Beautiful hotel, great facilities and location. Lovely old building and I liked the decor, old world but modern. Phenomenal buffet breakfast, best I've ever had. The staff were lovely and attentive.

Rooms on level 1 are street level and people outside can see in, so I had to keep the blinds closed all the time which I found quite frustrating. I am surprised they hadn't found a solution like window frosting (just partial would be sufficient so you can still see out). The hotel is connected to a bar, the hipsters working there were a bit unwelcoming and rude when I walked in but they weren't open, lock the door or use signage then, maybe? There is another lounge that was closed in the evenings, I wish it had stayed open, it would have been nice to have somewhere to sit in the hotel in the evening s.

+ Beautiful, stylish room (Heritage King Room). We were impressed with our room as the layout was practical and spacious, and was on a higher floor with water views. + Excellent location with many attractions within walking distance. + On the weekend, breakfast at Peppina was truly excellent with a wide range of beautifully prepared and selected food e.g. salads, fresh strawberries, quality smoked salmon, great pastries. + The beds were very plush and comfortable, and the bathroom was large. + On request, a complimentary newspaper was delivered to our room. + Guest services responded to our requests very quickly and graciously. + Vickie from front of house was extremely helpful in arranging things for our stay. When we arrived, in our room there was a beautiful surprise and personalised card from The Tasman to celebrate our special occasion.

- Would be great if there was a complimentary movie channel. - On Monday the range of food at breakfast at Peppina was more limited as they did not need to cater for non-hotel guests. - On the weekend breakfast at Peppina was extremely busy and noisy. We thought that the reason it took quite a while to be seated was because of the large number of diners, however, on Monday it was quite quiet but took longer to be seated. It seems that more staff members are needed at breakfast.

A wonderful fairly new addition to the Hobart hotel scene. Great location, very close to the CBD and easy walking distance to the harbour, Salamanca Markets, restaurants, pubs, Battery Point historical area. Staff were exceptional - not just one or two but every single employee of the many we encountered throughout our 4 night stay was friendly, happy, engaged. A very reasonable rate for the quality of the hotel and location. We didn’t have a water view room but had great views of the city, cathedral etc from our 6th floor windows. Bathroom fabulous. We ran out of nights to dine at Peppina but had pre dinner drinks with friends or nightcaps every night at Mary Mary, a wonderful trendy bar. We were delighted during our visit to learn that our choice of hotel had been voted as one of the top 50 hotels in the world, one of only two in Australia.

Nothing at all.

Nice staff and nice rooms. We came back in after mountain biking and they delivered hot chocolate to our room which was very kind. They also went out of their way to get us a thermometer from the pharmacy which was greatly appreciated.

Ordered room service and it took an hour and was cold when it arrived. When we went to eat the ice cream there was 1/4 of the ice cream already eaten out of the tub! We had to call to send it back. They did apologise and didn’t charge us for the new ice cream which was nice of them. Additionally, the mini bar was never restocked once which was disappointing. We managed to live with it though.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the luxurious Tasman Hotel! The location was fantastic, with Brooke Street Pier and numerous restaurants and cafes all within easy walking distance. We loved the Art Deco influence in our room and the gorgeous original artworks and custom furnishings throughout the hotel. Our room was also spotlessly clean and exceptionally comfortable. The young staff were friendly, helpful and professional, and the breakfast in the onsite restaurant, Peppina (included in the cost of the stay!) was incredible, with an amazing array of delicious foods! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Tasman to family and friends.

We couldn't fault a thing!

Staff were fantastic. Location was great, parking was made very easy and convenient and staff were very helpful. Room was high spec although a bit small but generally very well maintained and clean.

Spare toilet tissue roll was placed in a bag in the toilet on the cabinet, the front was clean but the back was covered with dusts. Stayed 4 nights but only got complimentary water on first night. Left a note on 2nd day and they left us water but by 3rd and 4th night they had forgotten again and we didn’t have any water in the room. Water is inexpensive so we are guessing that they just forgot.

From start to finish it was the best hotel experience I’ve had! Having worked in the industry as well, I was absolutely amazed by the service and attention to detail. I was greeted at the front with a very warm welcome and my room was ready early. The room was an incredible mixture of heritage accents and modern features and technology with a beautiful bathroom and incredible views of Hobart city. It was my first time visiting Hobart and I didn’t have a car and the location couldn’t have been more perfect to walk down to Salamanca markets, the pier and the city. Every single staff member made me feel so welcome and at home, being kind and attentive every time I came in and out. I’d recommend including breakfast for anyone staying as it was absolutely phenomenal. All produce is local and incredibly fresh and being coeliac it’s usually a little limited but I had so many options and nothing was too much to ask for! I even got little gluten free cakes and all the staff remembered every morning during my stay. A special mention to Gurpreet and his incredible service and kindness. Thank you for making my stay so special to all of the staff at the Tasman!

Check in and out were easy. The Welcome Drink was a nice touch. Our package included 1pm late checkout which was a bonus. Breakfast was also included in our package. The restaurant is world class. Best hotel breakfast ever (seriously), pride in local produce. If I lived in Hobart, I'd come here for the occasional breakfast. The variety and quality of foods offered was remarkable. Excellent bar and lounge. Gym is great. Heritage building beautifully renovated to modern standards. There are new and older rooms in this hotel but both are equally well-appointed. There is no swimming pool, though that was of no concern to me. the location is excellent; very close to Salamanca market (Saturday mornings) and the wharves. This was my second stay (first time was for a conference - sessions at conference centre at one of the wharves) and I will return.

Convenient for walking to shopping, dining, Salamanca and the riverfront area. Small but well-designed room with a pleasant view over the city. Discreet new stylish hotel, interior with natural stone finishes relating to the history of the building.

The actual bed was very comfortable but the pillows were terrible, huge hard and heavy. A request for a softer pillow achieved nothing as an identical pillow was delivered to the room, with the comment that this was the only sort available. I bought a soft pillow from Myer the next day. A hotel at this price should have a choice of pillows. The atmosphere in the hotel itself was calm and quiet but it was a bit disappointing that traffic noise/sirens came up from Davey Street, especially at night. A room facing the other way may be quieter.

The hotel is perfectly located and supple with friendly helpful staff with spotless rooms and facilities. The continental breakfast served at Peppina was very elevated and scrumptious. There was a wide selection of options, fresh honey from the comb and options of eggs made fresh to your table. Fantastic breakfast if not one of the best 'continental' breakfasts I've ever had.

There was really nothing to be disliked at this location. If I had to nitpick it would be that there may be occasional drunk tourists who you can hear outside the hotel. My room was street facing so if the room you stay in was not it may have been much more quiet.
