Good harbour views Good size room. Great included breakfast. Lovely staff.

Loud annoying patrons of the pub outside the window until after midnight. Some clown on a motorbike reving the guts out of his bike at 230am when he missed a gear twice. Then the rubbish trucks from 430am onwards. The double glazed windows did not keep the noise out. Suggest triple glazed as a minimum. No parking "this time of year" as there is a food festival in the allotted car park. $5.30 per hour on the road outside but 1 hour maximum and then move to another for another hour until the 6pm to 830am free parking kicks in then $5.30 an hour max then a shift around the block and another $5 plus until check out time.

💝 🥰 Customs is a gorgeous old hotel with so much history and character … I seek out places like this when I travel: I have an aversion to soulless big modern hotels The location is insane … on the stunning harbour Salamanca was like … right there on the doorstep The bars, pubs cafes etc … all around you The ferry to MONA … just there … Busses to Port Arthur etc 2mins away UNBELIEVABLE bonus … set the alarm ⏰ for 2.30 to watch the 1st yacht come in .. a 2 min walk to Constitution… AND … all crews head to Customs for a beers after … what a hoot … awesome 😅⛵️⛵️⛵️ 😅 ☕️🥑🧀🍳😋 Breakfast was such a highlight … breakfast and coffee came with the booking: love that I loved the dining room and the staff who looked after me were fantastic… great staff 👏👏👏 Set the tone for a fab day exploring your gorgeous town Food in the restaurant was delish 💖 I LOVE Customs House & have told everyone about my experience Obviously… 🏆🥇 I want to return Thank you all staff for making my stay memorable 🩵

Honestly can’t think of anything 🤔💭

Location was fabulous we could walk everywhere

Believe it or not , the toilet paper was awful We never received the phone entry app we were told about even though when we brought it up the lady said she did it , she wasn’t apologetic at all ( Asian lady )

Lovely rooms, very convenient and centrally located. Staff were wonderful - reception staff and restaurant manager were particularly welcoming. Our room was so quiet despite coming on the Easter long weekend as it was at the back of the property. The free breakfast is also a massive perk as hotel guests can choose any dish from the restaurant breakfast menu plus a hot drink, and access to juice and water (only paying for additional/ extra items).

The only downside - which the property did communicate to us well ahead of time and we do not fault this at all - is that our room did not have an openable window, so there was no fresh air. We ran the aircon on Fan mode the whole time to keep the air circulating in our room, which made it much less stuffy.

3 nights stay at hotel. Fantastic location and reception staff very good. Note we had parking as well at $20 per day, this in open reserved space across road not secured. Bed was hard, room needed to be vacuumed more than once as they service them daily but still residual carpet pile and fluff around. We had rear room as were told it was quieter than front room due to pub being busy on Friday and Saturday nights and music very Lou’s.o. It was still quite loud. Breakfast was very good as were all staff on site. Reception gave us a lot of information and instructions, would be good to have these printed out as well as it was information overload.

The hotel is placed in a great location, close to the sea side, Salamanca Place and the centre. Staff were very kind. The building is quite particular given its history and it is nice that its features have been maintained.

The restaurant was quite noisy in the evening - it was very busy - so it was difficult to talk. Also our room was quite dark, it would have required some more lights. We had to use the light in the bathroom in the evening to have some more light in the room. There were no ceiling lights over the bed and only one bed side lamp on one side which was not enough. .

The hotel is well located opposite the docks and Salamanca Place. It is a contemporary hotel housed in a beautiful old building. The old sandstone walls were integrated as feature walls. We stayed in a superior double room with a balcony overlooking the busy harbour, but it was very quiet and very comfortable. It was spacious, modern and very clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious, being able to choose from the normal menu. The restaurant is cosy with an open fire. The carpark was very convenient, just opposite the hotel, and well organised by the hotel. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Perfect little historic place filled with character and charm. We loved our stay, they said may be noisy in queen room above bar, well surprisingly, it was pretty quiet, had no problems at all. Small room but it’s all you needed, our view from the windows was Parliament House, the park and could see Salamanca place. The breakfast inclusion was amazing, great meal and lovely coffee. Bed super comfy, very clean and had everything you need in a room. Staff so friendly and restaurant staff always greeted you with smile and great service. We will definitely return.

Can’t fault it really, was the perfect stay for us.

I had a very nice room with a view of the parliament building. The room was large and spacious. They offer free breakfast at the restaurant. My room was above the bar so it was loud at night but they warned me about this serval times and noise doesn't bother me so it ended up being no issue and for the price I was very happy. the staff is helpful and everyone is very nice. Good location easy to walk to most places in Hobart and a very short walk to the tourist center where most tours pick up from.

Overall it was great. My one complaint would be breakfast it's served from 7AM on but most tours leave at 7AM or earlier so I wasn't able to take advantage. Also because it's sit down waiter service you can't just grab some food before you run out to catch a tour. But just factor that in. The hotel is also on a hill so people with mobility issues may have some issue but you can enter through the restaurant (if open) for a more mobility friendly entrance. Also there are a lot of steps as it's an old building so again this could be in issue for some people

The location is fantastic, staff are very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was excellent, the pub is a great venue, live music. Our room was really quiet. We really enjoyed our stay.

We where in room 29 and the only negative thing I could say is it needs a bit of a freshen up. As a plumber I notice the bathrooms. The basin is cracked and needs replacing, the spout for the basin sprays water out and needs replacing, the toilet is old with a plastic seat and the whole suite needs replacing, the shower recess needs to be re-grouted and the shower door probably need replacing as it is not easy to open and close. I would also give the room a lick of paint.
