Excellent top location with subway station in front and many types of public transportations. Near the city center, famous monuments, shopping malls, parks and etc. Room was modest, but spacious and very clean. The hotel is perfect if you are traveling for work or for sightseeing, but not for relaxation.

Depending where your room is it could be noisy, because the hotel is at the corner of two major boulevards. Difficult to park near the hotel. They offer a parking, but it is paid (10 EUR) per day which for Bulgarian standards is a lot I think. Next to the hotel there is casino from where suspicious people come out.

Nice views from window if you stay on top floor and comfortable bed the bed size bit small for double but it’s ok WiFi was good enough and smart TV provided YouTube

The walls really really very thin same as cartons very very thin I can hear everything next room it makes bit difficult to sleep

Business suite new wing: The cleaning staff was very professional, clean room and very clean bathroom, the hotel was quiet, nice lobby bar on the ground floor with terrace and tables outside facing the street, comfortable bed, reception staff is very fast in check in process. Overall it exceeded my expectations.

Plastic mat instead of towel mat on the bathroom floor. Plastic mat not sure how they clean it after each guest and does not absorb water so had to use one of the towels for the floor. No safety handle in the bath so when you go in and out you may slip and the only place to hold is the bathroom door - if you left it open. Bath glass wall is very low so when you wash hair all the water goes out on the bathroom floor and the only way to mop it is with another towel. TV in business suite is in the living room so can not watch TV in bed.

The hotel is very central, it is in a residential area and quiet. There is a big mall opposite with shops and cafes. The metro station is just outside the hotel and very cheap, with a connection directly to the airport. I only booked the room, as there are lots of options for food around, with cheap traditional breakfast options on the go from the bakery in the tunnel of the metro station. The view of the mountains in the background is stunning and it’s a lovely walk over the pedestrian bridge to the palace of culture, and from there to all the tourist attractions. The VIP room was very big and clean, although a bit Spartan looking. It had a big bathroom with nice toiletries and a big entrance hall. The room had nice big windows, one could be opened.

The bathroom had a shower over the bathtub and when using sprayed out onto the floor. There was a half length of Perspex, but nevertheless the floor got drenched on the other half. The VIP wing of the hotel is like an ad on, which means the lifts are in the old part and to get to the VIP wing was 3 steps down onto the corridor. This might be inconvenient with heavy luggage.

My room was upgraded by booking to a business suite, and it was really spacious and comfortable. The location is fantastic; the subway station is right in front of the hotel. The lobby bar serves nice German beer. The room was quiet and the bed was perfect for me (I have back problems). The staff were friendly and helpful! Already booked it for two more stays.

The room was really clean but there was some leftover food from the previous guests in the fridge.

Just above the Metro station so in hot summer you don't need to walk outside much. The staff are overall friendly.

The facilities could be better. The chair is falling apart. The shower area is too small. The AC has an unpleasant smell. Buffet breakfast is not served every day.

Location is nice. Metro station right downstairs, ATM machine and a mall opposite of it. We reserved and paid for the parking which is well worthy. Hotel is easily accessible with a car. Didn't go to the center on this visit but the center is close, either by metro and even by foot. Staff were nice. I did a booking mistake failing to input the correct number of people in the reservation but they decided not to charge extra. The room was in the 'new wing'. Large and comfortable room, quite and air conditioned. It's good value for money and would stay there again when in Sofia.

It was just bad luck I presume, but one of the beds had its bed slats dislodged. Since it was midnight we were tired to call the reception and wait for someone to help, we just fixed it ourselves. When doing that we noticed a big brown stain on the bottom of the mattress, don't know what it was and didn't want to find out. This is more of a tip to the hotel to have a look at it than a critique.

Good location. Breakfast is super! Rooms and facilities require some improvement. I like staff very much

Old locks, heavy keys. Should be replaced to electronic ones. Bar did not work at evenings. No currency exchange. Bed sheets were not comphy, like from 19th century. Must be fitted sheets already. Otherwise its not smooth on bed surface. And, finally, shower curtain was short, was about 10 inches gap to the floor and the floor was always wet.

The room was really clean and comfortable. Bigger than expected and well layed out. The hotel is in a key location right next to the metro as well as a shopping mall with a supermarket. Next to it are also good and reasonably priced restaurants. The staff was super friendly and communicated well in English. We totally loved our stay and would look forward to stay again at Hotel Hemus

An excellent choice – the hotel is close to the city center, next to a lovely park, and right in front of a subway station. My room was huge and fully equipped. The breakfast menu was very good. If I return to Sofia, I'll surely stay here again!

During my first night the aircon wasn't working properly. They said they couldn't repair it because it was the weekend, but moved me to another (even bigger) room where it worked very well.
