Had a great stay at the Ramada! Nice, big resort with a huge pool. The restaurant has good food and drinks, also available to order by the pool, also a poolside bar. Happy hour 4-6 with a good range of options! Staff are generally very friendly and helpful, check in comes with a welcome drink (alcoholic if you like). Room is big with a nice king bed, could be good if there was a sink in the kitchen. Get a daily cleaning service with fresh towels which is nice. Lots of free parking if you have a car. Wifi works well. Local shuttle bus you can book to pick you up and drop you in town from the hotel is easy to use- just call early as unpredictable timing.

We had a strange and unsettling experience during our stay where a few notes with incoherent writing were slid under our door. At first, this was quite scary as we had no idea what was happening. After speaking with reception, we were told it was likely from an elderly guest with some mental health challenges who sometimes does this. While we completely understand and sympathise with the situation, it did affect our sense of comfort, particularly the first time. It might be helpful if future guests could be discreetly informed in advance if this is a known issue. Would be great if they replaced the kitchen cutlery/ bowls we used in the daily clean since no kitchen sink to wash anything up.

Our one bedroom apartment was nice and clean on arrival. Spacious layout with a functioning kitchen and comfy bed. The view of the rainforest trees from the room on level 2 was great. The pool was generally clean and warm with modern daybeds, and a pool side bar / drinks service. Free parking on site and a short drive to the town centre.

Restaurant has a very limited menu which is disappointing when you don’t want to drive into town. Bathroom was a little small for the price. Daily cleaning service didn’t seem to include cleaning the room or bed; only replacing towels, which wasn’t ideal for a long stay. Sales pitch at check-in was a bit strange but wasn’t pressured when saying no. None of these points ruined our stay though!

Beautiful relaxing environment. Well maintained property. One of our favourite places to stay in Port Douglas. The gardens are gorgeous and the staff very friendly and helpful.

The only small negative is the check in process. After a 3 hour drive to Melbourne then a 3.5 hour flight to Cairns and an hour drive to Port Douglas, we arrived eager to check in and start our holiday. Instead we were sat down with a staff member (with a complementary drink) and given some great tour options etc, from a lovely friendly staff member, then began the spiel about the Club Wyndham information session. It was the last thing we felt like doing and we didn’t want to appear rude but didn’t really just wanted to go to our room, get into cooler clothes and relax.

-Nice location at the bottom end of 4 Mile Beach with an interesting rainforest concept. I enjoyed the pool area and the boardwalks connecting the hotel. The sounds of birds, insects, frogs and running water make the complex feel peaceful. -Short drive from Port Douglas town centre, and they offer shuttle bus packages for guests without cars. -Rooms are large with plenty of space to open luggage. Every room has a dehumidifier and they ask that you keep the AC on at all times to keep the humidity at bay. Our rooms were always dry and cool when we came back. -Thankfully we were not hounded into watching a 2 hour long timeshare presentation as we arrived in the evening and had plans most days. But we also missed our welcome drink and coupon booklet and didn't get them until our second last day, still a win-win. -All the staff we interacted with were very nice and accommodating.

Don't know what counts as a 4 Star hotel but I don't think this place should be rated that high. - odd smell throughout the entire hotel which had me running back to my room every time we returned. could be fertiliser or built up mildew, not sure. - housekeeping did not vacuum or change sheets for 4 nights, but there is a broom so you can sweep your own floor while holidaying at a tropical resort - bathrooms and appliances vary greatly, my parents bathroom was up to date and modern but mine looked like the cheap motel from my Year 6 camp - restaurant prices were a bit steep, especially with the public holiday surcharges, and there were almost no low-end spa treatments

Meet by a staff member who went through the ammenities and layout of hotel. Given a welcome drink if our choice and discount book for attractions and restaurants in area. Room was large and comfortable with modern bathroom. Played bingo in the bistro on Friday night and pool and gardens were shady and lush. Staff were helpful when asked a question.

We had room C114, which was near the games room. The noise coming down the corridor from people playing was a repetitive banging sound, which was annoying. Maybe a door at end of corridor would dull this noise. Not the hotels fault but guests just let their doors slam and children running and shouting along the corridors. Bit of a walk from the car park to our room dragging suitcases.

Room was very comfortable, clean and staff were pleasant and helpful.

As I was travelling with a 2 year old the only issue was the restaurant and a play area is located beside the pool area which has no pool fencing to keep the kids away from the pool. You can't take your eyes off them for a minute even while eating. There is pool fencing on the other sides but not from restaurant to pool. You need to go through pool fencing to get to the restaurant but this issue could become a real safety issue

The room was lovely and big and the pool was very refreshing after a hot day.

One evening I slipped and fell on the path as it was very slippery and hurt my foot, I told them at reception asked if they had any pain killers. The girl quite rudely said you can have these for $6. I was in quite a bit of pain and she didn't even offer me a chair to sit on or even an ice pack. Later that evening the night manger rang to ask me if I went to the hospital and I said no I didn't and she was glad I didn't go for some reason. Not very good customer skills at all.

Loved salt Pool, shallow ends for kids deep in middle and just right temp. Lots of space to lounge around pool. Bistro is pool side but can get wait service anywhere you prefer to relax or room service, even swim up bar. Enjoyed relaxing reading book in wharf area, fans over head and cool breeze off large ponds that have big barramundi. Tropical gardens in & surrounds resort. Short walk to Long Beach could walk 45 mins left then right, can find shade from shrub & lots of coconut trees in afternoons. Handy toilet block at entry to beach. Mini bus will take you to town or most attractions pick up if don’t wish to hire car. And do own laundry with good machines, 1 hour to do both wash and the dry of a clothes. Fresh towels including pool towels and basic house tidy every day. Nothing is too much if ask reception for anything would like more of.

Room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Lovely boardwalk from reception to the pool area, felt very tropical and relaxing. Nice sitting nooks on the board walk. Good car parking spaces.

The air conditioner was loud and rattly and this occurred at 330am causing a broken sleep, it had to be turned off. The pool was a nice resort area but somehow the lounge chairs were jammed in. Dined in the onsite restaurant. Limited menu, disappointed with the special gnocchi as it was very small, more like an entree size.

Close to Port Douglas. We arrived on AFL grand final day. Bar set up screen/TV for everyone to enjoy. Able to get takeaway coffees downstairs in morning at cafe. Games area is a great idea & quiet sitting areas located around resort. We used these zones regularly. Free fish feeding for kids. Torches being lit in garden at night are a nice touch. Reception staff very helpful. Housekeeping staff are like invisible good fairies-amazing at their job!

Wyndham sales staff wanting us to go to their information sessions when we are on holiday mode. You do feel pushed to go. Originally sounded pleasant as they want to give you knowledge and a voucher as a gift but once you indicate you’d like to read into the information after attending, the main presenter unfortunately made 1 of our family members feel belittled for asking a question. We had been very interested until he spoke to our table so it is unfortunate this conversation occurred. It upset our family member for the rest of the day and if had known this would happen would have chosen somewhere else to stay so didn’t feel like we were being made to feel guilty for wanting to study a brochure in depth.
