We have stayed here quite a few times and it is always good to return. Nice and clean. Staff were very friendly at concierge and check in. The beds are comfy, the room is not huge but is well laid out and everything works. Good water temp and pressure in shower. However, water flows out to the floor in the bathroom which creates a slip hazard. Overall we like staying here.

Sunday morning hoping for a nice sleep in. In the big comfy bed without kids and life getting in the way. Then at 7am seriously loud construction noise starts!!!!! Dismantling scaffolding. The hotel knows about the construction site directly opposite the property on the city side - Castlereagh Street. We rang reception about it and they admitted they were aware of it and were sorry for any disturbance. This is why the price was so low. However, this information was not mentioned anywhere in the Booking.com property description. We probably would have spent more money and stayed on the park side to ensure a peaceful start to our Sunday had we known. We did not get a good night's rest. I feel omitting this information is dishonest and it has left a bad taste unfortunately.

The location is fantastic . Just choose a room over looking the park as the city view on the other side is a building construction. No noise is coming from there however, so that is great. Nice clean spacious rooms . Fantastic breakfast choices. If you book , just Book with breakfast option, it is worth it.

The staff is nice in general . However at breakfast they are very slow with bringing your coffee and specially cleaning your table while you are eating. It also happened that while choosing among the foods our table was cleaned while our personal belongings were also there and were taken away! So we had to claim those back… never happened in my life in worse hotels either so the breakfast staffing is something the management has to better observe.

Thankful for the cake and room upgrade gestured for my daughter's birthday.

I usually give Sheraton 10. But with this stay the connecting room we unfortunately had(just one of it) has the door through the next room unstably locked - which gave us discomfort throughout the night. I don't recommend self- checkout as your receipt will not come through automatically, you need to follow up - and their Reception was very busy at that time - could give you out of peace like for extra charge etc. I haven't received my deposit back up to now.

Some say it is a bit dated but I actually liked the fact that its interior decoration is probably from the 80’s or 90’s. The pool is awesome with a great view out to the heads. The rooms are large. We had a Hyde Park view room. Next time I will be sure to ask for a room above the 10th or 11th floor so you clear the tree line and have access to the view of Hyde Park across to St Marys Cathedral. The bed is seriously comfy. We ordered room service a few times and were pleasantly surprised by the quality. We had a pizza and butter chicken. We ordered the butter chicken again the next day it was so good. The bar fridge is reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and accommodating. You couldn’t ask for a better position right in the heart of the city. A stroll across the road to St James station takes you to the airport in 10 minutes. I don’t need to search for hotels in Sydney anymore. I’ve found the one I’ll be going back to time and again.

The location, the room and overall service is excellent. We stayed in 2 rooms with connecting door for 5 nights. It is very easy for us to take a public transport to visit the universities. During the day it is very convenient to walk to the places around. The room is very comfortable. The pool and fitness is also very good, we used it almost everyday.

It is very disappointing that we forgot 4 passports with money in the safe. We was realized the day after we checked out but seem like no one understand our nervous and worries. Unfortunately, the front desk asked us to wait one day more to give us the answers. Their unenthusiastic make us feel like they don’t care, even though, I beg them to find out if it is not in the room so we can do something before our flight time. It is disappointing at the end really

What a gorgeous hotel. The Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park did not disappoint. The grand foyer left a great first impression. Was fortunate enough to be able to check in 2 hours early and were pleasantly upgraded on arrival which was a great start to a special weekend getaway. Min from reception was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was amazing. Great view over Hyde Park with St Mary's cathedral peeking above the trees. The room was large, spacious and very clean with an equally impressive bathroom equipped with a bathtub and larger than expected shower. Breakfast was amazing and everything you would expect from a 5 star buffet breakfast. Spoilt for choice with the multitude of food stations full of amazing fresh and very tasty produce. The wait staff were friendly and extremely attentive leaving us wanting for nothing. Special mentions to Beau from the dining room, Paul at the egg station, Eunji from the coffee station and Andy at the Level 1 Bar. The fitness centre is well appointed and the pool, spa and sauna area were fantastic with the pool area having fantastic views of the city. Chris from Day Spa reception was very kind and welcoming. Overall this was probably the best stay had in all the time coming to Sydney and staying at an array of different hotels. Will definitely be back.

The commute was easy off the M5 and ED and the hotel was simple to find. Great location for our planned activities in the city, with a 4 minute walk to the Theatre Royal Sydney. Onsite parking with valet service was excellent. We were greeted in the lobby by a very kind and friendly young man serving complimentary lollies, he was helpful with navigating our food allergies. The gym is large, very well equipped, and available 24 hours. We enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and spa with towels available poolside, toilet nearby, and city views - Centre point tower is beautifully framed by the roof top windows above the pool. We were granted late check-out which allowed us time to enjoy the facilities on the morning of check-out and also find suitable food in the city to meet our dietary requirements. There was no disposable plastic in the room, a fantastic sustainability initiative. We are looking forward to booking the Sheraton for future trips.

Even though there are multiple dining options at the Sheraton, we found it difficult to accomodate our dietary requirements and chose to dine elsewhere - one coeliac, and one anaphylactic to tree nuts and eggs. Given our central location this was easily overcome when surrounded by a variety of dining options. We were granted late check-out (thank you) however my room card did not work after the standard check-out time and it prevented me from using the lift. To access our room I was escorted promptly by friendly staff.

Some reception staff hospitality a bit blend. Not welcoming gesture. Room is very dusty on the shelves. Should pay attention to how many guest coming and prepare the correct amount of towels. Breakfast Buffett - not enough kitchen staff serving customer. Long wait for egg station, kitchen staff Is not friendly. No manner in answering guest, not smiling and very grumpy, I asked for something, reply is “wait” with grumpy face. slow in refilling the food. Food is blend and lack on international flavour. Not quite the 5 star hotel service.

The room was divine. Plenty of space and very nicely decorated. The mix of functionality and lux layout was a treat. The pool and spa was well used by us. Along with the sauna in the change rooms which was a pleasant surprise. Staff were very helpful and met lol our needs with a smile.

The main bar and upstairs dining were closed due to a private function. It would have been good to be told this on booking as the bar and restaraunt were a main component of why we booked here. We were entertaining a guest from out of town and the Gallery for dinner had. Avery limited menu. Nice but limited.

Comfortable bed, nice view (although it would be great to understand that the lower levels only see leaves and no view...), great breakfast

The meal for dinner was delicious but the tastes were overdone. What I'm trying to explain is that some of the meal needs to be a bit more natural - for example the potatoes were roasted and then tossed in some intense sauce instead of just being roasted. So the potatoes were compelling with the excellent meat that also had a special sauce... and the salad also had an interesting but intense sauce and so all the components of the meal were competing for attention rather then it being a balanced meal. The chair at the desk was 'sat through' and the interior generally is getting a bit dated, although most very nicely maintained.
