The room is good and comfy. Bed is soft, the blanket is thick. Walking distance to the weekend market and Woolworth. The heater is working but the air is mainly felt at the bunk bed area. So it can be warm depending on the temperature. They allowed late check out without extra charges which is good.

No lift so you need to carry your own luggage up. Room size was just enough but a bit tight if you have big luggage. The kitchen is small as reviewed by others. Not much space to dine or cook when it is crowded. Would need to check on timing when using it. Laundry also only has one washer and dryer that is working. Hopefully they will expand bigger with more space coz it's very nice place to stay.

I enjoyed my stay at YHA Hobart. The staff were friendly during check in and helped with my luggage which was delivered later on. The location was perfect, everything was a 5-10 min walk away. Close to the Skybus from the airport so very easy to get to, and close to the water for organising day trips. The room was small but clean. It did get hot at night (I was there during some of the hot days) but it was manageable. There were plenty of bathrooms and the showers we're very powerful.

The hostel probably wasn't as social as others I have stayed in (probably due to small social areas) but I was happy to be out and about most of the time so just needed a place to get my head down.

Good location for the city centre as well as the waters edge. Cleaning of the kitchen was done regularly, and we were asked several times if we needed anything in our room from the cleaners. They were very helpful. Our view was good and the bed was very comfy.

Very small with the washing facilities not being very good - there was nowhere near enough machines for the number of people that wanted their stuff washing. The kitchen was tiny and found it very hard to cook due to there being a lot of people in there.

Excellent location, you can't have it better in Hobart. Hostel is clean and you can tell staff is on top of it. I like YHA always have activities to do. Unfortunately couldn't catch up with the platypus walk, but it was nice to see the initiative.

Kitchen size is too small for such big hostel, only one stove, a few kitchenware and not enough places to sit. I felt I needed to avoid when ive heard too many voices there. A few fellow backpackers mentioned they felt extra sluggish to cook in a tiny room. Lounge room at third floor is too small and uncomfortable, can't really stay there to read or whatsoever. They do need improvement at the communal spaces.

The location was really perfect, never more than 10 minutes walk to see anything on the centre and only a few minutes from the skybus stop or hop on/hop off stop. Nice pub and bakery nearby and right near the park where there's a Friday night market. Beds had individual lights but no curtains so didn't really use them. There was good hanging places in the room for your stuff. There was a small lounge but not a hugely social hostel, people seemed to use the lounge to work in

Kitchen was quite small so you had to choose your moment to use it and eat quickly to get out if others way. The was no lift so it's a workout getting your bags up and down several flights of stairs

I was satisfied enough to recommend YHA to others. 1. The location of the accommodation is the best - Convenient for going to and from the airport as it is close to Sky Bus Stop 1 - Close to the travel center where you can join local travel agencies. - Very close to the city market 2. There are many delicious restaurants and cafes nearby. 3. The bathroom room is clean and becomes a private space. 4. Good for reading a book in the lounge room on the 3rd floor. 5. The staff is kind and provides good guidance. 6. I can safely leave my luggage on the day I leave.

It would be nice if the dishes in the kitchen were replaced with new ones.

Good location, helpful staff, the room was clean, but there was some problem with the water leakage in the bathroom, I think they have already fixed it.

No curtains on the beds, otherwise I have no problem with this hostel. Unfortunately there were some people in the room talking out loud and packing their luggage with using the main light after 10pm, ignoring that the rest of us wanted to sleep. But that's about guests and it will probably be always problem in the dorms.

The TV room was really nice and there were several smaller rooms rather than just one big common area, which meant you could always find a quiet spot to call family / read a book / do some admin. I also appreciated the fact there were multiple bathrooms with a shower, loo, mirror and hairdryer, rather than having to go into a shower block or toilet block like most hostels. The bedrooms were also very comfortable and carpeted which gave the hostel a very homely vibe. It's very central and the staff were lovely so I'd recommend to others!

The one major drawback for me was the fact the kitchen only had one hob which meant I'd quite often find myself having to wait and have some very late dinners because there was just no available facilities to use.

This room was amazing! While it was in a hostel it felt just like a regular hotel room but then a lot cheaper. I had just travelled a week in hostels and needed my own space and this was great. Clean room, pretty big as well and with a nice ensuite bathroom. The location was great and there was a kitchen downstairs, but I did not use it.

The only thing I did not like was, that I was on the third floor. I had a heavy suitcase so it was quite a workout to get it up to the room since there were no elevators.

The staff at Hobart YHA are incredibly kind and helpful (especially Dean the manager and Dylan the receptionist). The hostel has a great community feel due to the activities they offer such as pizza night Tuesdays and platypus walk Wednesdays. The facilities are always really clean and the rooms are up to a high standard!
