As a first time visitor to Hobart for a few days, I was looking for somewhere that would be a great base with a really modern room that was good value for money. I was blown away at how nice my room was for the price. They've obviously done a little renovation recently cause the room is practically brand new! Bed was super comfy, a huge Smart TV on the wall and a beautiful bathroom. Not to mention a perfect little desk in the room to get some work done too. The location was also fantastic as it was a stones throw from some amazing cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as a 5 minute walk to Salamanca - or 10/15 minutes from Hobart CBD. Battery Point is definitely the best location as it's close to the city but still far enough out that's quiet and peaceful. If you have a car, there's also a car park that's free of charge once you have your room key. Checkout being 11am is also a nice touch because who wants to be checking out at 10am! Not me that's for sure.

The only downside in my opinion was that the restaurant wasn't open for breakfast. I think it opened for lunch from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, and then again at 5.30pm for dinner but finished up at 8.30pm. I arrived late on a Wednesday evening at about 9.30pm and would have liked the option to get something to eat and had to walk to a Maccas instead. I didn't mind too much either way because I'm a big cafe guy so would always want to get my breakfast & lunch somewhere else but would have been nice to have it as an option. The rest of the building is also only alright looking from the outside. If they did up the rest of it like they've done the rooms upstairs, this hotel, bar and restaurant would be a standout in Hobart for sure!

Visually pleasing interior of the hotel and room.

2nd morning shower began to run somewhat cool. The temperture was somewhat better the next morning. I wasn't taking an excessive shower time. Sound proofing between rooms is poor: Guests in adjacent room coughing and talking till 1.00am. Instructions for coffee machine not clear. The machine swallowed the coffee capsule and the machine overflowed all over the tray. Quite a mess for me to clean up. A window was slightly openat the top. There were hand prints on the glass presumably because guests had tried to close it to stop the cold air coming in. However, I would stay again.

The location was perfect, a short walk to the Salamanca markets, Harbour and eateries. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff, though they were busy and I had to wait a few minutes, the staff made sure I was being looked after, they were warm and welcoming throughout the duration of our stay. The hotel rooms were clean with modern furnishings and we had a slight view of the harbour. The food was pub style food, hearty, generous meals that were fresh and delicious. I would recommend Prince Of Wales Hotel to my family and friends and stay there again on my next visit.

We did have a small leak from the toilet, but staff were quick to respond and sorted us out with another room and a bottle of wine.

This is a fantastic hotel. Excellent customer rooms with comfortable beds. Great smart tv and love the mirror in the bathroom with Bluetooth speaker and anti fog feature. Fantastic location, quiet and the restaurant in the hotel has great food. Bakery across the road for breakfast and easy walking distance to Salamanca. Easy car parking also included.

Hot water can be a bit hit and miss from day to day and there is only stairs to get up to the first floor with your luggage but only a minor inconvenience

The location was excellent. At the end of the short street and we were at Kelly Steps leading to Salamanca Place. In addition, Battery Point is such a great suburb to walk around, seeing interesting historical buildings, a handful of coffee shops and at least 4 restaurants to choose from. Our rooms were newly furnished and very comfortable. The bathroom, although small had all we needed - roomy shower, WC, basin and quality products to use (Occitane). The Wifi was good. No lifts, but the rooms were only on the first floor and the stair weren’t narrow. An added bonus was the private, off street car park. In summary, an excellent and very reasonably priced stay

All good

The apartment was brand new and had everything we needed for a family of 4. The beds were very comfortable with crisp linens and great selection of pillows. Location was walking distance to Salamanca and had options for great coffee and snacks nearby. A great balcony with outdoor seating was a lovely bonus.

This is a pub hotel and so there is some noise from the pub downstairs. We experienced a few people milling around the car park around 10pm on the Thursday night, then a band until approx 1030 on the Friday night. It didn't worry us as we were awake (and the band was great), but if you go to bed early it may impact your peace.

This place is an absolute gem. The recently renovated rooms were top quality and you cannot beat the location a short walk to the heart of Hobart. I didn't have a car with me but it looked like plenty of on site parking as well. I ate that night in there in house restaurant and I couldn't ask for a better cooked, tasty steak even though I was nearly the only person there. This place is as good as a lot of the more famous accommodation around that area and certainly a lot cheaper.

The room size and layout. The shower area, towel rack and soap dispenser. Bed was huge and comfortable. Quiet area.

We were very disappointed that even though we had arranged a late check in time the staff member tried to leave us to our own resources. When we arrived within the arranged check in time, the whole place was dark , had to ask him to turn on the light so we could see where & how to enter. He certainly didn't welcome us, he was only staff member we saw.

The room was new, modern and clean. The bed was incredibly comfy and pillows still full and fluffy. Lots of great little details in the rooms with mood lighting, lamps and a lighted mirror in the bathroom. There was a pod coffee machine with all the pods, tea, sugar and milk to go with it. Overall I had an amazing stay and was wowed by how nice the room was! Not to mention free secure parking in such a central location!

Nothing bad to say!

This was a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious and well furnished with a comfortable bed and pillows. Nice new bathroom that is functional and looks good. Everything works and functions as you’d expect and looks great. Free onsite parking. Location is great, short walk to Markets and several cafes and restaurants. The live music was noticeable, but not to the point of being unbearable or disrupting sleep.
