It’s a beautiful hotel, rich with history which was a nice bonus. Restful bed. Lovely staff, beautifully decorated hotel and comfortable room. 11am check out. Walking distance to the Art gallery.

Food was expensive so I arrange my own. Loud gardening noise nearby started at 7am

The staff were nice and friendly, the room was very nice, the food was delicious,, room service was delivered promptly, the aromatherapy in the reception was lovely, the place was warm, the fireplace was lovely, we got one complementary parking day it was lovely thanks, the gym was sufficient.

Room service forgot cutlery and butter for artisan bread, there was only one face washer and hand towel for two people on most days, parking was always tricky, no complementary foods (for afternoon tea). The mattress was ok but nearing the end of use, we have stayed at this same hotel in other rooms with excellent mattresses.

Fantastic staff, beautiful building and gardens and it’s a great location if you enjoy walking to the attractions. There are a few restaurants and coffee shops and a grocery store (with alcohol) a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.

The room could do with a good cleaning - under the bed, top of fridge and window sills behind the shutters. The mattress needs to be turned over as it’s been slept on way too long.

Rooms were amazingly clean, and no 'hotel cleaning' smell in rooms or corridor. Lovely architecture. Staff helpful and friendly. Such a change from other places we have stayed in Canberra. Pricey, but not much more than some other places we have stayed in canberra which were quite awful.

Pillows very soft on our bed, but this is often a problem at hotels. The accessible bathroom in the adjoining room was absolutely freezing, so our kids mostly used the bathroom between the rooms. If any of us had needed to use the accessible bathroom because of physical limitation, I think it would have been quite unpleasant. The rest of the two rooms were an excellent temperature and we could adjust as we thought necessary, but not that bathroom.

Well appointed and located Canberra Hotel. Close to all the galleries and other sites. Loved the breakfast, it's not buffet, but absolutely delicious and good choices and great value. Room was very good, comfortable beds, everything worked well except bathroom, see below. Would definitely stay here again.

A few small annoyances, not enough to stop us from staying again but many aspects of the bathroom weren't up to standard. Not enough small towels to last 3 days (in fact only 1 - insufficient for period for room servicing), the soap wash dispenser was empty or defective, there was no hard soap option. A bit pokey.

This hotel is wonderfully close (10 mins walking distance) to both key visitor sites and excellent shopping and restaurants in Kingston and Barton. We made good use of this proximity. Room was very nice. Was unsure if we had balcony, or double bed and twin ( me, wife, teen son) or any view. Adapted anyway and with no distress. Shower ‘slide’ (up and down for spout) was loose at bottom ( small impact) and found I bumped into soap holder on any turn in shower, but also coped. Exhaust fan in bathroom was either non-existent or slow to remove mist / odour. But also did not diminish our enjoyment of the lovely accommodation. Walking about the hotel was delightful, inside and in environs. Its history and Chifley links were always present in our minds - very assuring to us. ** DO take up the complimentary ‘Chifley Walk’ offer on checking in, which includes free tour of Old Parliement House and MoAD. Chifley’s Restaurant options were lovely and apart from a confusion as to whether breakfast was complimentary or not.. (eventually proved ‘nope’) out three experiences were great. And this was despite 3 booked events in the main dining room in our 3 night stay. which simply led to more explorative moves to other dining sites nearby in the facility. The staff are all very eager to make you welcome, comfy and well-attended. Sad to see that one option (from the same kitchen..) on the in-room dining menu was not on offer for Restaurant dining. All other ‘same items’ were same cost.. so did not make sense to me. There were many places to sit, wander, contemplate.. and to sit with a drink or a book at fireside at any time of day or night was wond’rous. I had stayed here alone 12 years ago and was very keen to take my wife here to delight in it. Hotel Kurrajong ticked all boxes again- we’ll be back. A wonderful Canberra visitor experience was enhanced by your welcome and facilities. (*but please, if only for your poor Reception staff.. get onto fixing that booking system !)

Located in the centre of the government and business sector of Canberra, this historic hotel is a stone's throw away from several fascinating and important buildings. The room was comfortable, if slightly on the small side, and the staff and facilities were very pleasant. Ann Maree from housekeeping is a jewel and was particularly kind and thoughtful during our stay. The garden in the grounds was lovely to sit in having an early evening drink. The Chifley Walking Tour was a highlight for us, and our tour around the Old Parliament Building was fascinating. We also went to the National Archives Building nearby, which was free to enter and houses several interesting exhibitions. A five minute drive took us to the War Memorial, with free parking and free entry. This was excellent, including the beautiful, poignant Last Post Ceremony, which I would recommend wholeheartedly. So much to see and do in our couple of days, we also managed a trip to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, another enjoyable day out.

Nothing. The road system took a little time to familiarise ourselves with, but once understood, it was easy to get around Canberra.

A well presented hotel, with lovely foyer and pretty courtyard. We booked a king room and it was very comfortable. Conveniently located.

While we had a comfortable stay, this hotel just missed the mark for us in a few areas. Aircon/heating in room not working properly, room not made up well (bedspread lazily thrown up bed, pillows not placed and cushions left on floor, mini bar/milk for tea not replenished ) Restaurant ok, but too expensive for what was served. Service from staff ‘ok’, but nothing special. Would we stay again? Yes, but only if we received the same discounted rate through Booking.com.

Loved the location, the charm & history of this hotel. We loved the room size & provision of a couch. We loved the mattress & we loved the quality of tea bags. We loved the quiet neighbourhood & close proximity to a good cafe & some excellent restaurants. Loved the fragrance when we first walked into the Hotel & we loved the local Eden Road Pinot Noir available from the bar. We also really appreciated decent sized towels in the bathroom.

We didnt manage to regulate the airconditioning well, it was difficult to get a comfortable temperature. The bedding was too hot for the temperature, so we either slept on top of bedding or under a sheet. The bathroom was ok, but small & very much a one person at a time space. The shower leaked & there was poor light. The Chifley restaurant was overpriced.

Our stay at the Kurrajong Hotel in Canberra was fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed by the friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms were spacious, beautifully maintained, and had an elegant charm, perfectly complementing the hotel’s historic feel. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring two nights of perfect rest. The location was excellent—close to key attractions, great restaurants, and must-visit sites. Whether you're exploring Parliament House, the National Gallery, or taking a stroll around Lake Burley Griffin, everything is within easy reach. Overall, a wonderful experience with warm hospitality, a great atmosphere, and top-notch comfort.
