I stayed at Bergland Hotel from 21.10. to 25.10., so I've spent 5 days/4 nights there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, upon check-in I received a map of Salzburg and a list of the best local restaurants/cafés, my room was equipped with a fridge and an electric kettle - with complementary tea ( 2 teabags + portions of sugar, replaced every day by cleanup staff :) ) The hotel itself is really pleasant and cozy, equipped with an elevator too. For 14€/day one could also receive breakfast there. The location was perfect, just a corner away there's a Billa store, all the major attractions are within a 15-20 min. walk, there are also 2 bus stops in close vicinity. I would 100% recommend it for anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Salzburg.

This is a small boutique hotel close to the pedestrian area of Salzburg but far enough away that it is quiet. It is a 15' walk to the central core but well served by public transport: bus stops are a 3' walk away and buses arrive every 5-7'. All rooms, even the standard rooms, are large with soundproofed windows. The owners are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just OK but there are other options nearby.

The only issue was summer heat, and it is why I did not rate it higher. I arrived during a heat wave. The fans provided were not adequate to keep one cool at night, and keeping the windows partly open did not help much. Better and stronger fans would be an inexpensive and efficient solution to this problem.

Excellent value. Very friendly helpful staff. Family oriented. Great rooms. Very comfortable beds. Perfect for a family tourist stay. They communicated with us prior to arrival about some building work, which was finished on our day of arrival and was not a problem Slightly older decor, but not dirty or unpleasant. Nice artworks (I suspect owner derived) adorn the rooms and corridors. The location is easy to get to from central train station. It is also easy to walk or get public transport to the city center.

Nothing really.

The communication with the owners and interaction with the staff has been exemplary - all questions answered, all requests taken care of, in a timely, professional (and friendly) fashion. I have to praise Alfredo (at the front desk) for going further than the extra mile: answering a lot of questions, providing tips and insights on all sorts of matters (maps, routes, prices, tourist attractions, eating spots) and always helping out with any special request - up to the last moment. All of these made me feel welcome, like staying at a friend's place - something I find quite rare in the hospitality business. The stay at the Bergland contributed greatly to my experience in Salzburg and I will most likely visit again.

Not a deal breaker, but a pair of complimentary slippers would have been appreciated.

We had a pleasant stay at the Bergland Hotel in Salzburg. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The private parking (available for a fee) was very convenient. Our room was charming and spacious, but it could use a bit of maintenance—some small fixes here and there would make it perfect. Nonetheless, it was clean and comfortable. The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the city center, and the area is surrounded by lovely restaurants, making it easy to enjoy the local cuisine. Overall, a great choice for its friendly atmosphere and convenient location!

This accommodation definitely exceeded my expectations! The single room was just lovely; very clean and spacious with a very well-sized bathroom. The staff was so lovely and the breakfast had many healthy options, which was definitely a bonus compared to the more standard options we usually encounter in hotels. I loved my room so much, that I found it hard to say goodbye towards the end of my stay. Location-wise, it is situated very close to the centre (roughly 10 minutes away) but it is so much more quiet, which was an advantage. I will definitely stay here again when I re-visit Salzburg! To all the staff at Bergland Hotel; you are all doing an amazing job, thank you for the quality and level of hospitality you are offering!

When we checked in, the lady staff was very friendly and told us lots of useful information about walking around Salzburg. She recommend the restaurant near by and it was excellent! The bed room and bathroom are quite big! Hot shower was very nice! We liked to use the bathrobe. All the rooms are very clean and warm. Wifi is good. Quiet environment and we can open the window to get fresh air.

Nothing much. Maybe breakfast. We didn't take it because we are told it's vegetarian breakfast. If normal breakfast, we can take.

The location was great for us, about a 15 min walk into the old town. The hotel was clean and the room was a great size. Staff were polite and helpful and you can buy the Salzburg Card from reception. They have an honesty bar which was really convenient. We didn't have breakfast because we read it was overpriced for what it was but their was a fridge in the room so we bought some yoghurts etc. Really nice touch having the fluffy robes in the room.

The parking was very expensive, €14 a night seems very steep to me.

It's the best hotel I ever stayed in in Salzburg. Everything is within walking distance and the owners have personalized recommendations of restaurants we tried, they were excellent. The hotel is amazing, the art is beautiful, the furniture is so suitable. The staff is very very helpful. Breakfast is excellent. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are beautiful. The little terrace is great to relax when the sun is out. I would always stay in this hotel again and will definitely come back. They are highly recommended!

The room was of a reasonable size with a good size bathroom and a decent bed. Other features included a small fridge, Tv , wifi, room safe , hair dryer and tower fan. A vegetarian continental breakfast is available for 12 euros, which I didn't opt for. The hotel is located about a ten minute walk from the the train station and about a 15 minute walk from the old town. There are plenty of dining options nearby along with supermarkets/ shopping. This is a family run facility and they are pretty upfront with the fact they are not offering 5 star comfort of the bigger chains just value for money. Throughout the hotel there is a lot of artwork from one of the family members which looks amazing.

Because of the time of the year I visited(Summer) it was a bit warm and humid, since there is no Airconditioning( quite common in central/northern Europe) you need to have the windows open , as you are located near a main road and there is a large hotel/beer garden down the road you may get a bit of noise from traffic/ patrons later in the evening especially Friday / Saturday nights.
