While our stay began on a challenging note, it gradually turned into a genuinely enjoyable experience. One of the highlights was the incredibly welcoming and accommodating staff, who went out of their way to make us feel at home. A particularly memorable moment was when a staff member who had served us at the bar earlier in our stay recognised us at breakfast and greeted us warmly each morning, a simple but thoughtful gesture that really made us feel valued as guests. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day, and it made such a difference coming back to a fresh, tidy space after long days out exploring the sights of Hobart. It was clear that attention to detail mattered to the housekeeping team, and that helped us feel relaxed and well looked after. The breakfast service noticeably improved as the week went on, with the atmosphere becoming much calmer and more pleasant compared to the initial chaos of the weekend.

Unfortunately, the first day of our stay was far from ideal. The breakfast area was extremely crowded, and the environment was stressful, with guests pushing and shoving to access food. The setup clearly wasn’t equipped to manage the high number of people staying over the weekend, which led to a very uncomfortable experience. Another disappointment was the pool, which was advertised as heated but turned out to be uncomfortably cold. On top of that, the other guests using the pool were quite inconsiderate, making it difficult to enjoy the space.

We really enjoyed our stay at the DoubleTree Hotel in Hobart. From the moment we arrived, Sam welcomed us with a warm smile and made sure we settled in comfortably. We even received a thoughtful text checking that everything was okay with our room, which was a nice touch. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and in a fantastic central location—everything is within walking distance, from shops to restaurants. We dined in the restaurant for the Le Petit Chef experience, which was great fun. The hotel also has a swimming pool, which is an added bonus. Overall, our stay was everything we had hoped for—we only wish we could have stayed longer!

The bed was super comfy. Good size TV on the wall. Would however have expected a smart TV that we could sign into our own streaming services much easier. Shower was great. Overall, no complaints about the room or the service. The warm cookies upon arrival was a nice touch, as was the text messages after arrival. Pool area was nice, but we didnt end up swimming, as there were quite a few people there and no chairs or areas left to leave or things. We were also disappointed there was no spa - would have preferred this rather than a sauna.

As listed above. Didnt detract from the stay, but would have elevated the stay to an even better experience.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton in Hobart during our holiday to Tasmania! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were all so friendly and accommodating. The check-in process was smooth, the room was clean and well-appointed, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. We really appreciated their thoughtfulness, especially as a family with kids. The kitchen team deserves a special mention—they truly went above and beyond to meet our vegetarian dietary needs. Not only were they attentive to our requests, but they also created delicious, specially prepared meals for us throughout our stay. I highly recommend DoubleTree by Hilton, Hobart to anyone looking for exceptional service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a truly great experience—especially for families!

The water temperature at the Swimming pool was a bit too cold and the toilets at the poolside were probably not attended regularly. I had to call twice myself to report a dirty toilet.

Everything was absolutely incredible! From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and memorable experience. They were genuinely welcoming, attentive, and always happy to assist with any requests we had. The rooms were spotless and beautifully maintained, with every detail thoughtfully considered to make our stay perfect. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable, which made us feel even more relaxed and at ease. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay! The variety was outstanding, with fresh and delicious options catering to all tastes.

I think the cookies weren’t as tasty as we thought it would be when we checked in! But the gesture is so sweet and thoughtful

Loved the swimming pool and the sauna.

Breakfast Experience: The breakfast experience wasn't ideal. A female staff member at the "eggs serving area" shocked me when she checked the poached eggs I had ordered by pressing them with her bare fingers to check if they were cooked properly, and then placed the eggs back on the plate using the same fingers. She had just come from the inside area, and I could only guess what she might have touched there with the same hands. There were also long queues for breakfast and a lengthy wait for the coffee machine. Dinner option in the hotel: very limited options in the menu and quite costly. Gym: The gym is very basic and poorly equipped. For example, the bike wasn't even connected to electricity. It would also be helpful if the gym stayed open later than 9 PM.

Breakfast was yummy. A bit expensive but I know you have to recoup your cost. When kids only eat a small amount even $20 is alot. I definitely wouldn't have eaten $39 worth, and even my husband who is a big eater only ate that much to get his money's worth! I work in waste management and food waste is Australia's biggest contributor to carbon emissions. By charging so much, people tend to load their plate up, eat what they can, then go back for more of something else, just to get their money's worth. You might want to reassess the economics around how much food is wasted versus eaten and if this is contributing to the high charge. By charging less guests may feel less inclined to eat/load their plate so much. You will always have people who abuse the buffet option but on the whole, I think you would have more repeat service if the prices were lower. We would have come back the second day if so.

Pillows were too high. Room quite small for a family of four.

Very modern, quiet, perfect location, pool to entertain the kids in, very clean, perfect for underground parking. If you check in early enough you’ll be guaranteed secure underground parking for $35 a night. Lifts were super quick without any delay. Will definitely stay again.

The only downside were the pillows in the room. They were hard and very high. We had to have our children sleep without pillows as their little necks were aching just from watching tv in bed. The pool was too cold. We were told it was set at 26° but it was more like 18°.

Location was good. New property, nice bar for drinks. Comfy bed.

Bathroom amenities. Fan barely worked, poor suction so everything got wet (toiletries, makeup bag etc). Even after maintenance checked and said working perfectly, obviously just a bad choice in product. Bathroom stayed wet for ages. Shower screen also needs to be bigger to stop water issue. Pool area is lovely but only one bathroom each for M/F meant the afternoon we went to the pool which started off with just us and another couple and their child soon became 18 people with not enough seating or change/toilet facilities. Also used by gym and sauna.

The warm cookies that were given to us on arrival as my daughter ate mine and couldn't stop telling me how "AmAzInG" they were. My daughter and granddaughter enjoyed a dip in the pool that changed colours 😍 and warmed up in the Sauna ... pity the gym wasn't full of hot guys for nannas viewing pleasure, but......hey, you win some, you lose some. The bathroom facilities were great with the 2 shower head options. Access to bathrobes was a bonus as my daughter didn't pack for a pool and needed to do a sneak with the underwear for a dip ... much more discreet.
