Having booked through booking.com and agreed a price which clearly stated "including taxes and charges" and then to be charged an extra 21% vat on top plus 4% charge for paying by cash, I am very disappointed and flustrated to have been taken advantage of.

Extremely grand top of the line hotel that did not disappoint in any respect. The hotel itself is modeled after an 18th century European grand hotel and is flawlessly maintained. The entire first floor is fabulous anywhere you look, from the elegant bar to the exquisite restaurant - potentially the best breakfast set up in terms of ambiance we've ever been. Grand, natural light with a fantastic breakfast spread - something for everyone, with impeccably attentive service at every level of staff interaction. Martin the bellman gave us some great tips, the concierge knew what they were doing and worked hard to help us, the massage at the spa was great as were the gym facilities. Typically hotel gyms outside the US are subpar despite the quality of the hotel but this one was great - two nice rooms, very clean and pleasant with all the equipment you need. Our room was a junior suite and was an extremely good value for our money. Lastly the location was perfect. The grandest part of BA replete with cultural institutions a stone's throw away, beautiful parks and plenty of shopping and great restaurants. We will be back.

Wifi was the only subpar experience we had with this hotel.

I got upgraded from Junior Suite to a Deluxe Suite and loved it :) I had a great time with my partner and were able to explore the f&b offerings within the hotel

timing for the spa and pool being closed at 6pm makes it a bit difficult to take advantage of those services, would’ve loved to use the spa but we chose to do the afternoon tea service which ended at the time the spa was already closed.

The staff was marvelous and each went out of his/her way to make my stay enjoyable and memorable, especially because I booked a six-night stay. Of course, the guest needs to be pleasant too! I loved the rooftop bar/casual dining area. Seems to be a local cocktail favorite. Too bad some of the restaurants and the rooftop was closed for the latter part of my stay. Time to open up, Management! The Grill served excellent steaks. The breakfast was served in the Orangerie and also the chandelier-accented, mirrored gold hall that looked like a small Louis IX replica. I loved it! Suggest made-to-order dishes for the price. Location was superb! I did spend too much money (especially all my dollars!) at the walking-distance boutiques. Of course had to purchase another suitcases for my leather goods. Upper class, even elite, neighborhood with very visible police, especially evenings. Easy walk to the famous cemetary and the fine art gallery, I preferred the gallery! Small luxury shopping center also in easy walking distance. I dressed down but quickly got over my fear of being mugged (told to me by my CA friends). If you like the old fashioned, 4/5 star ambiance of Italian/French hotels in the "old country," you will love the Alvear Palace. The famous bar looks like the photos!

I was disappointed that the rooftop bar, the Grill, and evening dining were not open for my last two nights. Time to move on from Covid and stay up with the nearby competition!

The room was very nice, also I liked fruits were put in the room. Breakfast was good in very nice place. In general the building is very beautiful.

The thing I didn't like - the stain on the head of the bed. And baby's bed I asked was dirty and shabby itself (I mean that sheets very clean and ok).

I think it’s one of the nicest places I’ve stayed and since Argentina y devaluarse coin now, it’s also an amazing deal to stay at this place.

The staff were top quality in all areas of the hotel as would be expected — friendly, courteous, and quick to respond to one’s needs. The management has anticipated travelers’ needs so that one does not need to ask for anything missing. We felt at home.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about this hotel.

great location, lobby staff always available, good security, concierge was excellent, comfortable places to have drinks, breakfast room was beautiful. Matias at the front desk was super helpful and spoke very good English, rooms were large and had everything we needed, very nice

No outdoor pool. sun terrace not properly developed. Great space but no cushions for sun loungers, no small tables. No bar service in the day and needs at least a plunge pool and some foliageetc.
