Great location in the centre of the old town within easy walking distance of the main sights and plenty of restaurants. Staff were all so helpful & friendly and we LOVED the coffee shop for daily cake & coffee after a day out in the snow. Really nice buffet breakfast and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the river.

I haven't marked the hotel down for this but over the weekend 2 nights we could hear music playing until about 4 a.m. ( this wasn't loud but we are light sleepers and it was just enough to affect our sleep) No other reviews seem to mention this so it may have been proximity of our room (306) - which was otherwise lovely - to a music venue somewhere local. The hotel staff were very apologetic but could not fathom out where noise would be coming from. We did not request a room change as we were coming home. This is a lovely hotel & we would stay again ( but take our white noise player!)

Our room had a nice bed, very bice bathroom with badet, air conditioning, and an in room coffee machine. We enjoyed the location and we had a view of the castle from our room. Every morning our breakfast came with a view of the Salzach river. So if you are considering breakfast be sure to book it! It's worth the money. Breakfast has fresh waffles, eggs, meats, vegetables and dips, freshly made breads, cakes, the best selections of coffees, and mimosas and much more! Even fresh honey from the bee hive still in the frame. The staff were very kind and carried our luggage to our room as we arrived. At the end of a long day of walking around they even had mint infused water at the desk for a refreshing drink. The hotel offers a dinner option which is good if you like to eat late because many restaurants close early as do the shops. Be sure to get online for the Salzburg card if you are considering going to visit the museums. It will pay for itself.

The breakfast was really good with lots of options and friendly staff. The room was comfortable. The location was very central and had a river view.

Overall we thought the value for money was not worth it (to expensive) compared to other accommodations in the area. When I booked it said the parking was 20 EUR, even in the information I received pre arrival it said this. but it ended up being 38 EUR per day. I get it was a public lot they don't control the price of, but providing the miss-information started us off poorly and the reception people were a little rude when we asked if they had an agreement with the lot for the lower price (since they sent us this price in the pre-arrival instructions)- answer is no they don't, which is fine, but don't be rude about it. The only other thing that was negative to the stay was the AC was not great.

We had a superior double room that looked out over the cobble streets of the Altstadt. The room itself was quiet, huge and had excellent air conditioning - just as well as we were there during a heatwave - the bed and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. The hotel was in the best location possible. Mozartplatz was just around the corner and it was - 5 mins walk from the cathedral and Getreidegasse and 7 mins to the funicular to the Festung. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't try it (it seemed rather expensive) but there were two excellent options on Mozart Platz (Cafe Glockenspiel and MUS Cafe), as well as a good breakfast served at the Tomasselli cafe (Oldest cafe in Salzburg) on the Alter Markt.

This not not impact the enjoyment of our stay but a point worth noting is that there were no English language channels other than news channels, and as the TV was rather old, there was no possibility to connect up access to any streaming services via Chromecast or Firestick.

Location is unbelievable. In the middle of the old town, yet very quiet. The walls seemed very thick (old style) and the windows were triple glazed. Even though we could look out the window to a busy pedestrian zone, it was absolutely silent in the room.

Older style bathroom, but we didn't care, we knew it was an old building and the location more than made up for it. It's not great for people with mobility needs. A lot of steps from the car to reception, although we were offered the staff/goods lift with the stroller, it wasn't the easiest way in. The bar area was too quiet but I just went elsewhere for conviviality. Otherwise nothing to fault.

Hotel was right in the heart of the old town, within easy walking distance of many of the attractions of Salzburg. plenty of restaurants and bars nearby providing plenty of choice. The hotel was situated along side the river. It was right in the heart of the Salzburg festival activities.

Unfortunately, we arrived during the Salzburg festival (which we knew nothing about when we booked). The problem was that the festival closed off most of the access roads around the hotel and the old town. On the night we arrived by train and took a taxi from the central station (less that 4km (2.5 miles) away), and what should have been a short transfer and small taxi fare took almost 30 minutes and cost almost 30 euros. The hotel offered no help on this matter, neither on arrival nor when we left to go back to the train station.

Very comfortable hotel, great location, i was upgraded to lovely suite, shower and bath facilities were excellent with fluffy bathrobes, bed very comfortable with thick mattress, staff very helpful especially young man who helped me with the room when i had to stay an extra night and change room. Good spacious rooms even the standard one. Great safe and general supplies in the room and bathroom.

Not all the staff were helpful, some were a bit grumpy , the breakfast was disappointing, everyday was the same , i only noticed on the last day that you could order dishes a la carte but nit sure if you had to pay extra. Staff however were helpful. You could also hear the plumbing from the next room, annoying when it was in the middle of the night.

The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they shared great tips and suggestions about the city. The location was perfect — right in the old town, so we could walk everywhere easily. Our room was very spacious and thoughtfully arranged, even with a small work area. We really appreciated the complimentary water and little chocolates. The decoration was also lovely. The restaurant was great too — the staff were kind and attentive, and everything was fresh and high quality. We were truly very satisfied with our stay :)

There was nothing I didn’t like – everything went really well.

Great location, close to everything in old town. Beautiful room with lovely wooden beam ceilings & large arched windows, which open for fresh air. The beds are comfortable, with 2 doubles pushed together for one larger bed. Very friendly & helpful staff. Large hotel but with a small hotel feel. Bath robes were provided & were very comfortable. Coffee & tea Nepresso machine is in the room. Lovely restaurant on site with a glass atrium room with a view of the river. The building also has a rich history, which is worth reading.

At times, there was a slight/ moderate smell coming from the bidet. The cleaning staff helped resolve the issue. A long cushion in one public area near the entrance was ripped in several places & needed to be replaced. The hotel is too beautiful to have that sort of damaged item. Our room had a separate toilet room from the sinks/bath, this could be a positive or a negative.

The hotels have a great location, in the heart of the old town, close to many attractions and interesting places. The hotel itself has some nuances, it is quite old, and I don't mean its steel, a lot of things need to be repaired. But the team that works on providing services is just incredible. Everyone is very friendly and always happy to help. Special thanks to the receptionist Alisher, Gulnay from breakfast, the doorman and their manager. They are wonderful people who love what they do. They made our vacation perfect. In general, if you are not too picky, the hotel is comfortable for an overnight stay, it has everything you need.
