The spacious room has a comfortable bed for resting, and a small living room has a minibar with a refrigerator if you need to store some things. The bathroom is large and very clean. They clean the room every day if you request it. The reception staff is very friendly...I arrived very late on the day of check-in and there was someone waiting at reception to greet me. It is very well located, with several tram and bus stops outside the hotel and a short distance from the central train station. There is a very good restaurant in the lobby and there are many restaurants and convenience stores around. They store your luggage after checkout if you need it.

From the welcome by the reception team to the checkout, there are so many things to like in between. The staff are lovely, warm, and professional. Although I do still pine for the old school warmth and cosiness of the previous decor, the new rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Maison Clément as the in-house restaurant, is always a pleasure and such a value add to staying here. The room prices are absolute value for money.

The parking is probably a good deal for a city stay, but as a rural intrastate driver with few other options but to drive into the city, it's a pretty big hit financially for 2 nights to park.

This hotel is right in the hub of Adelaide within walking distance of Rundle Mall, Hindley St The Oval and more. We stayed as we went to a football match. Very convenient. Staff at reception welcoming and helpful. It looks as though there have been recent renovations as the bathroom had a modern look. Restaurant in the morning was perfect for breakfast. Definitely recommended

Parking out the front whilst checking in can be problematic if all spots are taken up. However we just went around the corner put the car into Wilson’s park in Hindley St and the hotel fixed up the rate to $25 per night

Great location, good price, value for money, great food in restaurant, all good.

A very good size room with a comfortable bed and a very good shower room , clean and quiet The Restaurant Maison Clement had an excellent French dinner menu and great pastries for breakfast along with a full menu

The only thing needed to take this hotel from being good to excellent is the total lack of storage places . No drawers, no shelves and only a very inadequate hanging space Every thing we brought with us either has to be left in our cases or stacked on a table Definitely not good enough

Convenience of closeness to city icons and cafes, restaurants and pub/bar facilities etc. Tram & bus transport facility, just great.

The problem of not having a parking facility at Chancellor on Currie. I rented a car from the airport for 13 days and the 6 days I was here, I didn't use it in case I couldn't get a parking space back at Wilsons carpark who do a special deal with Chancellor at $25 per day when I returned from somewhere on a particular day. So that left me $150 out of pocket, plus the 1st 6 days rental charge. Whenever you go to Chancellor on Currie from the airport make sure you organise a ride in only, either Uber, Didi, Taxis etc. We live and learn I guess.

Excellent refurbished hotel with spacious, modern rooms. Simple, elegant furnishing in the room. Nice grey sofa in the suite. Large screen Philips TVs and Japanese air conditioning. The staff service from reception is what makes this hotel, however, not just the nice new facilities. There were some issues with my room but each staff member resolved the situation in a timely and profressional manner. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in my vacation and making my stay better. Truly superb.

Soundproofing is not the best but still better than a lot of city hotels...

Spotlessly clean A dear old hotel fully renovated with modern bathrooms & huge bedroom.Quality bedding. Excellent cafe on site. Big choice of delicious croissants etc. Had the best Monsieur Croquet ever Restaurant also another big bonus at this hotel. Bus from airport stops in Currie St with an easy less than 5 minute walk to the hotel.Staff throughout all so friendly & helpful. We arrived early expecting to just leave bags at reception however room was ready so they booked us in immediately. There was no expection however a very welcome way to start our stay in Adelaide. Definitely go o back to hotel

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic hotel, and I couldn't be more impressed! The location was absolutely excellent, within walking distance to all the major attractions. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and all the amenities I needed. But what really made my stay stand out was the exceptional staff. Every single person I interacted with was helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond to make my stay special.

Really nothing negative to say about the hotel.

We arrived around 8:30pm at The Chancellor hotel the day before Good Friday 2025. The check-in was very smooth, the hotel had kept the keys and check-in formalities ready. Interestingly, they have a small 3-4 car parking strip (more like a drop off zone) right in front of their side entrance on Gilbert Pl to park your car for a few mins, while you unload your luggage and get the paid parking voucher from them for the Wilson parking 5 mins walk from the hotel. Such a boon for guests. The room was great, quite spacious given it was located in the CBD, modern décor, good lighting, modern clean toilets with plenty of towels, toiletries and a hair dryer. The carpet of the room looked new and freshly cleaned, the study desk and a chair, 2 single-seater chairs with a small table, a mini-fridge and plenty of tea/coffee /sugar sachets (refilled everyday) with an electric kettle. The beds had crisp clean linen, the pillows were great, and the bed was super comfy! Loved every aspect of the room, especially the fact that it was 1 street off Hindley St and 5 mins walk to Rundle St malls, in short bang in the centre of the happening part of city! The hotel also had a barista for coffee, restaurant cum bar which served breakfast, lunch and dinner and drinks. There were some great pubs next to the hotel at the end of Gilbert Pl, 50m from the hotel. Don't worry, the sound proofing was amazing. The customer service of the Reception staff was very good. Another interesting point which was also a life-saver for us – The hotel has a late-night pizza menu in-service only for the hotel guests which was great as our Kangaroo Island trip finished after 11pm and most decent restaurants were closed by then (except the fast food chains like McD or Hungry J) and this was the only was of getting some food without going out that late at night. Overall, a great hotel, definitely value for money and will recommend others to stay here, will stay again if I am visiting Adelaide.

Adding a microwave in the rooms can be a big benefit to the guests who have certain restrictions or certain medical conditions, they can purchase their food, store it in the mini-fridge and reheat at their comfort and as per their needs.
