the sea that is under construction at present. We didn’t hear any building work during our 8 nights there and it didn’t impact on the views on the beach at all. If you’re concerned you could request a room/ bungalow on the other side of the resort though. The breakfast here definitely deserves a mention. It was the best breakfast in any of the hotels we stayed in during our three week trip.

The only negative and it’s a minor one is the wet room set up in the beach bungalow. The water from the shower really does go everywhere!

Fantastic resort. Beautifully maintained, gorgeous gardens. Our garden view room was very comfortable and spacious. Beautiful pool. Walk into beach. Excellent Japanese restaurant that does Teppanyaki. Beautifully presented. 3 restaurants in total. Food in all is very good. The breakfasts are fabulous with a wide selection. Friendly staff.

We were very disappointed by the manner in which guests occupied the sun lounges around pool and beach by “booking” them before they went for breakfast by placing a book or personal item and preventing other guests from using the sun lounges. The same guests would have same lounges all day even when they were not in the pool area. They kept their books or swimming costumes on beds. Whilst difficult for the poor pool guy to manage, I think management could put up a notice around the pool or advise guests on check in that this is not acceptable. It’s would empower the pool guy to remove guest items from lounges making them available for others.

You can tell a good hotel by how the staff react when something goes wrong. There was an incident that meant they had to change the breakfast location. Within 15 minutes they were serving customers and withing 30mins you wouldn't have known there was an issue. Amazing. This backed up the warm welcome and professionalism of all the staff at all times.

I think they could experiment with onsite restaurants at different price points. They don't have an offer that competes with the great restaurants that are one minute walk across the street. One night our hotel drink was more than the cost of the meal over the road.

Palm garden is by far one of the best hotels I have ever staid at. It lives up to all expectations and most certainly offer a 5 star experience. The staff is outmost welcoming and kind. They always strive to provide the very best service, and they succeed in doing so. The facilities are very nice and the Vietnamese interior is stunning. The hotel feels spacious and exclusive. You are never cramped too close to other people. This goes for the beach area, pool area and the restaurants. The food is also 5/5 and the Vietnamese cuisine was delicious. The spa facilities are also very welcoming and nice. At Palm Garden you get what you pay for, and even more so. Thanks for making our vacation and stay to a memorable experience! Until next time!

Right on the beach, this is a large hotel complex, with multiple buildings spread through extensive grounds. The breakfast buffet is huge and has just about everything you could think of. It is very busy, but there is room for everyone. Our room was plain, but clean and comfortable. Strange 'open' bathroom with shutters across and a blind to draw down. So, all the sounds from the bathroom could be heard in the bedroom... a bit weird. Nice big balcony, but for us it was too hot to sit out. Water bottles provided daily. Pool was very big, but much to warm to be refreshing! There were good bars on the beach and an open restaurant. Cabana/brollies/sun beds all very good down by the beach. The ocean was very clear and clean. Really lovely. Happy hour from 5pm for a couple of hours, which then moved to the bar near reception until about 8:30pm. Very good cocktails. Grab taxis not always easy to get hold of, to get to town. That's about a 20min ride and costs about 100,000D normally. The spa was very good - there was a discount voucher at check-in, which helped. Hoi an is a great town, but VERY busy and touristy. Overall a very very nice hotel and would recommend.

The breakfast service was always VERY busy and there were often no tables, but it took just a few minutes to clean and set up a new table. We got the hotel to book us scooters for the day, but it was a disaster - ran out of fuel before we got to the first petrol station, then the ignition broke. Rubbish. We got our money back, but the hotel refused to help us again, to get other scooters from a different place. Very disappointed with that service. The pool was lovely, but the water was like a bath - nothing they can do about that in July, but we went to the beach instead. Often difficult to get a taxi at this location, for short journeys. You may need to get one of the cabs parked at the hotel, on the meter...

Facilities are amazing, staff so attentive and breakfast selection is huge and tasty. The staff knew this was our honeymoon trip and they decorated the room so nicely and prepared us a happy honeymoon cake. We also had fresh fruit drinks and snacks throughout the day in the lobby and had our rooms made twice in a day - with a lovely cookie left on our desk in the afternoon. We left for a tour really early one morning and really appreciated that the staff prepared us breakfast in our room when we got back. Highly recommend this resort for the amazing customer service.

More shuttles to the ancient town would be great

This was our second time staying in this wonderful resort. Beautiful gardens, expansive pool with plenty of deck chairs, good variety at buffet breakfast and great happy hour prices at the beach bar. We were a family of 8 and booked a building with four deluxe Seaview rooms and were allocated the same rooms as our previous visit. We used the free bikes to cycle to nearby coffee shops each morning and used Grab to visit the old town each evening for dinner. We played tennis, used the gym, enjoyed the spa services, and used the kids club and babysitting services for our 2 yr old granddaughter. We will definitely visit again.

Beautiful setting, nice facilities and the staff are very attentive. The buffet breakfast is a highlight😀 Special praise must be given to Ms Hong who looked after us every day in the restaurant. She was very attuned to our needs and nothing was too much trouble to her.

The restaurant has dropped the DIY Bahn Mi from the breakfast buffet. This was a highlight of our previous stays. In spite of its online claims Palm Gardens does not have a staffed kids club and activities for children are very limited. We were seriously considering bringing our whole family including small grand children here (11 pax) for a family holiday but this is a deal breaker. It’s surprising that this isn’t seen as a priority by management given the international competition by resorts for families.

My wife and I stayed for 8 days at this marvelous garden resort. It is truly a beautiful garden, with two and three-story buildings nestled among palm trees and a tranquil blue swimming pool located in the center. Beach recliners and umbrellas line the pristine sandy beach, making it a wonderful vacation spot. We particularly admired the architecture of the breakfast hall and beach bar. The resort staff worked tirelessly to ensure that we received the best services. After our 8-day stay, we would like to mention a few names of managers, waitresses, and lifeguards. Although we can’t remember all the names, everyone was equally excellent. In addition to their busy daily management work, Vy and Dung helped organize our unforgettable birthday dinner. Thi, who we affectionately called the “coconut manager,” very nice person, provided us with a unique “coconut experience.” Tram tirelessly showed us rooms for our future stay. Life guard Vu was a helpful and very happy man, while Từ, Tiền, and Vnah provided us with memorable services. The happy faces of all these people always brightened our days! This is indeed a charming garden resort providing a relaxing atmosphere. Thank you for everything.

Since the tap water is not drinkable, two small bottles of water are far from enough for two people.

We thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxing few days here, beautiful gardens and pool area , lots of space between accommodation, the bungalows are very modern and comfortable. All the staff seem very cheerful and always happy to help. 3 restaurants on site , but also 4 local restaurants across the road in walking distance. A short taxi ride to Hoi An old town and lots and lots of very restaurants.

Just a couple of details and only because you are paying for 5 stars. The sunbeds need replacing , they are very old and do not look nice , not what you would expect for 5 stars. When we checked out our final bill wasn't itemised, just said food and drinks for each day so was difficult to challenge any of it, the total was around what we expected so not a problem but I would have preferred and expected to have an itemised invoice....for transparency.
