This was an amazing stay at a wonderful hotel. It actually felt like a 5* and not like a 4*. We travelled with 2 young children and upon arrival we were surprised with two soft bunnies, 2 golden ducks for the shower, an extra plastic bath, shower gel and shampoo for the kids, even 2 small bathrobes! We have been to many hotels with the kids and this was one of the best welcomes our kids ever received. I especially enjoyed the whats app Al assistant tool, it was extremely helpful and replied promptly. When it didnt have answers an employee of the hotel enter the discussion and replied. We hired a car and when asked they provided pricing both for the hotel parking and also for a nearby cheaper parking (2min walk - very convenient). The Olivier bistro - restaurant was lovely as well and offered tasty food. We booked the suite which was very comfortable and even had a big balcony. To walk to the room from the main building (1min walk) you go through a lovely garden. Highly recommended!!

Nothing! Everything was wonderful

The building itself is beautiful and the room terrific. We had a little trouble communicating to the housekeeping staff about making the bed WITH a flat sheet but other than that, loved the service. The front desk people are GREAT at personally taking on anything you need. The restaurant was so good we had dinner almost every night at the hotel, even though there is no shortage of excellent restaurants in Ghent. Great place!!!

I emailed in advance of checking in that I'd need a flat sheet as well as the standard duvet. I double-checked with front desk to make sure of this at check in. That first night, housekeeping simply left a flat sheet for me to use. Next night same thing (even though front desk 'intervened'). By third night, housekeeping got it right. Oh well..... Don't let this put you off however; this is a first-rate hotel with excellent service.

Don’t miss this hotel. We were just in Europe for three weeks and stayed in probably five or six hotels and this was by far my favorite. Beautiful, comfortable, perfect location, and very nice staff. I didn’t really pay attention when I was booking, but this place has a sauna so every day after 20,000 steps we would go to the sauna. Between the sauna and the beautiful comfortable rooms we slept so well here. Also, this location is perfect. It’s an easy walk to the center of Ghent, and I definitely was so happy to get out of the old area and come to this beautiful hotel. If you’re reading this review and the price is within your budget, don’t hesitate to book this. Absolutely loved this hotel, the food was AMAZING also! The breakfast was a bit pricey for us so we didn’t have it, but we ate lunch there and it was the best meal of the trip.

Great location with walking distance to city center and also Ramen underground car park. You get a fixed price of 15 Euro for 24 hours if you park your car more than 10 hours when you enter from 7am to 7pm, so it is a great deal! The hotel staffs were friendly and professional! They escorted us to our room once we checked-in and informed us the facilities of the hotel and complimentary items in the room. The room and toilet were clean, and the bed and pillows were super comfy! We have a good night rest to recharge! We didn't book the breakfast, albeit it is a cosy dinning place with variety of food. The interior design of the hotel beautiful and splendid! Don't miss the SPA as it is inclusive!

Nothing major to complain, as their services is exceptional and quality!

Great location, very close to the city center and all the attractions (about 7 minutes walk). Clean rooms, very comfortable bed, great shower, coffee and tea on the house, friendly staff. I was even very pleased with the pillow, which has almost never happened before in my life. (It's actually the second hotel I am staying in in the past 20 years that has pillows that I can sleep on). But yes, this is a very subjective matter, indeed.

Well, personally I didn't like the toilet cubicle, I found it a bit claustrophobic, but I understand most old houses/buildings in Belgium have toilets like that. So, not an issue after all, it's not like you spend much time in that tiny room anyway. The shower is in the room, which could be a problem for those who like their privacy when having a shower. Not my case this time, as I was traveling alone. Not much to complain about in fact, these are just personal preferences.

This was our fourth stay at this hotel, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed this time. On the first night, we were given a room in the annex on the ground floor. The large window opened directly onto a busy street, which made it impossible to get fresh air at night or to relax comfortably. For the second night, we were moved to another room on an upper floor, which was slightly better, but overall, the experience did not live up to our previous stays. We regularly visit this town for family reasons and had always been satisfied with the hotel until now. That said, the breakfast was perfect, as always.

Our stay at Pillows was easily one of the best we've ever experienced and we do travel quite often. From the rich history and stunning interiors to the sumptuous food and perfect location, every aspect of our visit was outstanding. However, it was the exceptional staff that truly set this hotel apart. (Anais, in particular, stands out, but all staff were incredibly kind and genuine.) Their attention to detail and dedication to customer service exceeded all expectations. We truly felt like we were coming home after each day of exploring the city. We can't recommend Pillows highly enough and look forward to returning in the future!

Zero complaints

We were upgraded to a fabulous quiet room - large walk in shower, extremely comfortable bed and luxurious linen. Breakfast exceeded expectations - fabulous choice and environment to eat in. The service was exceptional. Would definitely stay again.

The spa was great - towels, robes and slippers provided - not a massive space so could get busy. We had not realised and admittedly, may be did not read details correctly when booking, but the spa is in another building so necessitates you going outside the hotel. Not so easy to just pop down in a robe from hotel room as you had to walk through the hotel, past the restaurant, through the lobby etc. The changing space in the spa is very small and intimate.

The hotel was wonderful, as were all of the staff that we encountered from our welcome at reception to those who looked after us in the restaurant, bars too. The food in the bistro was excellent and breakfast offered a great variety. We appreciated the decor throughout the hotel and the 'living' spaces that were available for work or to relax.

Only downside is that to park it costs €45 a night and there are limited spaces for hotel guests. There is an alternative car park nearby that serves the town so can be busy too.

Everything was great from top to bottom! I arrived several hours before check in and my room was not ready yet, but the staff kindly gave me access to the spa with the offer to use the shower and other facilities to freshen up (I had just come off an overnight flight). When I was able to access my room, they upgraded me to a suite! The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and even had a beautiful view. Breakfast at the hotel was abundant and delicious as well. Location was great, a few streets away from the most popular sights (really everything is close by on foot in such a small city). The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Lastly, the price was a great value compared to this level of hotel in other cities. I wish I could’ve stayed longer at this wonderful hotel! If I am even in Ghent again, I know where I will be booking!
