Easy two block walk to the esplanade

Housekeeping came around 8am every day. I like to sleep in. They would call out and say who they were, I often told the. To come back in an hour. I like to sleep in when on holidays. Pool was nice to relax in. The Chinese restaurant was terrible. I ordered garlic prawns and got 9 prawns and big chunks of garlic undercooked and half a plate of mushrooms and old steamed rice. I understand that it is a different company. When the waitress asked how was my meal I told her terrible, she ignored the comment.

The front reception lady Sarah was outstanding!! So lovely, helpful and friendly

The hotel was going through any different renovations, so no pool available and limited parking etc. How ever Sarah from front reception went above and beyond to ensure we we're sorted with everything. Also go to see what all the rooms will look like after the renovations are completed

Issue at night with other residents and no one at hotel desk to call. Police had to be called. This is very difficult as you can't leave your room for your own safety. As you don't know who is the person causing harm. Banging of doors and screaming is what you hear. Reported to staff in the morning. To discover that no security, on the premises you have to call them also.

Close to the Esplanade and city centre. Good facilities and friendly and helpful,caring staff. Nice views from the tower room. The bed was very comfy and I love how they have a separate sink from the toilets for tea/coffee making facilities.Beautiful mirrors but a full length one would be an added bonus. A spacious room and balcony.

The tower rooms were an upgrade to the city rooms but nothing really more special about them. Provide some extra facilities such as microwave oven and larger fridge . Rooms need a facelift as they're very old and the bathroom needs to be updated as well. Keep some snacks/biscuit to go with the tea/coffee especially for city and tower rooms.

The pool was lovely.parking was good.

Breakfast was awful. We arrived at 7.15 am and Everything was cold, not pleasant eating cold scrambled egg and baked beans. The yoghurts were in bowls but nothing to tell you what flavours they were. Fresh fruit was okay but not easy to mess that up. Most disappointed. Didn't go back for breakfast the next morning as planned. Very noisy neighbours in room 205. He spent most of the night, until at least 3 am outside on his phone, on speaker, talking to a female. Had hardly any sleep. Very annoying.

Pleasantly surprised! This is very clean and comfortable ‘old school Cairns’ hotel with a beautiful Queenslander feel. The rooms are much larger and more spacious than newer hotels. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms super clean. I stay in Cairns a lot and can easily see myself staying in this central location again.

Did not use breakfast service. Location great and was good to see hotel being refurbished and upgraded as rooms looking a bit worn and tired. The staff were great and could not do enough to help

Did not like the fact that two single beds pushed together and sheet over both to create one large double bed as this creates an uncomfortable ridge down the middle of the bed.

Friendly reception staff, a number of different people and interactions all great.

The restaurant is in bad need of a deep clean and refurbishment, the quality of food was only reasonable and the bacon was more like warm ham than proper bacon. The coffee was poor quality from the auto type machine.

Always lovely to stay here. Comfortable rooms, convenient locations, staff always very friendly and helpful.

I was shocked at the price I paid for a meal at the restaurant to take away. Lesson learnt won't be twice burnt. No pool to swim in was disappointing. If I'd known that I'd have picked another place to stay.

Friendly staff, 24 hour reception, location ( I live in Kuranda, later flight so it made sense to come there and travel to home next day) nice relaxing room and size. I also saw that you have pet friendly room, excellent to know

No sure though the Reno's were noisy in the morning but can't be helped
