We had a wonderful stay — the decor is modern and fresh, the lane room had a large private balcony with comfy seating, perfect for relaxing. The library with cozy fireplace was very inviting. The staff were exceptional — super helpful with recommendations on what to see and do in the area. We especially loved using the bikes provided, which made it easy and fun to explore the surroundings. The location is ideal — tucked away just enough for peace and quiet, yet close to everything we needed. Walking distance to great cafes and restaurants. Highly recommend for a stylish and laid-back Byron Bay escape.

There really wasn’t much to fault. If I had to mention something, the hanging and storage space for clothes was a little limited. It was fine for a weekend away, but if you’re staying longer, you might find yourself wishing for a bit more room.

This was the best place we stayed in Byron, and is honestly the best hotel we've stayed at in Australia. It is reminiscent of a boutique hotel in Europe, with really nice interiors and staff that go above and beyond. Definitely the highlight of our stay in Byron. The pool was really nice and we spent lots of time down there even with some rain during our stay.

The rooms could have been slightly bigger, as with 2 suitcases in them it was a little bit of a squeeze. It would also be great to not have wi-fi on in the rooms overnight.

The hotel was beautifully designed. It is small and boutique and in a great part of town. Close enough to walk to the action and not too close that its too noisy. I love that we could rent a car for a 1/2 or full day, which ends up being much cheaper. They also had bikes which you can take at any point and ride around town. The receptionst made dinner reservations for us an organised taxis. Nothing was too much of an issue. Would definitely stay here again.

during our stay the airconditioner wasnt working very well. It was always blowing air but it wasnt as cold as we had set it. The receptionist said they were having a hotel wide issue which i assume will be resolved soon.

The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. They went above and beyond. Basq House also provides small, but useful services starting from a welcome drink, breakfast from the local bakery, snacks and water during the day in addition to surf board and bike rentals free of charge for hotel guests. Not to mention their library with intriguing books. Their drink menu is reasonably priced and the pool has a great vibe.

The design of the rooms was clearly prioritised over functionality. As an example, our balcony facing the street at the second floor has no ceiling permitting the rain to fall directly on the balcony furniture. The lights in the toilet couldn’t be turned off for the night. As the toilet door is made of glass it produced a dim light during the night, which we found unpleasant. We ended up covering the light with a towel after the first night. In addition, the fridge in the room is stuffed with the offered minibar beverages, not allowing space for anything else.

This is the best boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It is incredibly well designed with beautiful interior deco, and every single little detail is thought of not only in the room but also at the pool and in the common areas. The staff were some of the most attentive and friendliest I’ve ever come across. We actually spent 80% of our time at the hotel while visiting Byron because it was that nice. The pool is stunning, you can have drinks brought to you while lounging, and they give you free coffee and pastries by the pool for breakfast to take at your own leisure. Parking super easy, beautiful comfortable room, and extremely good location. I really did not want to leave!

Lovely look, open, fresh, but cosy. Nice colour palette, comfie bed, nice toiletries. Pool was clean and warm. Right in town so location is super convenient. Balcony. Spa right next door.

The construction next door means the noise and drilling goes straight through the hotel, so hoping for a sleep in that didn't happen. It will be hard to manage operations while this is going on, I suspect. I was solo on this trip so suited fine, but room only suits single or couple as open plan looks cool but means no privacy for the bathroom area.

The staff are amazing, very welcoming and the boutique experience feels intimate and personal. The staff go above and beyond. Love the welcome drink and availability of complimentary fruit and nibbles. The signature scent is so beautiful and uplifting. The library area with games is calming and relaxing. The magnesium pool and outdoor shower is fantastic. Drink service at the pool is also excellent.

The water dispenser is confusing and I didn’t know that sparkling water was available until I asked. The bin in the bathroom is impractical because it should just be a drawer, not a cupboard. You have to open the cupboard, pull out the drawer, remove the lid, then replace the lid, push the drawer back and then close the cupboard….too many steps. The design of the bar fridge door requires one to open both sides to access the fridge. There are no hooks to hang anything in the bathroom. Would love a Nespresso machine in the room.

Our stay at Basq House was truly one of the most memorable in recent times. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into an incredibly warm and beautifully designed hotel. From the pool, to the rooms, everything is stunning. What stood out more than anything, though, was the kindness of the staff. Their warmth and attentiveness made all the difference, the service here is a genuine 10/10. The location is also perfect, making it easy to explore and enjoy the area without hassle. I would highly recommend staying at Basq House, we will be back.

great staff and hotel is a site for sore eyes beautiful decor and fitting . pool area is wonderful and private but i was surprise at how small the area was as if there were more than 8 couples the area was full

coffee was an issue would have thought that a hotel of this standard would have a capsule coffee maker not in bag drip coffee if you required more coffee it was available downstairs but it was drip coffee again held in a thermos never had that experience only buy the papers on Saturday and if you ask for one you get a different answer each day from the same staff member strange to say the least

The design and ambience of the place was stunning. Staff were amazing too. Loved the little extras like snacks and welcome drink. Nice areas like the library to chill-out with a drink. Fantastic location right in the heart of town, but tucked away in a quiet spot.

Pool had quite a few dead bugs. We went for a swim later in the day so might have built up by then. Whilst the room design was gorgeous, having open plan bathroom not entirely practical for getting up in the night - couldn’t turn lights on in case I woke my partner. Also the shower knob took some faffing every time to get the temperature right. Ceiling fan wasn’t initially working and needed re-booting and the air-con wasn’t working properly on the first night. It’s only been open a few months so figure these are teething issues. All got resolved quickly though, the staff were wonderful.
