Lovely clean room and helpful staff. Good range of meals in pub. Lovely beer garden. Live music on weekends. Comfortable bed and easy parking out the back of the rooms.

The piped house music stops a bit after midnight on Saturdays so if noise is an issue bring earplugs. Pillows are quite plump (and new) so if you prefer a low loft option you might need to bring your own or ask at reception for another type. A bit of odour from the floor drain in the bathroom so we opened the window and put a bathmat over it to solve the issue.

What an amazing Pub! Full of old world charm, history and comfort. The fireplaces were wonderful! The walls (and ceiling) have fantastic memorabilia to look at and read. The meals were superb, drinks cheap and service was so friendly and quick! The accommodation was lovely with updated bathrooms, kitchen with microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and supplies, and even Foxtel and electric blankets!! Two beautiful woolen blankets as a backup as well! Located in the main street, so you could walk to everything! We can't wait to go back again - though this time we'll book direct with the pub - it's cheaper.

I didn't like that Booking.com charged more for our accommodation than the pub would have!

Location was perfect, room was extremely modern and roomy for such an old building. Despite being within a pub and opposite another pub it was very quite. Would definitely stay at Prince of Wales again, the room and the meal I had in the pub were exceptional.

This has been the highlight of my travels so far. Gulgong is a beautiful town, and The Prince of Wales Hotel is the perfect place to stay. Reception is at the bar, and it is such a friendly place. The bar is wonderfully decorated. Rooms are at the back of the hotel with parking. The room we stayed in was immaculate and well appointed. A double bed and single bed with a decent bench between the beds. A spacious and clean bathroom, shower only. Air-conditioning works well, TV and microwave. Not only do they provide tea and coffee but also hot chocolate. We had a meal of fish and chips in the hotel dining room on arrival. The service was excellent and the food was cooked beautifully. We really enjoyed tasting some gin distilled in the local area. I cannot recommend this place enough, I cannot fault it.

The location was very good. It was very comfortable and the rooms were at the back of the hotel so it was very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the shower was amazing which is important to me. I would definitely stay there again if in the area.

So pretty, beds very comfortable, room basic but very clean. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Meals were plentiful and lovely Was nice having outdoor seating area outside your room

Possibly brighter cover on bed would just brighten the room a bit more

Little bit noisy coming from pub across the road,but nothing unacceptable.

Location was central to Gulgong and near enough to Mudgee to meet my needs. The rooms consisted of holiday style hotel units at the rear of the hotel. They were reasonably modern, functional and clean.

Obviously, the accommodation adjoined the hotel. However, there was another pub across the road also. Basically, it was Saturday night and slightly noisy. Not extreme and we weren't really bothered but it is handy to know.

Staff were friendly, room was nice, food was lovely. Real country pub feel. Not sure about breakfast as it wasnt offered or discussed.
