The old Austrian decor and charm, its proximity to the Saltzburg festival venues .

The fact that we were unable to have a meal in the hotel despite staying there as both nights were booked out during our visit . I feel that hotel guests should be given priority and if you know that a pre booking will be necessary to inform guests of this when they book accommodation ( especially those like us travelling from. Australia ) .

The room was spacious and well appointed with furnishings, outlets, and high tech lighting. The location could not have been better for the purpose of our visit, just steps away from the Mozart Week Festival House, with all the charm of a medieval neighborhood and wonderful shopping and restaurants. The included breakfast was fabulous, something for everyone, and perfectly prepared. It was a special treat in the morning, with incredibly friendly and attentive staff to wait on you.

We could not get our phone, tablet, or laptop to connect to the smart tv so that we could mirror our small screen on the big screen. Didn’t have time to share this info with reception. Maybe they could have fixed it.

Perfect location in the heart of the Old Town, the hotel is a small landmark. White plaster, walls festooned with antlers, and crafted country furniture, it’s an idealized slice of Alpine life. The staff is one of the finest in the world.

I have stayed at the Goldener Hirsch twice before, and never had reason to question the value. This time I did. The room was smaller and opened on to a gravelled air shaft. By design, there is no sense of opulence, but you find yourself comparing it to places that are opulent - given the price - and it comes up short. Emblematic, 49€ for a good-but-not-great buffet breakfast. You’re left sadly expecting more.

Centrally located hotel. We had a lovely stay. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. We were three adults that shared a Junior Suite, there was plenty of room for three of us. Great bedroom facilities including a proper coffee maker. Excellent breakfast every day and we ate dinner in the restaurant one evening which was delicisious.

Lovely suite but not in main hotel, had to cross the street from main hotel to different building, it felt more like an apartment rental not a hotel, bar and restaurant disjointed in different areas not very clearly identified, when asked staff gave a brief tour which was helpful. The building is beautiful. Room staff and bar helpful and friendly, restaurant staff less so. Food okay but over priced.

More inclusive and joined up as a hotel would normally be, maybe make it clear the suites are in a different building without any other facilities, for example a lounge.

I am a digital nomad (working in IT for a large Financial Service Organisation) who lives in Sydney, Australia who recently passed through Salzburg and stayed at the Hotel Goldener Hirsch. An amazing hotel, where noting is a problem! Due to the time difference, I started my work at 3am - using the library with great wifi. A special thank you to the night porter (Thomas) who always set up the room and gave me coffee to get me started!

We visited this gem of a property for Christmas this year!! Magical time to be in Salzburg. This hotel exceeded every expectation we had and was the best hotel we stayed in during our honeymoon. From the anticipatory service from the lovely team members (everyone was truly hospitable!) to the plush bedding & heated bathroom floors, we were in heaven during our stay. Highlight: Before the Christmas Eve dinner in the hotel, the team members (and members of their families!) sang to the guests attending dinner…it was so special, making us feel like part of the family. We truly enjoyed that touch and will never, ever forget our super special Christmas in Salzburg!!

Everything. The room, location, the staff.everything & everyone was exceptional

I had booked two nights earlier and had to cancel them. I added two nights on the end of the trip for a total of 9 nights. I was still charged $1500 for the first two nights cancelled. This was very disappointing.

The location, staff, welcoming, breakfast, cleanliness I could not praise the hotel any higher, our stay was amazing, highly recommend and will certainly recommend to my friends as the best place to stay in Salzburg Thank you

We have stayed there 3 times. Love the Gemütlichkeit of the staff and the facilities. Right on the Getreidegasse in the center of the Altstadt.
