We had a comfortable enough room, very clean and just like the ad shows. It wasn't anything too fancy, but you get what you pay for. It's located 8.6km away from Newcastle city center, so if you're traveling by car, you'll be fine. It was a great option for a last-minute reservation during the holiday season. The highlight of our stay was the attention we received from a lady at the reception. She treated us really well and gave us detailed information about the accommodation and the city. She even told us about a Kangaroo reserve close to the hotel, which was a delightful experience. I would definitely stay there again.

If you aren’t booking in the last minute you can find better places for the same price.

Rooms were perfectly clean, surprisingly large and very quite with zero road noise. Check in was quick and painless

I was a little disappointed when 1st arriving. I had expectations of this 'best western' being a stand alone hotel. instead it was 'over a pub', meaning 'blackbutt inn' isnt just a cute name for accommodation. That's probably on me for not using 'google streetview' of the premises beforehand but the stay was perfectly fine.

The proximity to John Hunter Hospital, the convenience store/ bottle shop downstairs, meals available. Had everything required

The colour of the walls, to me it felt dark and dreary, others would say moody and snug. Perspective, I was spending all day at the hospital so when I got back it seemed heavy.

Karen always looks after me when I stay and was kind enough to give me an upgrade, which I very much appreciated (thanks Karen !). Rooms are always clean and comfortable and quiet. Pub/Bistro/Bottle shop downstairs means you don't need to drive anywhere for dinner. Food is always good too. This is my go-to when I travel to Newcastle. Highly recommend !!

A little more attention to the room service the room was very clean when I arrived however it really was a minimal service during my stay of one week

I liked how simple and clean the room was. The staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming.

The only downside which isn't the hotels fault at all, is the other guests not being considerate of other guests at certain times, very early morning/late at night. But other than that, it was great.

Conveniently located to the nearby football stadium this hotel was an excellent choice, despite the drenching rain. Parking was easy and free. The onsite restaurant offered quality dining at an excellent price. Our room was comfortable and very clean.

Nothing, everything was great.

Reception staff were brilliant, explained and showed us the car parking area, Took us up to our room, explained keys, lifts etc, showed us restaurant and bar areas and where to have breakfast the next morning. Restaurant staff were great, dinner was good and very tasty, when we asked about the early room service for breakfast as my husband had to fast from 7:30am they made sure we had breakfast early. Excellent and friendly service from everyone at the Blackbutt Inn. We'd stay there again.

Convenient location for hospitals, the reason for my stay. Great value, very comfortable and modern room, felt safe and secure with passkey access only and lift to accommodation level, pub below but no noise at all, great breakfast, and extremely warm and friendly staff.

Couldn't believe how quiet the room was given that we were above a busy pub on a Saturday night. Comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge, good size TV, very clean. Great food in the pub downstairs!

On street parking. No where to make the tea and coffee (no table/bench space), small room, Not particularly cheap given how far it is from the centre of Newcastle and the beach.
