Great location and great staff!! Marie was a wonderful host.

Property has no air conditioning. Fans worked okay, but atmosphere was very humid due to unusual amount of rain. Minor issue with street noise since our window faced major pedestrian walkway. Also, road construction just outside so jack-hammering beginning 8:00 on several mornings.

First and foremost, the staff is excellent. Friendly, helpful, smiling. They make you feel like it is a pleasure to help you with your request. The room was very clean. It was also very nice from esthetic point of view.

Despite all my praise listed above, I am not staying here again. You would have to be a little deaf to enjoy your stay. The elevator engine is quite loud and I could hear it in my room every time someone used the elevator (the sound was as if someone in the next room turned on a loud vacuum cleaner). Also, the sound insulation between mine and the next room was poor in the bathroom area. I didn't enjoy having a good idea about my neighbors' encounters with the toilet. And I didn't enjoy hearing their morning spit into the wash basin either.

The staff were lovely and friendly, always happy to answer questions or show you something on their maps. The property itself is in a great location, very easy to access all parts of Salzburg from here and to arrive via public transport, it is an easy bus ride from the Train station to almost the front of the hotel. The room was lovely, just as shown in photos and enough room for a single traveller.

The bed was really really bad, there was a huge dip in the centre which made it really uncomfortable to sleep in, and in such a spot and large enough that I couldn't try to sleep around it unfortunately.

If you’re looking for a basic hotel in a great location for a decent price, this hotel fits the bill. The beds are comfortable, bathroom serviceable and clean. We are a family of 4, and every other hotel I viewed was 2x what we paid here because we would have had to have gotten 2 rooms - this hotel had a two-bedroom which made it much more affordable. The location was PERFECT - walkable to everything we wanted to see and do in Salzburg. We did not have the breakfast as it was expensive (25 euros per person) but it looked nice and the staff graciously gave us coffees and juices to go. One other note - pay close attention to the directions for arrival - the hotel is on the old town and you have to park in a deck nearby. If you have a lot of bags, you can drive up for a short period but it’s a little complicated. Overall a good experience.

Note before booking that this hotel does NOT have air conditioning. Fortunately it was not crazy hot when we were there and the hotel provided fans in both rooms. The second issue was that the ceilings and walkways were very low. My husband is 6’4” and hit his head or had to duck more times that I can count. Probably not a problem for people are aren’t tall.

We were upgraded to a quadruple room that looked directly out onto the lovely street. Horse -drawn carriages walked by below and the old town was literally at our doorstep. We were there four rainy days as the festival was being set up, and the staff was very helpful at guiding us, speaking English and using the map to point out directions. We loved the size of our room for two people. We ended up spending quite a bit of time there, and very comfortable and cozy.

Perhaps a map of just the Alstadt section blown up larger so that it was easy to see and navigate would be helpful. The area is delightfully maze like, and the setup of the festival made it even more challenging to make our way around although we did.

The superior quadruple room was excellent for our family of 4, with a separate internal room for the kids to share. There was sufficient space for all of our luggage and enough storage for our clothes. The bathroom was modern and well appointed, with great hot water, albeit a little tight. The breakfast (which we opted to include) was fantastic, with gluten free bread provided on request. The dining room waitress was super friendly, and provided great coffee and hot breakfast options. The front desk staff were also all friendly and provided invaluable advice and assistance. The location of the hotel is unbeatable and ideal for accessing the Christmas markets.

The room did not have fridge and as I travel with medication that requires refrigeration, this was a disappointment. The outstanding staff assisted by letting me store my medicine in one of the big hotel fridges and I was able to access it whenever I needed to, but a fridge in the room would have been preferred. The layout of the rooms did not allow for space to all sit together.

The property is in a very convenient, central location yet on a quiet road. The staff was wonderful during the booking process as well as during our stay.

We were in room no 27 which was right by the elevator. This can happen and but the sound proofing was so little, that we heard every move of the elevator. Not only ppl getting on and off but the literal sound of the elevator cables moving up and down. We are not super early risers and also jet lag took its toll, and I still would have appreciated getting a good nights sleep. The elevator is in use from 5am in the morning. We let the staff know, however they were fully booked. Since we only stayed 2 nights we just rolled with it.

Central, in a quiet street. Room size ok, nice modern bathroom with walking shower. Clever wardrobe. Nicely modernised old building.

That they only offered a large buffet breakfast. We went out for smaller options in the neighbourhood. The mus cafe in tge Mozart Square we enjoyed a lot. That you cannot regulate heating. We needed to open bathroom window to cool room gfor the night.

Excellent location right by Mozartplatz and only a 15 minute walk from the main buses on Mirabellplatz by the gardens for most bus connections, local and regional. Many buses drop off close by as there is a stop by the platz and bridge to the hotel. It was 10 minute bus ride from the central railway station and less than 5 minute walk to the river for evening stroll. The staff spoke perfect English which helped as I only have a spattering of German phrases. Easy to check in and out and the building is beautiful. There is a lift to access the floors and the room was a good size, very quiet at night and the bed was comfortable with good linen - most comfortable I've slept in! There were some nice touches such as free toiletries and the coffee/tea was topped up each day even when I had hung the no cleaning sign out on the door. It was rather warm when I stayed but there was a fantastic fan in the room which cooled me down. Spotlessly clean when I arrived and excellent wi fi which was easy to connect to. Breakfast was very good, plenty of options and attentive staff.

The pillows! Seems to be an Austrian thing as it was the same in Vienna - very thin but easily resolved by folding in two and putting a folded towel underneath for extra height. If I'd thought about it I could have asked for another but it wasn't a big problem.

Excellent location, right in the old town area. Superb for the Christmas markets. Friendly and helpful staff. Great large room for us as a family (2 adults and 1 ten year old). Lovely to know be in an historic building. Loads of storage in the room for belongings. Room well thought through in terms of shelving and plug sockets. Comfortable beds.

Not really a 4 star hotel in terms of facilities (no bar, no restaurant outside of breakfast). However, the locations offsets this and brings its value back up. Slightly tired looking in places.
