Fabulous central location. We arrived after 5pm but key instructions were clear and it was easy to get our key. The instructions to find our room were excellent. We did end up on 3rd floor but stairs are substantial with good hand rails on both sides. A kind fellow guest took our 2nd suitcase up! The guests in fact are a friendly bunch and several people were returning guests (a good sign). The manager who is in the office from 8 to 5 is very helpful and knowledgeable with help delivered with a smile. The apartment has a separate sitting room and a kitchen with a full size refrigerator. The multiple ceiling fans give lovely cooling breezes.

Great location on Macrossan Street — perfect for a trip to the supermarket, bars, or fine dining at the Nautilus restaurant. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with Netflix, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a pool, towels, large kitchens, and a comfortable living area. Separate bedrooms, a bathroom, and a balcony add to the convenience. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and full of information about excursions and transfers. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Nothing all great! However, if you want a heliport, golf course and a flunky, you'll have to pay over the odds and stay outside of Macrossan Street. We will return to The Newport for sure, thank you.

Good location with on site parking and close to shops and restaurants right out the door. Nice pool area with BBQ. Clean and spacious. Quiet for the most part. Owners did a good job preparing my room after being advised of my sensitivity to fragranced cleaners and such, so very grateful for that.

Quite dated and for an older person very hard to get in and out of the very high tub/shower combination especially after a hip replacement. Fortunately the upstairs neighbors were on a similar schedule to us because I could hear them walking around above us. Plastic tumblers and wine glasses instead of glass.

Lovley stay in Port Douglas! I came up for a wedding and the accommodation was very central on the main strip, surrounded by countless restaurants opposite from a grocery store and was walking distance to St Mary's by the Sea. Room was very clean with everything you'd need and even a little balcony! Staff were extremely kind and helpful. Also has a great pool with sun lounges and a BBQ area! Absolutely would stay again if I'm back in Port Douglas in the future.

None of the windows had flyscreens, being queensland there are alot of bugs out, so I couldn't leave the widows open.

Our stay was excellent! The staff were incredibly lovely, friendly, and welcoming. The apartment's location was perfect, with everything we needed close by—a supermarket center and pubs just across the road, the beach within walking distance, and plenty of restaurants and boutique shops nearby. The apartment itself was roomy, the beds were comfortable, and it had all the amenities we required. Bonus, the pool is only a few steps away from the apartment front door when we needed to cool down.. We were extremely pleased with our stay!

The Newport is in a great location, right on the main street near the water. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. There is free covered secured parking in the hotel too. The pool looked very nice, but we didn't have time to us it. Our Queen room was on the first floor, so not many steps to climb. We had a large jacuzzi ensuite and a covered patio which I appreciated. Reception was very friendly and helpful, though you will need to phone him if he's not there.

The room was a little small so we didn't have much room for our second suitcase.

Staff amazing! Great welcome and suggestions! Great location! - right by the marina, restaurants, pubs/bars and opposite supermarket and medical centre. Great to have car park. Has laundry services Pool was lovely and clean with great clean bbq

No air-con in one of the rooms making it a bit hot during the night with the door closed (which we had to have shut due to a loud snorer and the other room not having a proper door which would keep the noise out) wouldn’t stop us coming back though

The room is well appointed and it has a very spacious ensuite. The location is excellent, you are in walking distance to all the main attractions and restaurants in Port Douglas. We did not use the pool but we did walk past it and the pool area looked clean and modern.

Be aware there are a lot of stairs on this property and no elevator. We were aware of this prior to arriving but it was still a hassle when bringing our luggage up to the room. The room itself is a little small. The bed takes up most of the room footprint, the ensuite is almost as big as the entire room. The room could have been cleaner, there were stains on the window blinds.

This is a very clean, well maintained complex with a friendly, approachable manager. We checked in after hours and this process worked well.

The main problem we had was not directly to do with the complex however, while the location was super convenient for markets, shopping and restaurants, the noise from Central Hotel at night was not great. The apartment has thicker glass to the bedroom which did help however, there were bands in the front of the hotel and this was quite noisy. We spoke to the Manager and he was going to resolve this with the owner of the bar.

It was great being in the centre of town. The pool was lovely and warm. The room was comfortable and well equipped

A basic supply of condiments like salt, pepper and perhaps kitchen roll would have been helpful.
