Stunning location, right on The Esplanade. Sneak peek of beach and ocean, and handy to a wonderful, flat walking track. Plenty of food options either direction and not too far to drive to the local Woolies. Check in was seamless - received a text message whilst en route to advise reception would be closed but leaving clear instructions for key access. Roomy and clean, with basic facilities like fridge, TV and microwave.

Pillows were extremely hard, almost brick like. Spare 2 claimed by husband and daughter, so I was lucky I had brought my own.

Great location! Communication was excellent. Clean and comfortable rooms. The rooms are equipped with everything you need including a kitchen which allows you to prepare and cook your own meals (microwave, electric fry pan). There is also an amazing BBQ area where you can cook and relax. Kirsty and the staff are very friendly, helpful and thoughtful - they rescued our washing, which I had hung on the line, from being blown away and getting wet while we were away for the day on a tour. Shell Beach Motel is my go to place to stay in Hervey Bay - it's affordable, comfortable, clean. I would totally recommend Shelly Beach Motel to anyone.

The accommodation although a little dated could not be faulted for the absolute cleanliness, comfortable bed and lounge, great hot water and pressure. Location was fabulous, beach across the road, just a short drive or leisurely walk to a selection of restaurants. Very reasonable price.

I'm under the impression Shelly Beach Motel will in the future be knocked down to make way for Opal apartments. Although classy the overnight stay will be also.

The lady greeted us with a big smile, the room had everything we needed, great value for money , especially with family as other places were more expensive. Heaps of car space and even though there was renovations going on we really didn't notice. Also nice area if you have kids to play or have a BBQ. Easy in and out. Will definitely go back.

Mmm There was nothing really. If anything which is so so minor is maybe some little butters and jam and Vegemite for toast. But I could stop being stingy and a cheapstake and just bring my own 🤣🤪

The host was very helpful and friendly. We were travelling up from Brisbane and arrived early in the morning. We called ahead to ask if we could have an early check in and the owner was very accommodating. She arranged for us to have access by 12noon - we received a call at 11am to say our room would be ready by 11:30am! Absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond. The room was clean and tidy, plus the location was great - right opposite the beach. We were able to ride our bikes straight across to the esplanade and have a family ride along the beach out to the warf. Will definitely stay again!!

Perfect location. Beach directly across the road. The room had basic cooking facilities, cutlery, plates, ect. was able to cook breakfast and dinner. The office staff communicated very well. They sent text message advising they would not be on site when we arrived and made arrangements for us to access our unit without any issues.

I cannot fault the motel.

Across road from beach , it had a good lil kitchenette, very clean ,neat shower area . Great seating area outside with a BBQ. Had a clothesline and lil seated area outside room on ground level. Within 5 mins drive of some good eateries and walking path across road. Good parking area …just a nice place .Contact with manager was great

The room was really clean and even had cutlery plates and an electric fry pan for cooking. Nice big fridge and comfortable bed. It also has a great view.The staff are really great and very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back next time we're up that way. This has got to be the best place we stayed in without exception and for a great price. No one would be disappointed with this place.

We loved how close to everything we were, and it was more than enough for our little family. Stocked cupboards with crockery and cutlery and an electric frypan. And plenty of room in the fridge to grab some groceries! The roof is soundproofed xD our young boys had no issues napping in the room.

We've stayed at this place twice now and both times was absolutely great. The room we stayed in is a good size and comfortable, the location is perfect, and the staff are always friendly. Kirsty is the best and makes sure the stay is awesome, she goes above and beyond with a friendly attitude that really makes our stay great. Will definitely be back here again next time we are in Hervey Bay.
