Good harbour views Good size room. Great included breakfast. Lovely staff.
Loud annoying patrons of the pub outside the window until after midnight. Some clown on a motorbike reving the guts out of his bike at 230am when he missed a gear twice. Then the rubbish trucks from 430am onwards. The double glazed windows did not keep the noise out. Suggest triple glazed as a minimum. No parking "this time of year" as there is a food festival in the allotted car park. $5.30 per hour on the road outside but 1 hour maximum and then move to another for another hour until the 6pm to 830am free parking kicks in then $5.30 an hour max then a shift around the block and another $5 plus until check out time.

💝 🥰 Customs is a gorgeous old hotel with so much history and character … I seek out places like this when I travel: I have an aversion to soulless big modern hotels The location is insane … on the stunning harbour Salamanca was like … right there on the doorstep The bars, pubs cafes etc … all around you The ferry to MONA … just there … Busses to Port Arthur etc 2mins away UNBELIEVABLE bonus … set the alarm ⏰ for 2.30 to watch the 1st yacht come in .. a 2 min walk to Constitution… AND … all crews head to Customs for a beers after … what a hoot … awesome 😅⛵️⛵️⛵️ 😅 ☕️🥑🧀🍳😋 Breakfast was such a highlight … breakfast and coffee came with the booking: love that I loved the dining room and the staff who looked after me were fantastic… great staff 👏👏👏 Set the tone for a fab day exploring your gorgeous town Food in the restaurant was delish 💖 I LOVE Customs House & have told everyone about my experience Obviously… 🏆🥇 I want to return Thank you all staff for making my stay memorable 🩵
Honestly can’t think of anything 🤔💭

Location was fabulous we could walk everywhere
Believe it or not , the toilet paper was awful We never received the phone entry app we were told about even though when we brought it up the lady said she did it , she wasn’t apologetic at all ( Asian lady )

Lovely rooms, very convenient and centrally located. Staff were wonderful - reception staff and restaurant manager were particularly welcoming. Our room was so quiet despite coming on the Easter long weekend as it was at the back of the property. The free breakfast is also a massive perk as hotel guests can choose any dish from the restaurant breakfast menu plus a hot drink, and access to juice and water (only paying for additional/ extra items).
The only downside - which the property did communicate to us well ahead of time and we do not fault this at all - is that our room did not have an openable window, so there was no fresh air. We ran the aircon on Fan mode the whole time to keep the air circulating in our room, which made it much less stuffy.

The rooms are extremely clean. Great job by the cleaners. I noticed the high cleanliness standard immediately. Really handy having the bar downstairs and restaurant. Great location. Easy walking distance to CBD and waterfront. Great proximity to Daci and Daci bakers on Murray Street!! Definitely get some pastries there, it's wonderful.
My room was at the back so there wasn't the greatest of views, but I wasn't in the room much, so it wasn't an issue. But the hotel was transparent about this room upfront, and they put me at the back to minimise any noise from the below bars. I could still hear some noise, but it didn't bother me much as I stayed during a major event period where it was busy everywhere and I was out during the evening anyway.

The room was very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and it was well appointed with a small tea/coffee bar which our daughter was excited to see included hot cocoa. The included breakfast was quite good and included an entre and a drink from their menu. The location was excellent with an easy walk to most areas in downtown Hobart. The front staff was friendly and helpful as well.
I can't even really complain about any noise, but there was one night were there was live music in their bar that continued a bit late. The hotel did mention on their booking that there could occasionally be some noise though so it wasn't a surprise or anything. It may even be a positive, if you are looking for a bit of night life.

I've stayed several times at Customs House Hotel and it's very comfortable, with the location is unbeatable if youre travelling to MONA, hanging around Salamanca Place or the pier areas. I stayed in #14 which is a Waterfront Superior room and you can't hear the street or hotel noise if youre wondering. The breakfast is complimentary which is obviously Reception were still very helpful with all the information. I arrived very early in the day and while I didnt ask to check in earlier (loads to see and do) they already had a room ready to check-in to for which I was really very grateful. I'd stay here again.
There was a buzzing sound from the bar fridge. Could be annoying for light sleepers.

3 nights stay at hotel. Fantastic location and reception staff very good. Note we had parking as well at $20 per day, this in open reserved space across road not secured. Bed was hard, room needed to be vacuumed more than once as they service them daily but still residual carpet pile and fluff around. We had rear room as were told it was quieter than front room due to pub being busy on Friday and Saturday nights and music very Lou’s.o. It was still quite loud. Breakfast was very good as were all staff on site. Reception gave us a lot of information and instructions, would be good to have these printed out as well as it was information overload.

Room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean! The location is ideal for anyone wanting to explore the most exciting areas in Hobart and the hotel restaurant is excellent. All staff were friendly and inviting, overall a lovely stay.
*The room I stayed it was directly over the bar, which was on for a great deal and as I found out this is because the sound proofing from the live music is very poor. For the price I didn't mind, but if you end up taking the room over the bar and are staying over the weekend, might be best if you're someone who's gonna stay out longer than the band is playing. (They were a very good band though!)

Wonderful location right in the heart of Hobart Harbour. To be across the road from Brooke St Pier (perfect for cruises to Peppermint Bay or Mona or the Skybus) across from the park (with beautiful autumn leaves) which leads to Salamanca, beautiful Battery Point and excellent food and shopping options) a short walk to Fish Frenzy (best fish and chips in Tassie) and the other great eating and drinking options of the harbour is ideal. The rooms at Customs House are clean and very comfortable, breakfast was excellent, the service friendly and the proximity to the pub downstairs is very convenient.
