Moss Hotel is the ultimate Salamanca experience, situated within walking distance of many Hobart historic sights. The old building has been repurposed beautifully. Our room had high-ceilings and huge windows with a view to the harbour. We bought delicious meals and local produce at Salamanca Fresh downstairs. The staff were so helpful with tourist information and parking. Highly recommend this hotel.

Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated to highlight the uniqueness of the historical building while being very comfortable. The location was excellent with many great restaurants and attractions within a 10 minute walk - if you’re visiting for Winter Feast it’s directly across the road, couldn’t be more convenient. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the housekeeping team do a great job

Parking is a block away from the hotel and an extra $20 a day, though this is understandable as the hotel is in a historic district and there isn’t an abundance of space for parking. Just worth factoring in your considerations

The reception staff were amazing, welcoming us in an extremely friendly and professional manner. We were personally escorted to our rooms (which were next to each other) and shown the amenities, lights, and other room features. The bed and pillows were super comfy, and the room cleanliness was impeccable. Although parking was offsite, we were offered to keep our car in the reception area, which was a lovely touch. We would definitely return to Moss Hotel.

With the markets on, finding the right entrance was a challenge. However, after a friendly professional conversation with hotel reception, we found it.

Perfect location at Salamanca for any sightseeing or restaurants, with great decor and comfort bed. Parking convenient and available for $20 a night which was a good deal for the area. Hotel is on a busy street and our room was right above a pub, you could hear some noise but room is well sound-proofed and didn’t disrupt our sleep.

Bad lighting in the rooms and bathroom, no mirror other than the one in bathroom. Something to note, we wanted to watch a movie after a night out but the TVs are a relic for the price you pay, not offering full free to air options and no streaming/casting option.

We loved this hotel! It was a tiny bit difficult to find at first, but it is in an amazing location right on Salamanca. There are a ton of restaurants and places to shop within walking distance. THE BED!! One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! The bathroom, specifically the shower, was huge! The AC and wifi both worked well. There is an elevator and some stairs for those that like to get their steps in. There is a main door that opens right onto Salamanca, which was super convenient. There was a window but it didn't look outside. We didn't spend much time in the room, so this wasn't an issue for us.

I wish there had been a door on the shower or the wand was in a different location instead of directly across from the opening because I ended up getting water all over the floor. Parking was tough. They have paid parking but its a walk away and they only have a certain amount of spots. There is street parking but most of it is only about 2 hours, so you either have to move your spot ever 2 hours or you have to time it so you park when it's free (between 6pm and 8am).

The location was amazing, the room was so quiet - a band was playing downstairs yet we couldn’t hear a thing! Everything was just presented and finished so beautifully. Although we didn’t use the minibar, the selection was exactly what we would choose and very reasonably priced.

The green light on the panel next to the door lit up the sleeping area when all the lights were off and some sort of night light in the bathroom would have been helpful as it was pitch black with the lights off. If the green light panel was down opposite the bathroom - that would have been perfect!

Location at Salamanca was excellent with restaurants such as Maldini's almost next door plus great pubs and the markets on Saturday are not to be missed. We shared our dollars and had breakfast out. Tasmania, including Hobart are amazing. So much to experience and places to visit and all within 300klms. We have been to Tassy three times now and will be returning.

Liked the total experience, the people the cities, the towns and most of all the West Coast wilderness forests. Just an amazing holiday experience.

It is an historic building with large comfortable rooms right in the midst of Salamanca and the docks. It is a short stroll to the city centre.

An in-house continental breakfast delivery option would enhance the stay on those mornings you don't wish to go out into the weather early to forage. The cleaning team were very unpredictable in the times they arrived and not always in the set hours.

Incredible location, right in the heart of the City. A great space to explore local bars and restaurants from, and right on the Salamanca market road if youre staying for a saturday morning. Would highly recommend, a lovely boutique stay for a couple. They knew it was our anniversary and left a lovely postcard in the room on arrival which was a nice touch.

We kept having to ask for an extra towel as they only left 1 towel for 2 people. There was also no parking available.

Great bathroom, very comfortable bed. Good movie selection on tv and cute Apple left for us instead of a choccie on the pillow type thing. Literally step out of hotel onto Salamanca markets… Close to great food 2 min walk - and an amazing grocery store - close to Banjo bakery for a Scallop pie

Parking was not onsite - close only a 5 min walk but $20 per night for that inconvenience. Two separate buildings close by but confusing. Had view of a concrete wall out our window - not pleasant but tolerable
