Great location, large quiet room.
A bit dated perhaps, but otherwise great value.

Location was super. Connectivity is very good. Bed needs revamping. Staff were very courteous. Got a check-in an hour early.
The pest control is required soon. The room had a couple of baby cockroaches.

The DeVere is in an excellent location in the centre of Potts Point. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a Queen room (I think) so for our four days, the extra space was welcome. We were close to the lift but there was no noise from that. We also liked that the room is not serviced during our stay, so there was no issue about coming in and out and being concerned about disturbing the staff. Good quality sheets and towels are provided plus tea and coffee making facilities, soap, shampoo and body wash. Front desk staff were friendly and when we wanted our blanket replaced, it was done promptly. We enjoyed excellent value for money for this stay.
Our room smelled a bit damp, particularly in the bathroom. It was not a problem for us, but it might be for others. Again, whilst this did not concern us, the rooms are very plain with few amenities, but if you only want a place to sleep, dress and bathe - as we did - it is perfect.

We spent 1 week here from Christmas through to new year and it was very pleasant. We were close to the city and mostly walked everywhere. The staff were very friendly and accommodated us when we asked for towels or when a food order arrived. We had to check in 1 day later due to a flight cancellation and they held our room for us upon request. Self-serve laundry was very useful to have on the premises and there is a woolys right across the street to get detergent from. I would stay here again if I am visiting Sydney.
If I had to nit pick - the elevator is very slow and small. On one occasion it went up to every floor and stopped before going down to the ground floor. We just used the stairs during busier periods.

This hotel is cheap and cheerful and hasn't been renovated since what looks like the 80s - but its right in the heart of Potts Point, edges the Cross, and is 20 minutes walk to the national gallery. The single rooms are a bit...faded... but they have bay views. Love it, will def stay again.
Nothing, it was perfectly fine for what it is.

A short walk from Kings Cross train station, restaurants, and shops. The room was large for a single. It's probably the best price you can get for the area. Lots of coffee and tea with kettle setup in the room.
The hotel feels last renovated in the 80's. It's clean but everything is worn, stained, and chipped. The room had no natural light but had a large window to an alleyway flooded with florescent light at all hours.

The hotel is reasonably priced and was available at a short notice which is rather unusual for Sydney in summer. The location is fantastic, just minutes' walk from Kings Cross station. The area is very pleasant, there are a lot of restaurants and cafes all around the place, and the transportation options are excellent. The room was clean and nice, although a bit old (but that's not a Marriott either, so manage your expectations). The bed was excellent. The bathroom facilities in my room were perfectly maintained and immaculately clean, so there were no issues whatsoever.
The hotel premises are a merger of two adjacent buildings with different floor levels which means there's a lot of awkward steps on the way where under normal circumstances there should be none. This is clearly not something that can be fixed - but keep in mind that this place is not suitable for anyone who cannot deal with the omnipresent stairways.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, just a stone's throw away from Kings Cross Station. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.
My stay at the hotel was absolutely lovely! I couldn't find anything to complain about. Sure, the hotel may have a slightly outdated appearance, but my room was spotless. And the best part? It's a great deal!

The location is 5-7 minutes' walk from the station and close to supermarkets and everything Potts Point has to offer. It's a budget hotel and great value for money, amazingly clean and the staff go beyond expectations to make guests comfortable... help with luggage, help with choosing a room close to the lift, care of luggage before and after checkout. It's really worth asking for help if you need it. The front desk is open 24 hours a day so security is never a concern.

Great value for money. Location is at walking distance to many shops, cafes, restaurants and public transport. You can even walk to the CBD from here. WiFi connection was great. The room I had (121) was basic but it was clean and had everything that I needed for the short stay. Nice firm mattress and pillows.
The room (121) had no view but it was mentioned in the listing and I did not mind this. There are a few stairs going up to the upper lift which could be problematic for those less able trying to move luggage. The bath has no plug. The fridge does not really get cold. The kettle is probably due for a replacement.
