The fact that the hotel was just off the freeway exit and very easy to find. The rooms are clean, bed was comfortable and having the dinning room/hotel directly opposite where excellent meals are available, made the stay much more welcoming. The need to not have to go into town to look for a decent feed was great. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and catered to your requirements.

The room I had was in the centre of the complex, which was great as you could rarely hear the traffic outside, yet one of my traveling partners had a room closer to the road, where the noise was much greater. I will say this did not affect my choice of hotel ! I found on Sunday morning that the showers ran low on hot water, although there were quite a few people staying at the hotel.

This is a retro motel, and though the rooms were a bit tired, with the exception of a microwave, there was everything else we needed. The shower was surprisingly good - lots of hot water, very powerful :). Rooms were clean, and the staff are friendly. Check-in and check-out is super-easy. It's a short walk to Albury town, if you want excellent shops, and there is an Aldi and a Farm Market right across the road. I'm a Brit, and the place gave me 'Butlin's Holiday Camp' vibes, in a good way. Recommended for a short, comfortable, cost-effective stay.

A microwave and maybe a couple of plates would have been good.

First impressions are lasting impressions. We walked into hotel and was immediately greeted by a guy by the name of Kelvyn who greeted us with a huge smile and a very warm welcome who checked us in. Kelvyn was amazing in his help and made us feel like we were family, even though we aren’t. He’s a great ambassador for the Astor Hotel, Motel. I’m not sure if Astor Hotel Motel has a reward system for Great employees, if you do I would like to nominate Kelvyn to receive one as he was just ever so iLife, knowledgeable and just a nice person. The food in the hotel was absolutely delicious and the room was so so so comfortable and clean. I will definitely be back and thankyou to Kelvyn for making our stay a memorable one ☝️

Conveniently located and a reasonable walk to the Albury railway station. Plenty of choices for food if you choose to go off-site. The room was clean and comfortable. This room was on the ground level and was similar to one upstairs, where we stayed a couple of years ago. The shower itself was a great size and hot water great. Toiletries supplied were of a nice quality.

The only disadvantage to this setup is the lack of a basin in the actual bathroom area. It's not a deal breaker given that we stayed there before and were aware of how the room is set out. As a tea drinker and someone who enjoys my tea, I would prefer mugs rather than the tiny cups supplied.

When I saw the laundry sign I went down and put my clothes in washing machine went back down 45mins later and was confronted by this ASIAN LADY abusing me no matter how much I apologized like 5 times she just keep with the abuse then I noticed my clothes in a basket soaking wet and she wouldn't let me put my small load in the dryer me being Ex Military (15) I just about told her I was going to put on a slow boat back to China but held my tongue and ringed out the clothes and turned my room into Chinese Laundry So observing this lady she seemed to be a manager of some sort as she talked down to her staff and ordered bloody Hitler all over again I know if I was the GM she would be terminated from any future employment she is what would influence your profit margins and lose clientele it was the only bad taste in my mouth from my stay otherwise it was great Thanks Steve (sorry this was supposed in section underneath) 😁

So this is what I did like my stay was very peaceful the Chicken Parmi was excellent and the bar staff in public bar we're great thanks Steve 😁

The Astor is a budget motel just off the M31 between Sydney and Melbourne. If I want to break my drive in Albury, it's my go to option. The hotel also has a perfectly good bistro if you can't be bothered to wander into town. We stayed on a particularly hot night. The air con in our room was malfunctioning. The staff could not have been more helpful. When it couldn't be fixed they upgraded us to a family room.

The bathrooms are tired (paint peeling off the ceiling) and could do with redecorating. You get what you pay for, though, and the Astor is great value for money.

Stayed here for two nights. I used to live in Albury but came back for a little vacation. This hotel is very good for those who want value for money and a good location. You get of the train and it’s like less than a 10 minute walk to the hotel but also that same distance from the shops. The bedrooms are small but I kind of loved that as a solo traveller. Staff where nice and friendly and the way the building is painted design just makes you feel happy. I love the pink walls as I go to my room. It’s also literally so close to a subway, Harris farm market and Aldi as well as little takeaway shops. The restaurant also serves amazing food. Overall give this hotel a try , you actually get allot and it’s budget friendly. If you have never been to Albury before as a ex local, book this one.

Room was neat and tidy. After a long day in the car the adjoining restaurant and pub was handy making sorting out our dinner easy.

Carrying luggage for the entire family up to the family room on the second level was a bit of an inconvenience so I would recommend requesting a ground floor room if you may have difficulties managing this. Also, I completely missed in the hotel info that there is no microwave in the room - completely my fault but if you have a baby and need to warm milk or formula like I did you should consider this.

Easy to locate, close to petrol station and the hotel had a good dining area. Friendly staff and value for money.

I had to park six parking spots down from my room. It was raining heavily and my belongings and I got wet trying to get to my room. Parking spots should be allocated for the guest staying in a room not parking for pub patrons. Parking was very crowded. I had an iron but no ironing table. Door needed a strong push to shut and lock properly. Bathroom needs renovating.

Older style motel but some effort was made to make it modern with funky coloured doors that gave motel a fun, retro look. I appreciated this! Room was perfectly clean and had everything we needed as a stopover on a long drive. The pub was buzzing but the noise didn't bother us. Shower was hot and tv had the footy on, what's not to love!? Thanks for an easy stay.

No basin in the bathroom, had to use the kitchen sink. Not really a problem for us but some might not like this?
