The staff were helpful and the place is well kept and very clean. Breakfast was always fresh with plenty of options. Just ask for a boiled egg and it arrives withing minutes while you make toast. I would stay here again because of the price, the host, the breakfast, and the fairly central location.

This hotel us up a fairly steep street about a 7 minute walk from the bus stop. We sometimes took taxis to save time an having to walk up that street at the end of a busy day. But don't let that stop you from enjoying the hospitality of this family run establishment.

Amazing view from the window to the mountain and the forest, the room was big with terrace, kitchen and washing machine.

Getting to the property from public transportation isn’t very nice - it’s 10 minutes of walking up the hill - I don’t recommend to do it with heavy bags or luggage - I took a taxi. There is no drying machine so after washing I put the clothes on the drying rack provided by the owners of the property, also the every use of washing machine costs 20 euro. There were no bathtub as per description here in booking there is. There is also no safety box but you can see that in the description in the booking also I felt that my things were pretty safe there without safety box

Beautiful surroundings and a real homely feel. The outdoor terrace was wonderful for eating breakfast with exceptional mountain views. The property is tucked away and surrounding area is very quiet yet is only a 15 minute walk to the city centre. The walk down to town is very pleasant especially walking along with the riverside. The hill is steep though so we used taxis to return - which were cheap and very reasonable. Parking was good and the breakfast was lovely - a real family feel to the place with Kira being very attentive too! The rooms were large, very clean and comfortable with everything you could need.

Nothing - all very good and reasonably priced

Very spacious room. Excellent location near the old town but far enough away to stay quiet and peaceful. Friendly and informative staff. Excellent breakfast.

It has already been mentioned that the rooms have no air conditioning. We knew this going in, and between the fan they provided and the windows open at night it was tolerable, but we are used to extreme heat conditions. They are doing the best they can with the options they have available, just know that if you are there during a heat wave it is best to spend time at the public pool just down the street!

Staff was very pleasant, breakfast was great. Room was large and pleasant.

No elevator to transport luggage, only minor inconvenience. No AC but most nights were cool enough so not too bad. Construction directly across from room windows. We were awakened earlier than expected with the noise. Without AC, windows had to be left open so no way of reducing noice. Not the fault of the hotel just an inconvenience to be right outside of our window.

The thing we liked best was the spectacular view in the morning from the conservatory like breakfast room with the arrival of some snow being the icing on the cake!! The hotel was outside the centre itself in a quiet and tranquil location. The walk to the iconic tourist points was only 15-20 minutes though through picturesque cobbled back streets of beautiful buildings, both old and new, and a walk across the river on the Mozart bridge. We loved the small family owned nature of the hotel and Gabrielle and her staff made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was wonderful with plenty to choose from so we were able to "stock up" before our walks into the centre. We will come back sometime in the future during the Summer months and enjoy the lovely outdoor scenery which the hotel has to offer.

Nothing of importance to note as it was all very enjoyable.

-Breathtaking views on the mountains -Lovely and quiet district 10 to 15 minutes on foot from the old town -Wonderful bathtub -The apartment is a designer‘s dream, minimalist, bright and elegant.

A minimalist design can be lacking in some comfort and practicality. Small additions could make a big improvement: placing cushions on the super hard chairs, offering more than 3 clothes hangers per person, adding hooks in the bathroom, and, in the kitchen, providing some large mugs, bowls, a dish for the microwave, and a dish rack next to the sink…. These are only details. Haus Arenberg is a gem!

Cozy family guesthouse located conveniently in walking distance to the Salzburg Old Town. The parking spot is available right in front of the guesthouse. The rooms are well fitted. There's a small garden with an outdoor lounge, nice for breakfast. We accidentally booked 2 beds for 3 people :( but the owner Gabi sorted everything out in a moment to our satisfaction - big thanks!

The breakfast (pastry) would deserve a small improvement... but I believe weekday is much better than Sunday (we stayed only for 1 night).

The hotel was not as expected considering the price we paid. Breakfast was continental so not much of a selection, nice breakfast room. The junior suite was spacious and good for a family. The Kitchen was useful. Nice balcony but the view overlooks bungalows. The owner was pleasant but not over friendly but daniela was really lovely and so helpful..

The climb up the hill to the hotel if walking. The hotel itself does not look quite as pretty as the images from booking.com also the garden is smaller. The hotel is not too far from salzburg and you can catch a number 6 or 10 bus right into salzburg and are pretty regular if not using a car

Our family stayed in the Hotel Haus Arenberg for a week. The hosts are very nice and kind people. The hotel is beautifully refurbished with clean, white and wooden modern uncluttered design I loved. This is how I would finish my apartment if it were up to me. We got a "suite" - an apartment with a kitchenette and a balcony that has a stunning view of the Alps. It was pleasantly spacious for the three of us, as opposed to a hotel room we normally book which then feels cramped. Here we had no problem whatsoever to put our big open suitcases on the floor and they still weren't in the way. And the price was the same as for a room elsewhere, that is why we chose this hotel. Also, the location very close to the city centre was our top reason to choose this hotel. I personally don't like hotel carpets as they are next to impossible to keep clean and free from allergens; here you have clean, new vinyl wooden-like flooring. This hotel apartment was the nicest I have stayed in in my 50 years of life. (I also appreciated the mosquito screens in the windows so you can open the windows without risking any insects flying in.). I fully recommend booking the breakfasts buffet too as you will be empowered for the day and can have lunch or dinner later in the town or so.

We had the perfect weather. Sunny but not hot. I suppose 95 % of the time of the year the following would NOT be an issue, but should there be a heatwave, it would probably be uncomfortable a bit that there is no AC. (For wintertime there are heaters.) On the other hand, the silence thanks to the lack of the AC, and the clean air outside the windows are marvellous.
