This bed had to be the most comfortable bed of my whole trip - even better than the 4 - 5 star hotels I have stayed in. I had a lovely view of the harbour and distant snow-capped mountains. The hotel is conveniently close to Hakodate Station. However, the surrounding streets are not in the best condition for pedestrians dragging luggage. Very well priced hotel. Lots of free amenities were much appreciated, including a bottle of water. Bigger room than other APA hotels i have stayed in, so there is enough space to lay my suitcase out.

The shower was a little annoying as the shower head kept turning itself towards the wall. Good water pressure, though. Heating got a little too hot during the night.

Everything was good and kinda as expected for a chain hotel - meets its standards etc etc. Room was perfect size for solo traveller and had a desk space (which is a win). Hard bed (which is my preference and shower was powerful.

To be honest, other than the breakfast buffet egg and potato mushy thing being cold by 08:00, there’s nothing dislikable about the place and that’s the point

I had asked a room as high as possible and I was able to get one, that made me happy. In addition the hotel provides movies and other entertainment freely from the television. Usually you have to buy a card in order to watch anything. This was a pleasant surprise. Price-wise this was kinda ok/good. Breakfast was good but understand that it’s a Japanese breakfast. If you prefer western style food, don’t pay for the breakfast.

The hotel doesn’t have a smoking room. If you smoke, definitely book a smoking room. The nearest smoking place is located at a Lawson convenient shop about 3 minutes walk away from the hotel. The room is small and the bath tub and shower is clearly a cheap version. The hotel name describes the hotel being just in front of the train station, but you have to walk 10 minutes at least to get there.

The hotel was very nice! The rooms were a good size. The bathroom was small but efficient. The amenities included were very nice! Breakfast buffet was full of delicious Japanese food! It’s very close to the sea! A short walk from the Memorial Museum and the wharf!

Some of the side dishes in the breakfast buffet aren’t labeled well. So, instead of mashed yams I ended up with cod roe.

Location was perfect. 5 - 8 mins walk from station. If you are travelling during snowy season with heavy luggage, take the exit on right when you exit ticket dates. Go through the street where the restaurants are. The road is easier to walk than the main road where I went and the snow was too high to drag your luggage. Room was slightly larger than my expectation.

Bed was sinking in the middle spot.

Front desk staff speak good english and are very corteous. Fast check in/out. Very spacious rooms. Few minutes walk from Hakodate station and very near tram station. Convenience store and restaurarant nearby. Breakfast is delicious. My brother forgot his ring at his room and front desk Nakashima immediately sent me an email. Since we are already going back to Sapporo, they sent it to our hotel. Since it was an affiliate hotel (APA Susukino Ekimae) they did not charge courrier cost. Thank you housekeeping and front desk staff.

Nothing.

It's just a stones throw away from Hakodate Station. Exploring this port city is easy as the hotel is a short walk away from the train and bus and tram stations. The hotel is also very near the mor ing Market, the Warehouses, and the famous Izakayas in the city. The staff are equally helpful and friendly.

I couldn't find any fault.

Convenient location that was an easy walk from the JR train station - I managed with my suitcase in under 10 minutes. It's also off the main road by the seafood market which meant the street was quiet at night. Room was comfortable and actually slightly more spacious than the normal one in an APA hotel.

Near most touristic attractions, near the station, nice staff, quiet. Bed was good ( not hard, rare for japan ). Pretty much your standard modern APA hotel. Big plus is that you get some wooden panels to protect the room from the sunrise (which can be as early as 3:50 in the morning...), guaranteeing you a good night of sleep.

At the end of my stay the AC had a weird scent, but it didn't bother me much.

We've been to 3 APA hotels during this trip and this one had the biggest room (not huge of course, but we could fit all of our stuff without having to solve a puzzle every time :D ). We also used the laundry room, it's small but it worked out great. We also had breakfast in the hotel once, it was very satisfying.
