Location. Walking distance to station10 mins and 15 mins to historic area..Cosy atmosphere, helpful staff and good breakfast Very nice small restaurant / bar area on site and board games/ table football available for use if required

Our twin room was extremely small and the beds seemed much narrower than other Ibis hotels we have stayed at.No storage whatsoever, only one thin wooden rail (with 2 very light plastic hangers each) and an extremely narrow shelf above.Seating also poor and consisted of two plastic cubes stacked one on top of the other. Most importantly our adaptors would not fit in the sockets above each bed due to the positioning which was hopeless .This meant we had to share one socket to charge our phones and, use hair straighteners etc. Although the buffet was plentiful,, we were also surprised there were no rolls or, jam, honey, marmalade at breakfast time. .

Staff friendliness, common area, breakfast and in house resto. The staff goes out of way to make you comfortable and to help you with anything. One of us left a key inside the bag they locked, the staff were kind to help navigate this situation. Location is great next to gent dampoort station and also the flixbus point, would stay again if we visit gent again. We had in house dinner on one night and didnt expect much, but it was fantastic. The vibe was lively and you have many guests chilling down or playing games, which gives a good cosy feel.

room size bit small, but the large hearted staff makes up for it. Maybe breakfast options could be bit more but then its a budget hotel so its understandable. Really nothing much to not like here.

We came to Ghent for the weekend with the child and were given a family room with a double bed and an additional single bed, neatly hidden in a closet. It could be unfolded and put away to save space. The room was small but very clean, and the location was close to the train station, with the city center about a 20-minute walk away. The stylish lounge has a bar and a café for breakfast, and you can also buy some food and drinks. I think the best price-quality option for a couple of nights!

Since our closet contained a bed, we didn't have any place to put our clothes and backpacks. That was quite uncomfortable.

All the hotel was very clean and had good service. The bedroom & bathroom were small but very clean and well equipped for a great short stay. The breakfast was excellent - good choice although quite expensive. The small breakfast option was not advertised however and only discovered on day 3. The restaurant had great beer and good pizza. Overall the stand out was the lovely staff - all of my contacts with each member of staff was exceptional. From the restaurant staff to the Reception staff. They were all extremely polite, knowledgeable and spoke fabulous English - only too happy to help.

As a vegetarian, I wanted some veggie options for dinner - the "veggie' burger was not a burger, but 2 slices of aubergine - not good. The pizzas were good. A cheaper breakfast option would be good. Just coffee, toast, fruit perhaps.

The staff, they were simply awesome. A special thanks to Shannon who provided us with a table fan. A sincere thank you. Also, all other staff members that i can remember - Shannon, Islam, Luca (both), Lucia, Bo, Hussam, Sasha, David, Fredrico, Eslam and other staff people whom i cannot recall their names. were so looking forward to help not just us but every customer. The reception area is always a very busy and happening place. One of the few GEM hotels in Europe/ Belgium i think. Though the Brand is the same, IBis Budget Bruges was completely opposite to the treatment given us here by IBis Budget Dampoort.

The cleaning staff needs to be consistent in terms of their cleaning and completing their work.

Room was as required and as expected. Was on the small side however we were only in it for sleeping so didn’t require the space on this trip. Bathroom appeared newly refurbished and to modern standard. The shower and toilet facilities were great. This was the perfect hotel for 1 night in Ghent. They also offered parking at €18 per night which served us well. We were able to use the self check in machine for both in and out therefore did not have to speak to any staff for our stay. This was great for quickness however loose the friendliness of the visit.

The bathroom walls could do with a wash down. However the shower, toilet and floors etc all appeared in clean condition. The room itself was on the small side although was fine for our requirements. Reception desk was always busy. We used self check in however if we weren’t confident using it or occurred a problem we would have to wait a while in a queue to speak to staff.

The hotel front desk staff were very friendly, and one of the employees noticed that we had a lot of luggage and kindly offered to help us store it. The location is very convenient, with many bus stops nearby as well as a train station. Everyday essentials can be easily purchased at the Carrefour next door.

One of the small beds in the triple room is inside a closet, and when it’s pulled down, the room becomes quite cramped. It feels a bit tight for three people, but considering the price, it’s still acceptable.

Good location, close to a bus station that takes you to the city centre in 5-10 mins. Great amenities for travellers: lounge area with games and working space, restaurant, bar, can buy snacks and other things at the reception, can even rent umbrellas if it gets rainy. Comfortable room, towels and bed linens are changed on request. Very nice staff ready to help you anytime.

The room is a bit small. It was not an issue for us, but definitely something to consider if you're looking for more moving space.

The hotel's location is fairly close to the city center which is an advantage. The hotel was clean and organized. There were some facilities like sports activities. We enjoyed playing football at night. In addition, the bar and restaurant were nice. The quality of breakfast was fair but not the best.

The room was too small for three people although the third bed was foldable we we could barely walk in the room. There was only a narrow space to get up from bed and go to the toilet.

It was clean, functional and compact. Breakfast was fine, and the hotel has a nice buzz. Perfect for a night or two. Parking underground, 18€ for one night. Safety first in this hotel. You can only access the floor you are staying at by beeping your keycard in the elevator.

The location wasn’t ideal when returning on foot late at night. The hotel is right next to building sites in the harbor area on the edge of town, a 20 minute walk to the old center. The first stretch on foot, crossing the bridge felt a little uncomfortable , passing a neglected area with loads of bushes, through a sketchy neighborhood. I wouldn’t want to walk back to the hotel in the dark, certainly not on my own.
