We loved this location because it wasn't in the middle of the old-town city center area but was very walkable to it. It is right next to a pedestrian-only (for the most part) road with many shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. The included breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely dining room. Our rooms were very comfortable and included blackout shades for the skylights which were a huge help during the morning sunlight. We rented e-bikes for 1/2 a day which was a very fun way to explore the city. The rate was a little expensive but we had a great time and they made it so easy for us. We can't wait to return to Salzburg and would absolutely stay at the Altstadthotel Wolf-Dietrich again.

Unfortunately the hotel's primary elevator was broken during our entire stay so we had to walk up and down the 95 steps to our 4th floor rooms. Despite the inconvenience, we enjoyed our rooms on the top floor and the hotel staff were extremely helpful in getting our luggage up to the rooms at the beginning of our trip.

The staff was very friendly and approachable, the hotel was very clean and they were cleaning the room on a daily basis, the bar had great coffee. Personal hygiene items were all made from natural substances and they smelled really good. The location is great and close to everything by walking distance. Thanks for uppgrading our room with one with a balcony, we loved that

PLEASE OH PLEASE get some new pillows, they are AWFULL!!! Wery uncomfortable, very flat, we asked for 2 extra and still couldn't sleep well... Other than that we have no other complaints

Well located double-story room which was a nice overall stay in Salzburg. The service was kind and helpful. The room had two levels and was quite spacious for an old town hotel. The fold-out sofa was not ideal but this is common when accommodating four people. The breakfast had a nice range of food but was not as good as many other similar priced hotels throughout Europe. For a nice traditional Austrian meal, eat at the nearby Alter Fuchs. Overall, a nice, comfortable and convenient stay. I would revisit again.

Not a major concern but the room is need of a slight upgrade. The bathrooms were fine but feel like they are a little dated. Then again, most old town hotels have a similar issue.

This was a superb hotel. Great value, the facilities were excellent Staff were all helpful and friendly, evening arranging a birthday breakfast for my partner. Location was a 10 minute walk from the main old town which is across the river. This area is still historic however with lots of shops - my partner was delighted our room overlooked the grave of Mozart's father and wife! All in all we had a great time in Salzburg and a lot of this was down to the hotel. Overall highly recommended.

Scored slightly lower on comfort due a slight back ache from the bed, however this was more a me than a hotel thing.

We loved that the hotel was so central and close to everything. Also a great choice of food for the breakfast and we also liked the fact that breakfast hours were so flexible at this hotel. We liked the format of our mezzanine family room (in the building across the street from reception): even with the couch converted as a bed on the lower floor, there were still other seats to use in that room (much appreciated since often missing in similar family rooms/ suites setups). Politeness and can-do attitude of the staff is remarkable at Wolf-Dietrich Altstadt hotel!

This is a super hotel. We stayed two nights. Our room (Double in Residence Annex) was superb. Very spacious with a lovely view over a very large green square - a garden area that was shared with other residences. It was so quiet except for the blackbird's sweet song. Wonderful.  The bed was very comfortable, the room was spotless, as was the large bathroom.  Breakfast was amazing. Location was perfect... 10/15 mins from all the sights and transport. Lots of good bars and restaurants close by. Staff were great too. Salzburg is such a lovely city. Recommended highly.

Room needs a refresh especially bathroom - toilet way to close to wall (couldn't fit left leg there) and shower stall a tad too small. Larger North Americans would have great difficulty in this bathroom. I know it is Europe but for the price paid and some of the pictures I would expect a better bathroom - but this is minor as the hotel was very quiet and great location. There were also no English channels so tv couldn't really be used (only CNN but that didn't always have reception for some reason).

We had the lovely stay at the Wolf Dietrich. The staff not only met, but anticipated our needs and exceeded out expectations. Perfect spot to walk anywhere in the pedestrian district and the city. We walked all the way to the fortess. The Spa was clean and very enjoyable. Reception and bar was open 24 hrs for whatever we needed. They helped us store our ski equipment from the previous leg of our trip and called taxis that could accommodate everything! We would highly recommend staying here.

It is a short walk to old town (~10 mins) and Mirabell Garden which was very convenient. The facilities were great! Pool, sauna, steam room and quiet spaces in the spa were clean and very relaxing. They offered lockers, towels and water in the spa as well. If you wanted, you could also book a massage. The room had everything I needed and was clean and comfortable. Having a window that opened allowed fresh air however, if opening over night keep in my the church bells start very early. Everything at this hotel was great! Highly recommend!

This hotel is a first class act. Small, convenient, excellent location, AMAZING staff.

One quibble regarding all austrian hotels experienced: i realize english speakers are questionable but, face it, friends - we're the majority. Even chinese and japanese tourists will probably communicate with u in english. Not being an anglo myself it really angers me that apart from news no english tv channels smart tv with utube or mirroring the exception. Give us a break - after a long day paying exorbitant prices 2 b entertained i do NOT want to watch big bang in german. I would even suggest a boycott until this is rectified.
