I moved to MM Kings Cross after absolutely running away from the Downtown one that was dirty, extremely hot, small and packed. Best decision ever! Here, reception staff was helpful, kind and nice from the very begging and up until the end, this really makes a difference! The hostel in general was very clean. Kitchen is well equipped. Aircon in the room was an absolute plus. Beds are very comfy with 2 personal power outlets, spacious lockers and a bedside lamp. 4pax room was very spacious and other guests were really respectful during their stays. This hostel is really worth the price, unlike so many others in Sydney!

The shower on the first floor floods everything while you're showering and the gap under the door is too big imo so it's a bit uncomfortable because there's two sinks directly next to where you're showering. A couple extra showers and toilets wouldn't hurt. 4pax room is directly next to reception. During the day it can get quite noisy. In the evenings this was rarely the issue except for one Saturday night where there were music and people being very loud up until 11.40pm.

My experience at Mad Monkey Kings Cross was simply amazing. From the moment I arrived, I loved the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of the place. The staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything I needed. It’s clear that everyone is committed to ensuring guests have a memorable stay. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the common areas are perfect for meeting other travelers and sharing stories. Additionally, the location is excellent, with easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and points of interest. Mad Monkey Kings Cross definitely exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and comfortable stay in Sydney. I will definitely be back!

Such a great hostel to stay at when your in Sydney. The people I met there were amazing including the staff - all very welcoming and helpful! The location is great as well being right next to the train station and a short walk to the cbd. The hostel was constantly being cleaned and the beds were really comfy also. Would absolutely recommend this hostel for anyone comimg to Sydney and wanting to make new friends!

There was renovations being done whilst i was there which meant the main areas of the hostel were a little messier than usual, but the improvements will be worth it and make this an even better place to stay!

i would say everything. i was anxious before i came ‘cause the rating was very low but: >friendly stuff >fair price >yes the kitchen is small but well equipped. everybody was nice, polite and friendly. the kitchen is clean enough as i expected. >toilet is clean. i can’t say the whole place but at least at my floor. >stairs. i’m good with it. the stuff helped me with one of my bag since i was carrying 40kg belongings. thanks. >noice. yes, along the street a little bit noisy but i’m good with my earplugs. >location. good, near the city walk 15 mins i lived in the top level and thought everything was good. it really depends who you met and where you live would give you different impression but i would say everything on me is good so far

The hostel is very clean and the bathrooms modern. There is also a book corner and a tv room which offer a good place outside the room and is very social. The air conditioning makes it very pleasant at night and the beds are very comfortable. You can go to the gym for free every day and in the evening there are free drinks and once a week free food.

Rooms and bathroom were good and organized, all clean.

Kitchen were really disgusting, lots of trash and messy all the time, it was cleaned everyday by staff member but there was no rules, people were playing cards and drinking games all nights in the kitchen. I wasn’t able to eat or sit most of the time. There was no space on the freezer either.

I really liked the location (it was in the middle of an active neighborhood, lots of day and night life) and the cleanliness of the place. There were a few places to lay down and chill, and a vending machine (both great after a night out). The staff were nice, and most of the time you could find someone at the front desk.

Our room's shower didn't have a curtain or a door (which it obviously had at some point). It was open, so water got all over the place when you showered.

I loved the welcoming atmosphere at Mad Monkey Kings Cross! The staff is super friendly, the hostel is clean and vibrant, and there are plenty of social events to meet new people. The location is perfect, close to everything in Sydney, and the overall vibe makes it easy to relax and have fun. Highly recommend it!

it was very nice staying at this hostel. i just started traveling and didnt know what to expect from the hostel life, but mad monkey didn't dissapoint. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpfull. I lost the keys of my locker and one of the girls from the staff helped me find them. they also organise a lot of fun events, where i met a lot of great people. during one of the night of my stay the ovens didnt work, that was a bit annoying, but they arranged free pizza and the next day new ovens arrived. so that was fine. overall a good experience.

The staff was very nice, the beds are ultra comfortable and the bathrooms get cleaned everyday, the public bathroom 3 times a day. Nice people in the hostel and a great location to have access to entire inner Sydney.

It’s missing a kinda living room, but you can hang out in the TVroom or the kitchen where you always have space for chats.
