Location was great! Just a short drive to Maryborough showgrounds each day, for a 3day event. The room was a good size, kitchenette was functional with a good size bar fridge/freezer. Bathroom was clean and modern style. Another bonus was the room had 2 windows with security screens, so we could leave them open to let fresh air in! A big plus for me, as I hate stuffy hotel rooms needing Air-con running 24 ×7 specially in the winter months

Perhaps not being able to see the TV whilst eating a meal at the dining table. Wasn't able to watch Stan or Netflix, as the TV in our room seemed to have all of those features disabled. Not a deal breaker though lol.

Second stay at the Cara motel, and with risk of sounding like a fake review, everything was perfect and to our expectations as with the first stay over 2 years ago. Not only have they maintained their quality with regards to extremely friendly and helpful service, cleaning is top notch and beds are still just as comfy. Great location with both a corner store and coffee shop not even 20 meters away. Parking right by the room, we did not need it but most travel here by car so don't need to find a park far away, just park outside the room! Neighbours are never rowdy here, (you would barely know they existed if the cars weren't around) - the location and rooms don't really tempt anyone to be rowdy, it gives more of a classic motel vibe to stay for the night while on a roadtrip or visiting locals or family in the area. So if you need a good nights sleep, you will get it here! Came during winter so didn't use the pool but it was very inviting when we had sunny days. Looked very clean and well maintained. As well as the pool area with good spot to get the full day of sun. Also loved the soaps and hair products available in the bathroom, unlike high end hotels who give you a tiny bottle barely enough for one head of hair, there is plenty here (which gets filled up by housekeeping) saving you from rushing to the shops for soap just to get that first evening shower after a long day of driving. Late check out wasn't an issue, getting the key couldn't have been easier and for any Maryborough stay I have in the future, it will be here. I sadly did not catch her name, but the lovely long, black haired young woman at the reception was an absolute delight and made us feel right at home.

The Cara is a lovely old-school motel with lots of charm. Convenient location (near the hospital also), excellent staff, everything was super clean and equipped with very comfortable beds.

Absolutely nothing to do with the Cara, but another guest sat across from our room and smoked for about 4 hours until almost midnight, coughing his guts up every few minutes..I .wish our kids were travelling with us to give them a practical anti-smoking lesson!.

What breakfast? It was good having a hand rail in the shower - occasionally when I turn around in the shower I get giddy so it was great the handrailwas there.

It would have been nice to have knives & forks and plates and bowls. Also a warmer blanket would have been great. I had to get my husband to bring up all of the above for the second night.

Size of the room. We got the end room so it was lovely and quiet. Ample parking. Clean and comfortable. The shower size (over a bath) was lovely.

The deodoriser used in the room was exceptionally strong - to the extent that my whole bag reeked of it when I returned home. It was weird that we went to parkrun and then breakfast and they called us at 8:30am (while we were still out) to find out if we were checking out (check out isn’t until 10!) Couldn’t get the spa to work in the bath.

Stopped overnight at Cara Motel to break up my trip home, and it was such a cosy and comfortable room! The lovely lady at reception was so welcoming, and everything felt clean and homely! Aircon was fantastic! Bathroom was immaculate, and bed felt like a cloud! Great central location, with parking right at your doorstep. Also impressed by the well maintained fishtank outside the main entrance! Highly recommend staying here!

Couldn't really fault it, except that there was no knife/ fork or plate in my room for eating purposes.

The property was spotlessly clean, tidy and welcoming. Even though it is on a main street opposite the hospital, it is very quiet and relaxing. Monica, the manager, went out of her way to check us in early. We (5 adults) were there for a work function and will now make the Cara Motel our go to accommodation every time we are in Maryborough. Lovely little motel I found last night when I was at my wits end trying to find anywhere on a dark night in a place where all the roads are under repair and the cars behind me are beeping for me to get out of their way and there are no street lights or road signs and Google Maps isn't working and there is no internet signal. Thank you to owner Emery and his lovely wife whose name I don't know and his fierce (not) guard-poodle Bella who alerted them to the fact that I'd fallen through their door exhausted having beaten my booking.com notification to them placed via a weak wifi signal I picked up at a nearby filling station. They gave me their last room and a jug of milk to make a cup of tea. The room was quiet, spacious and spotless with cosy decor and a well stocked kitchenette and mini bar. I needed and had a really good night's sleep. Can't recommend it enough. Nice people make all the difference

I was late arriving, 9pm, and hungry but no food anywhere nearby at that time or I'd have given Cara a full 10 out of 10. Would like to have seen a 3 course dinner waiting the mini bar (am I being too demanding? Yes!)

Room exceptionally clean. Great facilities, quiet area, comfy bed, great shower, has air con and ceiling fans, park out the front of motel room, easy access for taller cars, smokes area away from rooms. Older but fresh inside room, across from hospital.

Being across from the hospital you may hear a few sirens but not an excessive amount. rooms are quite spacious. The Owners are so sweet. this was our second time staying there. Nice and close to local shops

Milk not provided already in rooms- I think you could ask the owners for some (pretty sure thats what we did last time) but we just purchased our own milk this time. Which isnt a big deal or ruin the experience at all :)
