July 2025

Everything! The room was clean, cool with aircon (the first we have seen) and the staff were exceptionally lovely. Specifically the lovely two staff members (one male and one female) working on the afternoon/evening of July 8th (Tuesday). Took very good care of us when our delivery didn’t show up and helped us contact dominos as we don’t speak the language. The bed was huge which was nice, the shower had good pressure, and it was very lovely to have a clean mid stay without having to pay extra. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone I know staying in Brussels.

Everything was Perfect

I recently stayed at the Catalonia Hotel Brussels, and I must say — it was a surprisingly charming and comfortable experience tucked away in one of the quieter yet accessible parts of the city. ✨ First Impressions: The hotel has a stylish, modern design with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The lobby was spotless and cozy, with friendly staff greeting guests with genuine smiles — always ready to help with directions, taxis, or recommendations. 🛏️ Room Comfort: My room was spacious, spotless, and surprisingly well insulated from city noise. The bed was large and incredibly comfortable — exactly what you want after a day exploring Brussels. I appreciated the small details: quality toiletries, a powerful hairdryer, good lighting, and a kettle for coffee/tea. 🍳 Breakfast & Dining: The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise: fresh pastries, Belgian waffles, cold cuts, fruits, and even some warm dishes. Everything was well stocked and freshly prepared. The staff in the dining area were attentive and kept everything clean and inviting. 📍 Location: Situated in the Saint-Gilles district, it’s only a short tram ride or a healthy walk to major spots like Avenue Louise, the EU Parliament, or even the Grand Place. There are local bakeries, shops, and cafes nearby, giving a local neighborhood vibe instead of the usual tourist chaos. 💻 Extras: Free high-speed Wi-Fi, a decent-sized desk (great if you’re working remotely), and a small fitness area if you want to stay active. Bonus points for the underground parking — very convenient if you’re renting a car or traveling by motorcycle. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It’s clean, stylish, peaceful, and feels a step above many similarly priced hotels in Brussels. Perfect for both business and leisure stays.🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Nothing to dislike.

We stayed one night at Catalonia Brussels and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and professional. The hotel is located in a quiet area and well connected to the city center by public transport. We also appreciated the option to check in online, which made arrival smooth and fast.

However, the air conditioning in the room was disappointing — it was quite noisy and didn’t cool the room effectively. This affected the overall comfort, especially during the night. With better climate control, the stay would have been excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at the Catalonia Hotel for our first visit to Brussels. The location is great with excellent transport links by tram. The hotel is situated in a quiet, safe residential area. Arrived on the Eurostar followed by a 12 minute tram ride and then a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and made us welcome. We had a premier room for 3 which was a good size and very clean. Breakfast was excellent with good choice and the gastro bar offered some varied choices in the evening. Outdoor cafe area was nice to sit in although there are lots of cafes nearby if you prefer. Only a 10 minute tram ride to the centre of Brussels where there’s lots to see. We used our debit card to tap in on the trams, about £2 a ride with a maximum of £6.70 per day which was excellent value to see everything. We enjoyed our stay very much, would be happy to recommend the Catalonia Hotel and hope to come back again.

Room a little too warm. Air con didn’t seem to make much difference. No robes or sweets which it said in the listing for this room but didn’t really matter. Gastro bar meals a little expensive.

Perfect service, friendly, helpful, professional, as you would normally expect only in a 4-star hotel. Breakfast also beyond expectation, both in variety and in freshness

The room, though very comfortable (I was upgraded), is unfortunately equipped with a bathtub, which is rather difficult for me (I am pushing 80, and I prefer a walk-in shower.) Also parking in the neighborhood is scarce. But no deal-breaker: I'll go back, next time I'm in Brussels.

This hotel was amazing very beautiful decore and the astomspher was pleasing. The staff was very accommodating when I needed information on the city. The rooms were beautiful clean and very comfortable. The walls are very solid and noise controlled. The bathroom was also amazing with a deep soaking tube and the hot water pressure was really good, The hotel is located in a really nice inviting neighborhood surrounded by nice little restaurants and trams . I would definitely recommend this hotel!

There was nothing to not like about this beautiful hotel

The Hotel was fine. Spacious room and bathroom, comfortable beds and very quiet. The breakfast was also very good with various options – I can’t say that I was expecting something that I didn’t find. I would recommend it if someone is looking for a hotel not located in the heart of the city , especially taking into consideration how expensive hotels are in Brussels in general.

If I had to say something it would be that the Hotel is somehow distant from the City Center. But there is a tram stop just 100m from the Hotel which leaves you at a 10 minutes walking distance from Grand Place and just 5 minutes from the Brussels Train Central Station. So it’s not a big issue. However if you travel to Brussels for the first time don’t attempt going to the Hotel by public transport. It’s impossible to find the closest tram station and the metro is not very helpful. Better grab a cab and it won’t cost you more than 13-15 euros.

Nice smallish hotel in (the only) trendy neighbourhood of Brussels. Plenty of great restaurants, cafes and bars within easy walking distance. Tram station 3 min walk from hotel taking you reasonably close to Grand Place (main square). Room was spacious with comfortable bed, nice bathroom and small mini bar. Staff was nice. Very good value for money. Will return once they fix WiFi.

WiFi was very slow and unreliable - there was a note apologising for ongoing maintenance, which must be a long one since the situation did not improve during my 12 days stay. The same goes for TV. Room walls are thin and the loud cleaning starts early in the morning...After 11 nights stay I have asked for 2pm late check out and was requested to pay 20 euros for that...Did not try 18 euros breakfast...City centre and European quarter are not close...

Room was lovely with the added bonus of a balcony and seating area. Complimentary items were provided, (always needed), such as tissues and shower cap etc. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast could have been better. There was an area that appeared to have cooked breakfast facilities, there indeed was scrambled egg, but nothing else that was cooked. I could see that there was uncooked bacon. No sign of a chef or indeed any sign to inform how to obtain a cooked breakfast if someone wanted one. The meat and cheese section was only just ok. Not topped up despite there still being over an hour of serving breakfast.

The room was very nice, what you would expect for a city hotel. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom quite big. Very clean

It could have done with a kettle. After our first night, we woke up to a flooded bathroom and top of sink. There were clearly leaks coming from the ceiling and underneath the sink. I will not downgrade the hotel as a result. The staff were more than apologetic and did everything they could to sort it. I was offered a different room. I accept these things can happen in hotels. The difference is in the staff. I spoke to 3 different receptionists during our stay and they were all very professional, competent and welcoming. I had an enjoyable stay, despite the issue we had. Would really recommend
